Scott,
All inaccuracies are ic as is consistent with the nature of 24 hour news programmes, especially 24 hour news programmes operating out of a xenophobic insular nation ruled by an enlightened despot with a personality cult.I don't know whether it's you ooc or your newscaster ic who is confused about this, but the Hyperborean mercenaries under Raiki aren't allied with the Jasonians, they're attacking the Jasonians.

Re: Day of the Eagle (Part 1)
“This is bad. Very bad,†said Jonas to general Victor while moving through his office.
Someone knocked on the door, didn’t wait until someone responded with “come in†and opened it. It was Vryholder Tom Rotkins who entered the room with a giant smile on his face.
“This is good! Very good!†he almost shouted to the Senechal and ignored the general, “the Novatainians are gathering their forces and preparing for war. It will look like they declared war against a small, defenceless nation!â€
“Frankly. We are helpless, Lord Rotkins,†replied Jonas, “we have a small, welltrained army. But it’s not enough to stop a coalition of Toketi and Novatainia invading us.â€
Tom smiled to Jonas and looked outside the window, while ignoring the Senechal and general completely. He began to talk again: “We have strong allies. A Batavian fleet will come to help us, just like the Shirerithians. We will win, or otherwise we will die! But we will not die before the enemy is crushed! The Gods support us, we have a feudal and democratic system! Our nobles have guts and discipline. And those rebels...â€
“Ah yes, those rebels,†responded general Victor, “We think they are still based in the mountains...â€
“Those rebels are just fairytales, of course,†said lord Rotkin immediately without hesitating, “It’s a motive of the Novatainias to get our precious islands. No, the rebels don’t exist.â€
“Don’t exist?†asked Jonas, “But there is prove of their existence!â€
“Lies and propaganda of Novatainia. Luckely, our allies don’t believe in it, or aren't interested in it, and are still supporting us.â€
“Yes, but you know...†tried Jonas again, but Tom Rotkin ignored him completely.
“I will tell the other Vryholders they can go home, to their island and parcels. You are doing a good job, Your Lokiness. If you need troops to invade the Novatainian islands, contact me and I will send some mercenaries.â€
Vryholder Rotkin left the office. The Senechal and general were suprised. It was quiet. Both persons didn’t move. Then, Victor took the word.
“Your Lokiness, if I understand it right... they gave you complete liberty and control of the army.â€
“Yes, but that means I’m responsable for everything. Every loss will be counted as one of my failures.â€
An aid came in, while the general and Senechal were discussing the best way of defencing the islands and avoiding an invasion.
“Your Lokiness. General. The Batavian fleet is on its way and will arrive tomorrow.â€
“That’s good news, thank you. Send every friendly ship the message that they can sail to the port of Point Victor,†said Jonas friendly, “Except the Brittanic hospital ship. If there are Brittanics in Maraguo Vrystaat, they are probably here. In Enhasa.â€
The aid left the room and closed the door.
“Why Point Victor, My Lord?†asked the general, “The Armory is ourt best military base!â€
“But there are much ruins and old technology that we can’t use 'yet'. I don’t want that it gets damaged while we are so close rebuilding an epoch. By the way, it’s only used by the air force and landforces. We need to divide the armies a bit, so we can’t get a Pearl Harbor.â€
“A Pearl Harbor? Never heard of that place, sir,†replied Victor.
“Oh, forget it. It’s not of this world,†responded Jonas. They looked once again to the maps and plans on the desk.
Summary: The Vryholders don't believe in the existence of the rebels (Gold Eagle Society). Every ship can sail to the marine base of Point Victor, airplanes are stationed on the Armory Island.
Jonas has been given full responsibility and control over the army and nation.

Re: Day of the Eagle (Part 1)
Endtaeg 26th December
-HMNS Cafi
--West Grinstead
Captain Henry Phillips saluted back at the ensigns and other officers scatted around the bridge of the newly commissioned HMNS Cafi. It was the first Aircraft carrier built since the War of Gascony when HMNS Arcaviir had been destroyed but the new Captain intended not to make the same mistakes as his predecessor. Back on the docks soldiers of the King’s legion marched onto the transport ships whilst under a barrage of pure white snow which caused local onlookers to quickly take shelter.
