So I was trying on raincoats at Cabelas today and realized how much I don't actually like the color red. I don't wear it, I find it hurts my eyes in web colors, and that red is one of the primary colors for Uantir. I realized when I wear colors it's usually a deep green, brown, black, or grey with some exception. So I did a mock up of what the Uantiri flag would look like with a forest green instead of red. I also have always lamented how difficult the detailed crest is to reproduce, so I made a bronze silhouette. I'm thinking of smoothing the edges too, but was a bit lazy for it. The detailed crest will still be used of course, I fancy it quite a bit, but the silhouette would be useful in situation when the detail is unnecessary (super small versions of the flag) or where producing the detail would be too expensive or complicated.

Thoughts? Opinions? I've posted the original as comparison, just in case the avatar is too small for accurate perusal.

I really like it! That kind of jarring red isn't nice, have you considered a darker red? Though the new green is very nice.

How does the new bronze silhouette look when resized small?

I think you should add stylized features to the silouette, looks a bit blank now.

I'd quite like to see an option with a lighter green. Obviously not like lime green, but more of a jade - just this one looks too much like another shade of grey to me

I suppose I could fiddle with hues and such, but I'm not really very good with color. It really just looks like another grey to you? Hmm. ALl the other greens I've tried don't have that pleasant blue-ness to it, and all have the same 'too bright' feeling the reds all do (until they become burgundy and I don't like that either.) It's the most mellow shade I could find without playing too much with the Photoshop colors pallet.

I was thinking more that the current red brings in a nice contrast with the darker black and grey, and that changing to that green would lose the contrast and just look like another dark grey/black-type colour. I like the colour alone, but being next to grey and black doesn't do it justice, basically.

Shouldn't the silhouette be more gold? It looks a bit like bronze now.

I can't help but imagine Uantir as a country with lots of forests, including villages in the shade of trees... A nice vision
