Hey, welcome to the Hub!
We've had plenty of MicroWiki converts over the years, so you're more than welcome to join Micras, whether with your MicroWiki nation or with a new project. If you have any questions about claiming, don't hesitate to ask

what do you mean by convert? I will use both sites, and I plan to start a new project, with some sort of Hosamian nation in the east of Keltia, the Hosamians will settle the ruins of Sardis, let the Hosamians rise!

Re: Hello, I'm new
"Converts" being individuals/nations which started on MicroWiki before joining Micras; with the amount of anti-Micras rhetoric on MicroWiki in the past, people often had to be "converted" to take what we do seriously
I look forward to seeing your new project. If it helps, we have our own wiki where you can develop your nation ahead of claiming - just log-in with the same account as this forum!

Yes, I already have the wiki, but the more concerning thing that can stop me is...well, inactivity, I have been inactive in my microwiki micronation before, if I become inactive here, my nation may get deleted here, as that is a problem I've been struggling with.

Yeah, we do remove nations from the map if they are consistently inactive, but we don't delete them entirely; they can always claim again. We only do this with completely inactive nations, however, so as long as your nation shows some activity once every three months, it'll always remain on Micras

Ok, thanks for the clarification, and the last 2 questions, do I need a website? and by number of citizens does it mean actual people? I though micras was a fictional world?

Re: Hello, I'm new
Most nations used to have websites but they're quite rare nowadays; nations' online presence is usually reserved for a forum and/or MicrasWiki - just somewhere we can gauge activity. Micras is indeed fictional, but nations are still formed and run by real people, so we ask how many are involved as a factor in judging the size of a claim - that aspect of the community has shifted over the years though, while nations would regularly have a citizenry of ten or more, most projects are one-man states these days...

"AND you can show that you have a forum or wiki-page with posts or articles dating back at least 30 days, you are ready to claim. Otherwise, you can reserve land." what? I have to wait 30 days? And how do I get old microsoft paint to draw my claim?

Re: Hello, I'm new
Yes, we have a minimum age requirement to be able to claim - it used to be ninety days but we reduced it to thirty a couple of years ago to allow for less-established nations to join sooner. Reserving land means that the land you want can't be claimed by another nation before your nation is old enough, though, so is as good as claiming it but just means it won't appear on the official map straight away
Paint is only the easiest means of editing the map, it's not completely necessary to use it if you have other/better image editing software available...

"Claim: (a detailed description of your claim)" how detailed? the only citizens are me and my brother and I want to claim the ruins of Sardis, and finally I have to use old microsoft paint because the old one messes up the map or something.

Re: Hello, I'm new
Detailed enough to be a clear representation of the land you want to claim: i.e. a map matching the claimsmap's format (like this, for example). You don't have to use the old Paint, it's just preferred to others

As long as it's uploaded somewhere, put the image URL between the img tags like so and it'll appear when you submit the post:
Code: Select all
[img]URL[/img]