King Josephus looked on from his FA-10 Jeep as he shouted into the megaphone mounted onto the top of the vehicle the same three words...‘Thernou! Faedertellus! Ecghete!’ [Honour – Fatherland – War]
Local members of the People’s Militia fired their weapons into to the air in celebration of the soon to come war whilst in the county of Surtland suspected members of the SLA were slaughtered by blood thirsty People’s Militia and Police for their treachery to the nation.
Josephus had boarded HMNS Cafi and had already settled into his personal quarters on the ship when there was a knock at the door. Josephus turned, still clutching the warm cup of rare Britannic Tea in his hand.
‘Enter....’
A figure walked into the room, the King instantly recognised him as Deodatus the long serving Nova English commander.
‘Gretan Sire’ Deodatus said as he saluted
Josephus saluted back as he pushed a spare chair towards Deodatus.
‘Gretan my good friend! And to what occasion do I owe this visit from you then?’
‘Well Sire it seems that the Lord Almighty has given us a chance to spread death amongst his enemies whilst giving us a chance to prove to the Novatanians that we give the same respect to our allies as we would with our own people!’
‘Aye my friend very true! Oh and that reminds me have the Novatanians been contacted yet to confirm our support for them?’
‘Nay but I shall do that now, Oh and have you heard that Governor Hart has dispatched a hospital ship to the region?’
‘Sicar! [Yes] We can use it for our own wounded if we sustain casualties rather than allowing too many unfriendly Eliscalaeod [Foreign People] to use its facilities...’

Re: Day of the Eagle (Part 1)
Four days had passed since the SCMC St Helena departed Ruhrdean, and having enjoyed a pious and yet merry Christmas aboard the ship the crew were full of anticipation as ship passed the northern coast of Istvanistan Island and entered the final stage of the journey. The St Helena, her white hull sliding gracefully through the deep blue waves, was expected to reach the outer islands of the Jasonian chain by nightfall whereupon it was to dock off the coast of Point Vincent and send aid parties ashore to attempt to find any Britannic citizens left in the former colonial city. Point Vincent had existed since the region was the Britannic Colony of Koranga and, knowing that no Britannian would stay in Whale Bone after its name had been ethnically cleansed, was expected to host a sizeable Britannic population.
The crew of the St Helena, mostly nurses and doctors, were eager to make landfall as it was feared given the state of war Britannic citizens may have faced discrimination when it came to the distribution of wartime supplies; and so it was feared many may have fallen ill due to malnutrition. A gentle breeze blew across the clear blue ocean from the south, making conditions onboard the ship reasonably pleasant given that the sun was high in the sky making the white paintwork of the vessel glow brilliantly as the hours went by. The red-cross upon the flagstaff streamed idly above the deck as the medical teams paced back and forth endlessly, eager to get off the boat and down to work, and it seemed they wouldn’t have to wait long when land appeared upon the horizon. Immediately the bridge was a hive of activity as the Racon (RAdar BeaCON) and radio beacons were switched on making the ship highly visible to the Batavian forces whom it was hoped would refrain from attacking. The radio beacon aired the message “Greetings from the St Charles’ Medical Corps Ship St Helena. We are a neutral vessel dedicated to helping those in need, please refrain from obstructing us needlessly but do feel free to approach us should you be in need of medical treatment, we treat those of all nationalities. God be with you†on a constant loop and the crew held their breath to see if a response would come...

Re: Day of the Eagle (Part 1)
Summary: Nova English support welcomed. Torrington ship allowed free travel as long as it sticks to its stated humanitarian mission. Brittanic residents on the island that wish to take the offer requested to go to Bryden to meet the ship there, as that's the only decent port. Andreas has met with Harvey and agreed to support him. He now awaits an official declaration of war from the Nelagans or Maraguoans.All in all, things were progressing well. Sakat had been accepted as Count without incident (he owed Andreas a favor or two after the Kildarian Time Wars, anyway*); Mel'Kat was in command of a fine portion of the Novatainian Navy - the same portion he had trained with, in fact. And Nova England had turned out to support Novatainia, for which Andreas had radioed a large thankyou response. A Torrington Island ship was also floating about - Andreas' orders re that had been very specific. As long as it kept to its stated mission of removing civilians of Britannic origin, it was to be allowed free sailing. If it engaged it offensive maneouvers, however, it was to be asked to leave. Andreas expected it would reach Bryden soon - it did, after all, have the largest Britannic population on the isles - and as such, anyone interested in the offer had been requested to go to Bryden, to make pick up easier. It was the only decent port left on Nelaga Island (Nova Kajar was near the sea but still several miles inland. Constructing a port capable of supporting military ships there had been low on Novatainian priorities).
