Re: Official War Thread
Summary: Carefully worded response to the Lovely forces. Boils down to, "How stupid do you think we are? You don't need to be on our island to negotiate. You have four hours to get off. We suggest you help the Batavian civilians on Sekatutet and Amoria. If you want, we'll radio in a course for you to take to pick up the Hyperboreans and then go to those islands. If you deviate from that course, move out of your current camp, make any hostile action, or aren't gone within four hours, you'll be destroyed ('cos we greatly outnumber you). Your choice how history remembers you. As the honourable ones who buried a hatchett and saved many lives, or the fools who clung to the shades of the past and were obliterated." IC, that's four hours from the moment the message transmits, which is a couple minutes after you send your response to the original offer back. OOC, obviously take as long as you need to respond (being aware, of course, that you'll be attacked if you do any offensive move)."Batavians," Andreas began, "and most especially Seneschal Jonas - there is no more war. If you do not already know, the Omen is no longer under Nelagan control. We do not know what plans the man who controls it has, but we suspect it shall be bad for everyone. The attack on Ardy's Reach was inexcusable, and should never have happened. Would never have happened, if we had retained control of the Omen. And for that I am sorry. There are no sides anymore. There is only those who will stop the Omen and protect the lives of civilians, and those who will continue fighting foolishly out of pride.
Jonas, you fought in the Time War. You know what's out there ... what fights all who would aid the memory of Jasonia, because they love more a long gone race. For all we know, that may be in control of the Omen. And you know what happens to those who reject the course of history. Nelaga will rise again. You have seen the Omen, you have seen Nelagans, you know now this is no Novatainian imperialism. For Nelaga's sake, for the sake of the memory of what Jasonia once was, and could be again, and for the sake of every person, Novatainian, Nelagan or Batavian, that still dwells in these isles, I ask you to stop this war. I ask you to help us find a way, any way, to take down the Omen. And then I ask you to let Nelaga grow in peace. Novatainia will be leaving these islands to the government of their choice. We have only ever sat here as custodians of the past, and you know it. Once the Omen is gone, it is time to let the future take control of its own destiny again. Jonas, I ask you - please end this war, and call off your allies."
"Anticans, if you do not know already, the Omen is long out of our control. We know what it is capable of, but we do not know what the man inside it will do. For the sake of your defence of Nelagan independence, and for the sake of all of Micras, I ask you to lay aside your fight and for us to pool our combined forces against the Omen. Make Airosamente, which I hear you have captured, as secure for the civilians as you can. As for your battle with Montague ... you would have more luck at talking him around than I. I leave the move in that regard to your discretion. But whatever happens, you must be ready, within the next few days, to take down the Omen. Else a lot more may perish than just Ardy's Reach."
"The message for the Hyperboreans, your majesty?" the radioman asked.
"I've thought more on that, and I think I shall leave it for now," Andreas said. "Leave it until I know how Lovely reacts. Either way, it would be better for me not to broadcast this message ... instead, deliver it myself."
My land forces move towards Nova Kajar to assist if needed, and my navy prepares to sail (except the Guided Missile Destroyer, obviously), with purchased fishing trawlers staffed by soldiers ready to go ahead to try and avoid mines if needed [though I'm not sure if your intent was to mine the route the patrol was taking (as seems logical), or just all around the port at Bryden].
Message sent to the Batavians requesting the war to stop and assistance against the Omen.
Message sent to the Anticans asking them to help the civilians on Airosamente be safe, finish the fight with Montague one way or another, and prepare to take down the Omen.
Plans to send a personal message to the Hyperboreans, pending Lovely's response.

Re: Official War Thread
Antican ships fire main guns upon Lovelian ships, then receives bombardment from Lovelian ships. A ceasefire for negotiations is requested.Antican Destroyer Halimēdē
Captain Scutarius stepped back into the Command Center less than half a minute after Katharine Valeria had called him in his cabin. Her message: Shore Party 2 had caught sight of the Lovelian Fleet.
Four shore parties, one assembled from each ship, had taken position on the two sides of the bay in which the four destroyers had positioned themselves. With their fighters now all landed to escape the thread of Lovelian anti-aircraft missiles, these shore parties were the only things available on short notice, to give them any sort of extended range. Without them, the Lovelians could roam anywhere. For all they knew, they could be right around the corner. Unfortunately, Shore Party 2 had sighted them coming in just around the corner.
Lt Valeria lifted two fingers to her brow when Captain Scutarius approached, and then led the way to the plotting table.
