The Empire goes to Space!
And so it begins, in a galaxy far far away.... *play Star Wars music*
ahem anyway... so, the Empire has now authorized to launch satellites into space.
Link to keep track of the Empire's launches. The first satellite Leia is soon going to be blasted off into space.
Launch Vehicle: Mirca
Satellite type: CS4
Satellite name: SS 01 (Leia)
Satellite Orbit: Molniya
Inclination: 63.4 degrees
Orbital period: 12 hours
For details on the launch vehicle and satellite type, see the Cyberdyne Systems organization forum on our board. They are our supplier.

Re: The Empire goes to Space!
Spangle... these provide "geosynchronous" coverage for the Empire (which is conveniently located in the polar region). Ok ok... they are in molniya orbit, and 3 should help provide a feel of being "geo-synchronous"... eventually, there shall be more so as to provide a better communication system.
I can't really say any fixed pixel on the map, because they obviously move around. I'll see if I can make a map of their path or so.

you can??? whaat? i dont understand if this is a joke of yours, or you are actually being serious (who knows, you might have some sort of a program running that does all of this calculations for you!)
well... whatever pixel is able to get me a 'microsynchronous' feel with 3 satellites for the Empire is fine by me.

Re: The Empire goes to Space!
Eventually I will be able to
With bill's help I've got this kind of thing:
http://micras.org/MAS/Satellites/tracking.php
also, I assume by 12 hours you mean 14.0316173 h

he didn't mean he expected you to do such an image, but just to post pixel from which it started and exact time...

pick a pixel on that line... and the time of the post.
if you want me to do it, you'll have to wait a while... after this weekend.. sometime next week.

Would the following image be better? Helps me clearly identify where each of the different types of satellite are..
