Pseudonym

So...the conversation over the survey reminds me I have a number of background checks for various law enforcement and government positions coming up soon. As much as I am not emberassed about my hobby, the less I have to explain to investigators the better. So I need to try and distance this from me, so to speak. As much as I cannot remove every trace, I can mitigate the damage somewhat from a cursory google search.

The hardest question is, of course, what pseudonym to choose? Its almost like trying to pick your own callsign.

Something nice and Celtic-y to fit the Uantiri culture?

That's a good start. Having a gaelic name all my life I am used to people being incapable to get it right, so I'll likely Anglican-ize it if I do go that route. I'll go spend some time googling names in that vein.

Notes for myself (and anyone who's following and interested in participating)

-Cathasach: Ancient Irish for 'Vigilant' which fits the protector aspect. Expected shortening to 'Cath' which is acceptable. No one is going to pronounce the full name correctly...which is less of an issue online. Also not associated with previous Kings of Ireland/Celts as I refuse to assume the name of someone specific.

-Drest / Drust: It doesn't actually mean anything as far as I can tell except for some maybes about Pictish origins. Since Pictish research is fraught with innacuracies, I don't put much stock in it. That's nice as it doesn't carry with it expectations. Its also short, memorable, and easy to pronounce.

-Adare: May reference an Oak Grove, which ties in to the Druidic bent of mine. Pronounced as it looks.

I've chosen Rook as my new monicer. How do we change that?

And it would be a change to just 'Rook' since I don't really need King in my username.