"Something tells me that I should have placed sonar buoys in more than just the bay itself." He said soberly as he looked over what had become an increasingly familiar map, that of Airosamente Island.
"Shore Party 2 has reported sighting the Lovelian fleet moving southeast at approximately this location." Katharine said, pointing to a small hand-drawn oval made with a grease pencil. It was already just outside of the mouth of the bay.
"They'll be in Radar range any moment, won't they. And in gun range." The Captain commented to himself. "Silvanus, Main Guns?"
Lt Silvanus paused, then said, "Ready with salvo fire."
"Excellent. Radar, once the Lovelian Fleet comes into view, relay to Fire Control. Fire Control, fire as you bear."
"Aye, sir."
"Aye, sir."
"Communications, relay that to all ships. Main Guns on Salvo Fire. Fire as you bear."
"Aye, sir... DÅtÅ and KymothoÄ“ report ready."
A moment of pause filled the Command Center. After it was up, Captain Scutarius turned his head toward the Comm Operator's station.
"...Menippē reports ready, sir."
Katharine held back a sigh. Even the Captain appeared to roll his eyes slightly. He had sent in a request to Nafticon for the necessary authority to relieve Captain Darling of command. A request which was denied, the signature of Captain Bobritsky (in the name of Commodore Octavius). Darling's slowness had gotten on the nerves of the entire command crew of the Halimēdē as they had to wait unnecessarily long for proper responses. Katharine could remember when Captain Scutarius ground his teeth together in anger when he was made to wait almost ten minutes just to talk to Darling.
"Resolving signatures." The Radar Operator reported. On his screen, as Katharine could see, the Radar was isolating and identifying the new radar signatures.
"Captain, message coming in... from the Novatainians."
"Print it out for me."
"Targets locked in." Lt Silvanus stated. "Guns in pos--"
At that moment, the radar image rapidly filled in with random radar signatures. Within seconds, it became as opaque as a jar of jam.
"What is that?" Captain Scutarius asked.
"Radar is being clouded... running back through the record..."
"Fire Control, calculate from their previous headings and fire."
"Aye, sir... Fi--ring!" Lt Silvanus called out, the burst of the Halimēdē's two guns interrupting him mid-word.
"Captain," The Comm Operator began, "printed out." He tore it off at the perforation.
"Thank you, Chief." Captain Scutarius said as took it from the Comm Operator's hand.
"And sir... the Menippē is requesting firing coordinates."
"Are any of the others?"
The Comm Operator typed a short message in. After a moment's pause, two extra lines came up at the bottom. "No, sir. They're using best estimates."
"Radar, send Communications the coordinates." Scutarius ended the command with a sigh. He lifted the printed message up to read it.
The Communications station buzzed. The Comm Operator clicked a button. "Command Center. Green... understood." He turned his head to the Captain. "Sir, Aviation Technicians report a number of large splashes 30 meters to our aft." Another buzz. He turned his head back to his station. "DÅtÅ is reporting grazing impacts on its main deck."Code: Select all

Scutarius paused, then quickly lifted the handset off the Comm Operator's station and pressed one of the buttons on its control panel. "Pilothouse, this is the Captain. All ahead, evasive action." He hung up the handset then said to the Comm Operator, "All ships, evasive action."
Before the Comm Operator could respond with the standard 'Aye, sir', a large explosion rippled through the Halimēdē. The Damage Control Board flashed red lights at the forward end of the superstructure, the pilothouse. As Captain Scutarius regained his footing, another, rather rough explosion shook the ship again. The Damage Control Board flashed throughout the pilothouse again, as well as on the portside further forward.
"Mister Telenia! Go forward with Two Ratings to the Pilothouse!"
"Yes, sir!" Mid Telenia called out with a hoarse voice before rushing forward.
Another, lesser shudder rattled throughout the ship. Captain Scutarius lifted up the printed message.
"Communications, White Flag."
"A-Aye, sir." Getting on the radio, the Comm Operator stated. "Lovelian Fleet, the Acting Commander of the Antican First... Carrier Group requests a ceasefire to discuss terms."

Re: Official War Thread
Summary: Vryholder Rotkin is arrested for hight treason. Jonas made a choice and agrees to stop away the weapons and to fight at one side against the stranger who has captured the Omen. Waiting for instructions.Just after the attack on Ardy’s Reach.
General Victor walked through the office of the Senechal. At 7 o’clock in the morning, Jonas finally entered the room.
“The Nova English are still walking to the wrong side of the island.†By replacing the direction signs around the city where the Nova English were resting, the Maraguans had won time.
