Re: Question.
Don't remember seeing one when looking through the store on my girlfriend's iPhone. How hard could it be to create one though? An MCS app could be pretty snazzy...

Re: Question.
An app for everything might be a bit ambitious, but it would certainly be possible to write/adapt apps for the major infrastructure that we use, like forums/SCUE etc.

^ His excellency the Nohsi (of the Republic of Ashkenatza (of the fluttering scarlet banner, of the purity of democracy, of kehile, land und kultur etc etc etc etc etc)) had a great idea to do voting in our Knesset by means of twitter, which I understand can be accessed via a smartphone (Is this so? I haven't purchased a phone for about four years, and that one was a bottom of the range model)?

Re: Question.
I was on the Apple website and they said to get to make apps you must have a mac and must pay $99 (us maybe other currencys). my estimates are that about 20% in the MCS have a macintosh so they might have the supplies already

Re: Question.
There is an app I've noticed on Android Market that is specifically designed to view forums... An admin has to install some code on the forum to create a mobile version but that seems to be it.

^ i think that's it, and its good on all platforms. So that's one thing we can do to make micronationalism more mobile.

Re: Question.
I don't understand. I use the forums all the time on my droid through the browser. What's the point of a forum app? To consolidate all your boards into one place? I do that with bookmarks. Unless you created a micronational forum app that contained every micronationally related forum in it, thus exposing people to areas of the hobby they never knew existed in the first place, I see that as being unsuccessfuly duplicitous.
If we're pushing for a successful app it needs to have something worth keeping. For instance the What to Expect app on my droid. One aspect of it is the forum, but it also tracks how many months along you (or in my case, my wife) are in your pregnancy, gives daily updates on having a successful pregnancy tailored to your time in term, gives information on how big and what is happening developmentally with your baby and a dozen other functions I don't use.
Now something to consider is an app that connects to the SCUE, which gives real time updates when business deals with SCUE currency are taking place, notifies users of votes regarding new members or charter issues, has a SCUE currency tracker to let you know how much currency you have, allows you to effortlessly exchange money between accounts without anyone having to update individual forums, has a website widget connecting the app to a forum or homepage so that people's accounts are visible and current with transactions, etc.
How do you do that? Havent the foggiest. Is it the best idea for a micronational app? I don't think so, it pushes away anyone who doesn't have a smart phone. But that's the kind of thing you need to explore.

Re: Question.
I think the best thing to do with it, only if it's possible, of course, would be to link to to the various newsfeeds we have so that it updates whenever there's a new news story posted. Other helpful things to add to it would be stuff like the most recent claimsmap update, SCUE details (as Ari said) including access to your account, maybe even weather forecasts for certain nations/cities, and possibly a sports results feed; just to try and branch-out to the more popular/updated sections of the hobby
I don't think there should be any extra benefits with having the app, otherwise (as Ari said, again) it'd alienate those without the technology to access it, but it should include stuff that people might want to access at a random time when they don't have their computer on them (for example)...

Re: Question.
A well-written webpage would be even more accessible (an overwhelming majority of mobile phones has (X)HTML browsers instead of the previously standard WAP) and more than doable. RSS Feeds, SCUE votings & bank operations and even mobile forum browsing could be done with a bunch of plugins and self-made PHP code...
