I'm rather eager to see Fish et al's reaction and side of the story myself. Until then I don't think there is much else to be said except we'd rather remain neutral and wait and see what everyone involved.

I had been practically brainwashed by Fish et al into believing that von Linden was the devil incarnate, until I started talking to him, heard both sides of the story and realised that the three micronational leaders mentioned earlier had been fabricating charges against von Linden with little or no evidence or foundation, and assuming (correctly) that the rest of the community would believe that he attempted to hack the server etc without looking into it themselves.

I offered to be an impartial judge in a fairer trial uninfluenced by the three leaders' bias, but it seems that my offer was rejected :/

If you guys really need a judge that knows next to nothing about what went down, someone from Micras is probably a good candidate, since we're too far out of your sector for us to have a personal stake in the ruling one way or the other.

Really? I guess that is a joke. I am not too familiar with the Grand Unified Micronational so I cannot be sure lol.

Fair point, but when I first offered a fair trial I believe I was impartial. Now that it has been refused and I have learnt even more of the facts, I must say that I am starting to side with von Linden.

Why, hello hello hello. I don't think I need to point out that von Linden's side of the story is very biased and one-sided and I would like to thank Scott for bringing up the dossier. I honestly cbfed reading the whole thread and, in fact, the first post, but I would like to point out a few things anyway as an admin on MicroWiki.

Firstly, von Linden has already had a second chance. And a third and fourth one. Perhaps even fifth and sixth ones depending on how you look at it. The Marco Dresner affair was not the first time von Linden has gone under another alias and created a new identity and nor was it the last. In fact, he boasts to have dozens of pages on character summaries for his past personae and he has generally speaking been a complete nuisance to the whole community.

Secondly, how on earth does Will Soergel control the community? Peter Bralesford I can understand, he's the leader of the second most influential micronation with the community (yes, we're weird and have votes on that) and he's the owner of the site after all. Philip Fish I can understand, he's the leader of the former second most influential micronation and is widely respected throughout the whole community (with the exception of a tiny but vocal minority). But Will Soergel? Seriously? He's the leader of the fifteenth most influential nation and was 'beaten' in the survey (so to speak) by a nation that was two months old at the time. I really can't see how he even remotely controls the community.

Thirdly, the community voted to keep your ban in place. Allow me to repeat. The community voted to keep your ban in place. I'm really too lazy to explain this evidently quite self-explanatory statement, so instead I'll just link to this and that for all interested.

Aaaannnndddd...I think that should end the matter. The community has officially endorsed your permanent ban so I really don't see what you're complaining about (apart from the obvious).