Christmas had come and gone without incident, for which Andreas was thankful. He was now just waiting for the official declaration of war to be filed with his office - either from the Nelagans, or from the Maraguoans - he was unsure. He had had the honour of meeting the Great Enlightened Leader earlier that day**, and instantly warmed to him. The man was idealistic but also practical - a good combination. Besides, he was an ancient heir to Jasonia possessing several powerful and quasi-magical ancient artifacts. How could Andreas not like him? Andreas had soon agreed to help him in his quest to reclaim the isles, and offerred the Novatainian portion. After the war, diplomats from both groups would work out the final details - trading, archaeology, transfer of offices etc. For now, the limited Novatainian government on Nelaga had been instructed to co-operate with the Golden Eagle Society. Andreas just needed to wait for Tokian and Antican arrival.
*Jonas, for continuity, I think the Time Wars must happen before I become Duke, and so therefore have already occurred when Nelaga appears.
**I have no idea where you plan to be when this war starts. If you're far away, I gated onto your ship after having demanded an audience.

Re: Day of the Eagle (Part 1)
SUMMARY: Tokian forces round up and get moving by air toward the Jasonian isles. Korstokk, leading the squad asks Andreas where they should land and the latest news.Korstokk Melebroch, High Commander of the Chelkran Elite Guardsmen, now watched as a small group - small by comparison of what he usually commanded - loaded onto a wing Corona heavy transports. The very large chelkran shook his head and ran one armored hand through his white hair. Only 2,500 men, eight Cerberus tanks, five Wildfire tanks, and a Longbow Mk IV. Prodigy usually opted for excess; this was very unlike him. Though, Korstokk supposed, he had his problems elsewhere too. Kale needed soldiers in case Chelkran Kesh erupted with Passas, and Prodigy had some on standby as backup for either conflict, so Korstokk just shrugged and stood up. He could make due.
~~~~~~
Andreas had plenty to deal with, and bustled around his office making arrangements and writing notes and letters and missives of all kinds. He jumped a little when his secretary spoke.
"Milord, a phone call for you from one Korstokk Melebroch?" the secretary asked, holding a phone against his palm.
"I'll take it in here," the King told him, and sat down at his desk. He picked up his own phone. "Korstokk?"
"The same, King Andreas," the chelkran soldier grunted. "We're en route to the Jasonian isles now, should arrive in the next... hour or so. Where do you want us to touch down, and what's the sit-rep?"
"No accompanying ships?" Andreas asked. "If that's the case, we're using Nova Kajar as our base of operation - take command there. You and Nargoth can sort out the hierarchy between you."
Re: Day of the Eagle (Part 1)
“Why aren’t they replying!?†Captain Morgan yelled as the land drew ever nearer and the Batavians declined to reply to the blaring radcon. “We’ll just have to land anyway, Captain†Sister Palmer interjected; the assembled company of commanders looked uneasy at the suggestion as they all know the risk such a landing would entail. Landing in a foreign land without guaranteed neutrality was always a risky business, and as such the crew were reluctant to undertake such an operation; however in this case it seemed to be a necessary risk and so the journey towards Point Vincent continued. Only when the St Helena was in as close to the shore as possible was the order given to lower the landing craft; the small craft sending up spray as they hit the surface of the ocean before beginning to bob gently on the waves.
The landing craft held 40 aid volunteers from across Micras, many of them having been trained at the Britannic Royal School of Nursing in Willow before its destruction, all eager to get ashore but equally anxious about the reception they’d get from the Batavians. The little craft quickly whisked the aid workers ashore onto the sandy beaches of the coast below Point Vincent; and from there the nurses, their skirts hitched to avoid the surf and damp sand, marched inlands towards the city. The roads leading up the steep climb which led to the outskirts of the city were eerily quiet and the nurses proceeded towards the suburbs in silence; the only noise being the engine of the occasional car speeding towards the centre past the blatantly out-of-place group of aid workers.
