Who will host the 2010 Olympics?

Who will host the 2010 Olympics?
It must be this year, to keep up the every 2 years tradition.
Shoud we make a poll?
Conditions:
It shoud not be any nation that has already participated.
I put this on the two only forums that are impartial at the present time in micronationalism, MICRAS http://micras.org/ , on SAM: http://micronationalism.forumotion.net/forum.htm , and OMF http://micronational.net
Best regards!

What does a host have to do?

Re: Who will host the 2010 Olympics?
There have been five micronational olympics so far.
The first one was created and hosted by Molossia.
Since then, different micronations have picked up the task every two years to host one.
it runs more or less like this:
1) The nations that are interested in hosting makes a bidding for hosting the next olympics to the nation that has hosted the last one.
2) After interview with each bidding nation by the former olympics host, the nation considered more capable of hosting the next olympics is selected.
3) The new host gets to decide how and when it is going to happen, as well as what kind of sports or events will be.
I am glad there is still interest, as it seems to be the only true intermicronational event so far.
So start planning!
Some bidding nations have proposed doing a Wii competition, but I am not sure all have Wii (I know I dont), so perhaps this will be possible on one or two olympics from now.
It must be something all micronations can participate.

I believe it was Yan that hosted the last one, IIRC

The intermicronational exposition is going for its third year...I am glad there is still interest, as it seems to be the only true intermicronational event so far.

Re: Who will host the 2010 Olympics?
I would like to know more about these two events.
People shoud expose these ideas more often.

Being annual events, I'm not sure they can be exposed more often than they are alreadyYAN wrote:People shoud expose these ideas more often.
And seeing as most of the nations who are involved in them are based on Micras (or only Micrasian nations are allowed to participate), there's never really any need to advertise them elsewhere (especially anywhere where any scoffing secessionists tend to lurk )...
Re: Who will host the 2010 Olympics?
About the remarks on what I like to call micronational lifestylers, the only problem seem to be three specific individuals, there are many good people on "lifestyler"´kind of micronationalism (not to call it secessionism as I do not see them in arms against governments), however I can relate to the form for antagonism that those three end up stirring, dragging forums down with their manic delusions of self importance.
Their problem seem to be more related to sociopathy than anything else except for one or two extreme cases of narcissism, narcissism however is not really sociopathy (as it have been thought to be on the past) as narcissim is not caring about others but oneself, they do not pick on people because they do not care about people, or what they, while sociopathy seem to be all about what others do, and what others think, and how others shoud behave.
And equally unfortunate, sociopaths tend to influence the less informed so i am locked on a struggle elsewhere every now and then.
To snob rather, seems to be part of the human condition, as I also find it elsewhere.
I intend to eventually dismantle those disruptive pockets created by the three major problems on this nice hobby, as they do give micronationalism a really lousy impression so we all can have some peace, however this debacle is for some other time, and I cannot do everything myself.
I am glad however that zeal is still active in here.
back to what really matters on this thread, I would like to know more about the aforementioned events that only happen at MICRAS.
Those interested on the bid to the intermicronational olympicswho might like to meet other micronationalists not related to specific forums or groups from this forum have been taken note of, and a reply will come in june.
Untill then all my best wishes to all, my fellow micronationalists, and I thank you for bnoth your zeal and your interest on the matter.

We did that to some micronationalists to give peace.. and look how.. ehh.. entertaining and lively its been since!.. .. >.>..dismantle those disruptive pockets created by the three major problems on this nice hobby, as they do give micronationalism
Not that I'm saying its comparable, or making any definate point rergarding circomstance, but casting people out didn't really make anything 'better' here. Just a different argument emerged.
But anyway. Not to whisk off topic.
We once tried an olympic games in Vanderveer by using online gaming. Unsure how successful that really was, as along with the Microvision idea, the whole collection processes and organisation was a little off. How do you go about 'doing' the games, per sey.. or is it all a bit of data crunching and chance of the die?

Re: Who will host the 2010 Olympics?
Usually people end up using yahoo forums to the competitions, some have suggested other places where we could do this as computers today can a little more.
Competitions on Wii and similars have been suggested, however I do not think all micronations can afford or are interested on such ressources, I for instance do not intend to own one.
I wanted to insert other than yahoo forums last time but I did not know if others enjoyed Total War series as much as I do.
Does Civ series now have multiplayer? It would be nice to play that with other micronationalists, however this is for the new host to decide once the new nation is selected.
I suck at data crunching.
