I believe Bill kept trying to get a second haibtable planet in but it was very difficult and i think it required us being much further from atos and atos being larger


but don't be upset, uninhabitable doesn't mean you can't habitate it in this day and age

Space is uninhabitable, the ISS is habitable :)

Mir was a way cooler name than International Spance Station. That's just unimaginative, it's a station in space, that is internationally used, brainwave, lets call it the International Space Station, some marketing pillock got paid thousands to figure that out.

You'll find that NASA doesn't really pay marketing directors to think of names for things, they'll just think, let's call it such and such and then people just agree

"Mir" is in russian "peace" or "famous of something" (in this case it's peace, but in, e.g. Vladimir it's "famous of battles" 'Vladi' means "leadership in battle")

Mm. The Mir was the bottom rung of Russian Tsarist government. Until Stolypin got rid of it. God, it's all about the peasants *sigh*
