New nation (Star Kingdom)
Hi, I am started a new nation on a 20 acre piece of land in Macon, G.A. U.S. . It is going to be called Star Kingdom or S.K. for short. It is wooded so we can use the wood to build the houses and just clear out the land so we can farm and have houses but I am going to keep part of the land wooded so we can hunt on the land. The nation will become self sufficient because we will hunt and grow our own food, have solar panels for power, there is a small stream so if we had to we could drink the water from there. We will have our own small army just to act as police and soldiers if for any reason we were under attack we would have them to defend the nation. I am looking for about 10 to 20 people to start this nation. We will have our own currency that is backed by silver and gold. We need people like farmers, hunters,doctors, people that do electrical work, builders and just people that can help build, populate, and sustain the nation. We already have a form of government set up it will be a monarchy type government and the rights as of right now are the right to free speech, to bear arms, to start a militia, to join a militia, and to a fair trial. The nation will need start up money so as of right now each person will have to pay around $10,750.00 for a piece of land that will be sold and if you don't have the money up front then we can go ahead and give you the land and you pay monthly payments on it plus interest. the land will be about 1/10 of an acre and you will have the trees to build your house. The reason it cost that much is because we are a small fledgling nation that does not own much territory so the land that is for sale is going to be high priced. Now if you want to rent s plot of land and move a trailer out there or build a house on the land you are welcomed to do that as well but the monthly rent is $600.00. If you are interested in joining us then please email me at austin11rowe@Gmail.com . Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.

Its cool. They posted it on April 1st. I choose not to believe.
Re: New nation (Star Kingdom)
1/10th of an acre for $10k? And wooded to boot? I can buy 15 acres of wooded property for about $60k around here. You'd think this guy was selling acreage in Manhattan.
Re: New nation (Star Kingdom)
One could also buy a piece of land directly next to the lot for 1/10th of the price and then join the country.

To respectfully engage with the post;
Land acquisition aside, there are the later problems of providing services that the state does. The only sensible degree of micronational secession is simply to stregnthen a town's municipal power. After that you get into all sorts of legal, political and social problems. Land is only a mall part, of which I doubt people will part with much to acquire unless they personally have any ownership.
Realistically, all you could ever actually achieve is to start a settlement, have a strong town council with a strong identity and try get your way in a bigger state. That has clear benefits for the town and for the project. That or you buy land in some failed state and secede with a small band of mercenaries. Or, you know, you could just simulate a government and create some sort of community online and have fun.
There is a reason we can't start city states in the modern world. That reason is that states are far too complex and require huge resources to function compared to ancient states. You can go for it if you want an awful standard of living though.
