How do I make my own Micronation?
Hello! I am new to the world of Micronatios but I've been studying some of them for awhile (maybe 3 days?) and I've decided to make my own Micronation! I've chosen the government type, the name and I'm making the website. But how do I claim land and get people to join my nation? Any answers are appreciated. Here is what I've decided so far.
Nation name: Monia.
Nation Full Name: The Kingdom of Monia.
Government Type: Parliamentary Constitutional Monarchy.
Monarch: King Oliver Whitehall II.
Capital: Monvara City.
The land I'm going to claim below is the Compass Rose of this image (I circled the land that I'm going to claim in white) and is on the lower left hand side of the picture.
Area Claimed (If possible): http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/ag2 ... 738632.png

Firstly, welcome to the Hub. It's great to see a new (virtual) face
Also, good work with what you've got so far for your nation - I rather like your flag already.
In regards to your questions, I'll answer them the best I can in the order you asked them.
Primarily, if you wish for your nation to claim land on Micras (the map which you labelled with your desired land), then there are a few requirements we (the MCS - the organisation in charge of maintaining the map) need nations to meet to be able to do so. The main thing we ask for nations to have is an active web presence. Normally this is an online forum, but there has been an influx of wiki-based nations joining us of late, if forums aren't your thing. The other main requirement is that nations are three months-old before they can claim on Micras - this is so we know you're likely to stick around and get involved
If you want people to join your nation, then that is something that flummoxes even the most experienced of us around here! If possible, one of the best options when starting-out is to have a few real-life friends become involved with your nation and get the ball rolling with some people you know and trust. If this isn't viable - don't worry, not everyone has the same interests! - then you may have to do a bit of a recruitment drive around some places in this community that fellow micronationalists frequent. Don't be afraid if you don't receive a huge amount of interest though - it's more than possible to run a one-man nation as well!
If there's anything else you need to know, just ask away and there'll certainly be someone who's able to give you a helping hand

Getting people to join your nation is hard. I recommend asking friends or people you know. Maybe if you are part of any communities? Like forums or groups on facebook. That is a good way to find people.
Wish you all the best with your micronation!

Welcome, Firewolf! As Craitman has pointed out, if you intend to get your new micronation on the Micras map, you'll have to actively participate in it for 3 months first. However, there's nothing stopping you in the meantime engaging with our community of nations before that time. You could try to get diplomatic recognition from other micronations as you build up the institutions and culture of your country - how it's organised, who lives there. Or you could apply for citizenship in a micronation here, either alongside your own project or before you start it formally, to learn the ropes from experienced micronationalists. Check out the Bastion forums for a few interesting projects, including Shireroth, the largest and oldest nation around. Any further questions, don't hesitate to ask here, on those forums or via PM.

You can also read through the recent archives of the Coprieta Standard to find out what is happening in various micronations throughout the community if you want to get involved as a citizen of another micronation. There may also be some inspiring information in the general archives of the site that you can lean on in developing your own micronation as well.
