Microvision Feb 2011 - Who's In?
Hello everyone,
Hope you have all had a good festive period and wishing you all the best for 2010.
Let's get down to business. I don't know whether Spangles still on LOA. But as my contribution to Microvision since its foundation has been very much minimal despite being credited for helping out the foundation in MicroWiki, I think I need to put in some contribution to it whilst Spangle isn't active.
So my proposal? Microvision 2011. We haven't had one for a while, so let's make it change here. If you don't know how it works: basically Microvision is a micronational equivalent to the Eurovision Song Contest. Each nation submits a song and other nations votes on the best entry. I will leave this very open as that, but for more information regarding the pointing system etc. please visit this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurovision.
Well, for those who don't know how Microvision works? Each nation can submit one song. This will then be compiled or hosted externally, so all nations can all the entries. We then take the votes from each nation.
However due to only 1 nation voting in the previous MicroVision. I will be pushing people for votes. If you don't push them, I will assign a jury who will vote on your behalf. Simple as that. We will now need a new host - which will be decided on interest and previous appearances. Usually winners will host the next one, but seeing as the last proper one was ages ago, Micronations have of course died and now cease to exist.
So let's get down to business. I aim for MicroVision to launch on 26th February 2010. That gives me time to compile the YouTube video. There will be No Specific Theme for this MicroVision, although if we have to set a vague theme, it'd be popular music from the 20th-21st Century.

All good? Capische? Let's try and get MicroVision Running Again.
Once again, I wish you all the best for the rest of your festive holidays!
HIEU.

Oh gods that reply scared the fudge out of me...
Yeah, I've been back since August.
I stopped microvision because no one seemed to care about it, everyone seemed to like it as much as pushing pins into their arms (which is still a lot more than they like, say, CIS (they like CIS about as much as putting pins into their eyes, really blunt and rusty pins)) and I always ended up chasing people for votes they didn't want.

Can't hurt having another soon, I reckon. Might have a new lease of life after its hiatus
Re: Microvision Feb 2011 - Who's In?
Never understood the odd fanaticism that continent has with Eurovision, and I understand even less the compulsion to bring it into micronations.
Re: Microvision Feb 2011 - Who's In?
If it helps, Spangle, I hate Microvision far more than I ever hated the CIS . You know, every time I hear of the this thing I have this thought that goes "you know, micronationalism *is* sort of awesome, if nothing else they at least come up with some neat music. We've got people here who do that stuff, you know - Artz sings, Icebreaker plays the banjo, I don't even know how many other musicians we have"... and then I realise that the reason I don't know of anyone else is that Microvision is not actually about being awesome like that at all and it depresses me

Never really understood why we are in micronationalism in the first place...SaiKar wrote:Never understood the odd fanaticism that continent has with Eurovision, and I understand even less the compulsion to bring it into micronations.

As long as I can submit Dancing Lasha Tumbai for Ashkenatza I'm happy.
