U.S. Micronational Meet

U.S. Micronational Meet
So all the Micronational Meets I've heard of seem to be in the UK, which I guess where a majority of us are.
So I live smack dab in the center of the US in Kansas now, and was wondering if anyone knew of micronationalists in this area or a resource for where everyone is at? I'd like to have a U.S. Meet to coincide with the next Meet in the UK.

Re: U.S. Micronational Meet
The next meet - at least in a broader micronational sense, rather than just Hub-based - is planned to be this July in London. It's a follow-up to the "PoliNation" summit/conference they held in Australia in 2010. It's being organised by the same people (take whatever stance you want on this, but ol' Atlantium George is one of the main collaborators) as well as a new face of two, so will also have the "PoliNation" branding.
Although planning is way in its infancy, there are tentative dates already, but a good deal of the micronational "old boys" (Sealand, Molossia, etc) have expressed a desire for some of their more influential people to attend, so it could end-up being pretty damn interesting. There's a rough planning-related thread over on MicroWiki, started by Alexander Reinhardt of St Charlie (one of the people helping to organise it), if anyone wants to read-up more about it!
I know it's probably too far a journey and/or too expensive for a lot of people here, but those of you who are in the UK (and surrounding countries) and have been involved with micronations for at least a year should definitely take a look at it!
Sorry if I hijacked your thread, Ari, but it reminded me of this and I realised there hadn't been any mentions of it over here yet

Re: U.S. Micronational Meet
No worries. Hopefully the disappointment at not being able to go may bring people out of the woorwork and possibly to my event if I do host one.

I've been to the Babkhan-Shirerithian summit in Dublin, and the private meeting between the leaders of Elwynn and Ashkenatza in Exeter

You could've added Craitland to that if I'd gone home a day earlierPrince Daniel wrote:and the private meeting between the leaders of Elwynn and Ashkenatza in Exeter

I've noticed that as well. I'm in the same dilemma as you. I live in Missouri and for the longest time I've felt rather isolated micronationally since it seems like most of the meets are in Europe and I'm unable to attend those. Of course I'd be interested in attending a local micronational meet to get to know some of the US micronationalists.King Ailin of Uantir wrote:So all the Micronational Meets I've heard of seem to be in the UK, which I guess where a majority of us are.

Missouri, anywhere hear the Northland? If you are perhaps we have something going here
Strike that, I just found your Wiki. KCMO? Take the 92 to the blue bridge across the river and we're right in town there. If you've ever taken metro to Atchison you've passed our place. So you say you don't know of anyone else around here? I'll start working on putting something together soon and if people who don't want to buy airfare over the pond want to stop off in flyover country, all the better.
