Re: Star maps.
Yeah
I think I'm calmer now, and I think all my algorithms are perfect.
by think, i mean "am sure beyond any reasonable doubt"
to the point where the only disagreement in my brain can be discounted to be noise.

north polar:

south polar:

Coordinates:
http://micras.org/temp/phptests/Coords_new.txt
Note that the stars are now evenly distributed around the night sky. Lord Pete only knows what type of galaxy we're in now
Note also that the coordinates file is in this format:
X - Y - L
Where X is the X coordinate
Y is the Y coordinate
and L is the apparent luminosity, logarithmic, using a base of the fifth root of 100 and relative to the earth star of Vega. (which is 0)
Any errors from now on will be blamed on novel physics.
Yes, that means you can start work on constellation maps.

Re: Star maps.
Great luminosity differences! But I have to find new constellations now

Are the png files in the first post up-to-date as well?

Re: Star maps.
Nope, we have to delete it all again
I'd say it'll all be done soon but I'd be lieing.
Bill will want to model the flow of hydrogen within each star next so he can accurately measure each solar flare.

Re: Star maps.
Well I can't save the images from the php pages, and I'd like to do my constellations now that it's been updated. Can you provide the direct link the new images?

Re: Star maps.
Aw, you didn't use the inverse of the Second-order van der Sluijs constant as your base.
