Re: Hello.
What is exactly is Micras? Its not something that I got involved in before, I was either failing to run a successional nation or part of someone else's simulation nation.
How does a Wiki nation work? Is it not activity based or do citizens make entries to the wiki?

Micras is the name of the micronational planet...Kris wrote:What is exactly is Micras? Its not something that I got involved in before, I was either failing to run a successional nation or part of someone else's simulation nation.

Re: Hello.
As Jonas said, it's the planet we use for mapping the nations of our community. While you may have not been involved directly before, the (at least simulationist) nations you were part of claimed on MicrasKris wrote:What is exactly is Micras? Wiki-based nations tend to work more as a collaborative project among citizens to create articles for everything in the nation. Rather than how we tend to work with separate forum threads for such things, which also include the discussions about them, wiki nations' members usually chat on Skype to organise stuff...How does a Wiki nation work? Re: Hello.
Often, as is the case with Senya, there will often be a drive to do real life work as well, meaning that they can appear to be inactive online when in reality they're not. Also, only one or two members may be online, where as in a forum based nation, the entire citizenry is.Craitman wrote:Wiki-based nations tend to work more as a collaborative project among citizens to create articles for everything in the nation. Re: Hello.
Only for secessionist nations, mind. There's still a small percentage of entirely-online, wiki-based simulationistsSenya wrote:Also, only one or two members may be online
Re: Hello.
I've never liked the term "secessionist". It's a category Senya gets lumped in quite a lot, and it implies we go for independence, but we don't, and the only reason we get lumped in there is because we do real life things and only put a few things up on the internet.Craitman wrote:Only for secessionist nations, mind. Re: Hello.
Given that Kris is part of the old school, I'm sticking with the secessionist/simulationist split for a potential ease of reference for him. As much as you might not like it, it's been a go-to way of telling the difference between real land-claiming and virtual land-claiming nations since before I even joinedSenya wrote:I've never liked the term "secessionist". Welcome Not sure if you'd remember me from 2011 - formerly known as Fishy/Freeman on MicroWiki, now running the Republic of Pontus (semi-successor nation to A1).

Re: Hello.
Brian I had left long before 2011 but it's good to meet you.
I realise my mistake in spelling "successional" it took several attempts and I knew it looked wrong but couldn't work out why.
Jonas how would you go about recruiting citizens?

Ohi Kris
I'm Carl from Safiria. I've been puttering around in micronations since 2010, and outside of that my main obsessions are baseball, college football, conworlding, and Magic: The Gathering. :3

Re: Hello.
Hi. I'm that Pawel Craitman mentioned. I'm around for a bit now, with my first activities in the sector dated back to... *checks* Oh really, 2007? It's been 7 years now?
Anyway, for 2 or so years with Spangle and 3 without him (but under Craitmans wise leadership), I've been a MCS Council member - that means I've cared for the map, and later more just cared if people are serious about getting onto it.
I'm pleased to meet you. Possibly not for the first time

Re: Hello.
That's very impressive recruitment has really improved since I was last here.
Hi Pawel, no probably not for the first time.

Is there a list of currently active nations anywhere?