The nurses drew the gaze of many of Point Vincent’s residents as they passed by, and one Batavian policeman seemed to be considering saying something, however the medical team marched onwards without disruption towards the Britannic district of the city; a small cluster of houses and shops in the city’s old-town. Only a few hours after leaving the St Helena the nurses bustled through a low stone gate which led to the main Britannic street of the city: only to find it deserted. The Hail Mary was muttered and rosary beads become a blur as the pious medical team edged cautiously down the street, fearing the worst, then suddenly voices could be heard. Countless voices echoed off the stone walls of the tall houses, all in harmony and all coming from one place: an ancient thatched church which stood in the shadow of a Batavian tower-block.
Hearing the singing, and coming to the realisation that “For the healing of the nations†was being sung in English, the nurses broke into a run and pushed upon the church doors and hurried inside. Multicoloured light streamed down onto the congregation inside the church through the high stained-glass windows as the massed people turned in shock at having their service so abruptly disturbed. As the congregation turned their gaze fell upon the group of nurses, all stood gawping open-mouthed at the mass of people who were looking back at them; “Can I help you?†the priest enquired. His question was answered with spontaneous screams of excitement from the nurses who flooded into the building and began embracing the confused locals.
On the bridge of the St Helena the crew gathered around the radio as news of an incoming transmission spread rapidly, then suddenly a voice came through loud and clear; “We’ve found them! They’re alive!â€
Re: Day of the Eagle (Part 1)
It was the major of Point Vincent, a man in the mid-fifties, who got the anouncement of the Brittanic ship, St Helena, far too late.
“It doesn’t mean because we are almost in war,†he said to his secretary, “that we don’t need to do our work! Next time you forget to deliver a message, you will be fired.â€
“yes, mayor Petit,†nodded the clerk.
Almost the same time as the mayor had discovered the message of the Brittanics, asking for permission to land, the news reached his ears that they had already landed and located Britannic citizens.
“Grmbl, those Brittanics are just asking for troubles. But I will welcome them.â€
After having spoken with some sisters in the Brittanic district of the city, the mayor agreed with the local commander of the Defense Guard to invite the commanders of the Brittanic ship.
“Send a message to the St Helena. I want to invite them,†said the commander to the clerk of the mayor, “If you agree, of course, mr. mayor.†The mayor nodded.
Summary: The Brittanic commanders are invited to diner with the mayor of Point Vincent and the local commander.
Re: Day of the Eagle (Part 1)
“Are you going to go, Captain?†Matron Lavigne enquired after hearing the news of the Batavian invitation. “I suppose I had better, Matron. Would you do me the honour of being my companion for the evening?†Captain Morgan replied, still slightly irritated that a formal dinner was to interfere with the aid effort. Therefore in the late afternoon the Captain of the SCMC St Helena and Matron Lavigne of the medical corps were taken ashore on a landing craft and they began the fairly demanding walk into the city, “I do hope they give us a lift back†the Matron said hopefully as the pair struggled up the sloping roads towards Point Vincent. “I do hope they don’t invite us again when we get to Nang†Captain Morgan responded.
As the two leaders of the St Helena marched towards the city, the medical team who had spent the previous evening in Point Vincent’s Britannic district were hurriedly helping the 200 Britannic citizens pack their meagre possessions. “Our family have lived here since Version 9.1!†an old woman lamented wistfully as her moth-eaten wedding dress was crammed into a dusty old suitcase by a forcefully sympathetic aid worker who then proceeded to throw it out of a second story window onto the back of a waiting carriage. By nightfall the Britannic citizens of Point Vincent and the accompanying medical team were ready and so, under the light of a bright crescent moon, the aid column set off through the centre of Point Vincent and made for the coast.
Summary: Captain Morgan of the St Helena and Matron Lavigne of the St Charles Medical Corps are strolling towards Point Vincent for dinner with the Batavian commander, it is hoped no such dinner will occur when the St Helena reached Nang as it delays the aid operation. Meanwhile the medical team are leading the 200 Britannic citizens back towards the ship.