“I thought they would have discovered their mistake now already?†said the Senechal.
“Maybe they are confused by the difference of miles and kilometres?â€
“Could be, could be.â€
They had finally seated in the chairs at the desk and Victor took the word again: “There is a reason that the Nova English haven’t changed their direction. They have stopped in the neigbourhood of Ardy’s Reach, if our intelligence are right.â€
The Senechal was the second person who got the news of the destruction of the city of Ardy’s Reach. Thousands of innocent people blown away, a super weapon in the hands of a stranger. The only advantage was that a Nelagan threat was fallen away.
After getting the radio message of Andreas.
Vryholder Tom Rotkin had arrived at the office and walked in with a flair as it was his own palace.
“Your Lokiness, what a tragedy,†he said, “I think you will need to abdicate.â€
“What?†asked the general shocked.
“Yeah. Yeah,†the old grey braincells of Jonas began to work, “WHAT?!â€
“Come on, Your Lokiness. You are losing support and the war. If we want to stay free, then we need a strong, authoritarian leader. Me!â€
“No, I refuse to abdicate.â€
“I can’t force you, Your Lokiness. And you still have some support within the ranks of the nobles. But if we want to stay independent and strong, you must give me the throne!â€
“Err...â€
“Yes, we will fight against the Novatainians and their allies. It will be hard, it can cost hundreds, maybe thousands of lifes, devastation, etc. BUT we will be FREE AGAIN! And a super power everyone is afraid of! Every rebel, even their women and children will be killed as revenge!â€
Jonas began to think, it gave him a headache but he knew that afterwards he would confess it was worth it.
“Vryholder Rotkin,†he began to talk to him, “You have seen this war as a chance to make career. You don’t care about the people in this city, or this country. I’m mislead to long till now. Victor?â€
Victor set a step in the direction of the Senechal and nodded. “Yes, My Lord?â€
“Arrest Lord Rotkin, please. Let us say... because of high treason.â€
Beneath the moustache of Victor came a little smile. “Yes, it’s my pleasure.â€
“What?! This can’t be! You haven’t the right to do this! I’m a Vryholder!â€
“You are a Vryholder who agreed to disband the Groote Schuur between the war. What gives me absolute power. General, you know what to do.â€
And so, Rotkin and the general left the office. Jonas took some radio device out his desk.
“This message is for Eagle, Eagle can you hear me?†Jonas began to talk in the device, “Andreas the Wise, I know you are there somewhere. I agree, let stop this war and unite our power to destroy or capture this evil. While mourning for those who died in this war, we need to think of the future for those who still live. We have an army, what do you expect of us?â€
With this message, and waiting for an answer, Jonas knew he had ended the Maraguan domination over the islands.

Re: Official War Thread
"Straddle on Ship 4." shouted the lookout down the communications funnel to the bridge. Hastings knew that they really should have been updated to electronically but the RLN didn't want to appear that it was common practice to fight without radar.
"Corrected and firing." shouted back X turret's controller. They unleashed their 16 inch shells at the Antican destroyer again. Their ships were increasing speed and manouevring as fast as they could although escape from the bay now looked unlikely with the Lovely Fleet in between them and the open ocean.
Hastings used his binoculars to look at Ship 4 to see what damage X turret was wreaking. The 16 inch shells impaced on the forward superstructure of the ship, hitting the pilot house and crumpling it under a combination of the kinetic energy of the impact and explosion. The previous straddling shell had damaged the rear of the ship. The signal aboard the Spexico, "Oh hear them when they cry to thee for those in peril on the sea.", seemed ever more appropriate now. The return fire was now coming back at the Lovely fleet. He saw an explosion further up the fleet as a shell impacted on HMLS Tovey's superstructure. She slowly and ardusouly turned to port, dropping out of the line. The Hood was next to receive fire, small impacts on her armour plating which was holding steady against the relatively light calibre guns. Triton's radar tower exploded next, showering the ship with shrapnel and the remainder of the tower crumpled onto its starboard hull structure. Still her two forward 6 inch guns fired though.
Hastings turned back to view the Antican fleet. The ship that had been hit by Spexico was now flying a white flag.
"Cease fire on that ship." ordered Hastings. He looked around the remainder of the fleet as X and Y turret turned their attentions towards another ship. Yet soon enough that ship flew the white flag also. Soon the entire Antican fleet was flying the flag of truce, or surrender depending on your viewpoint.
"All ships, cease fire!" shouted Hastings as one gun of X turret fired its last shot of the battle. Even after his order had been effectively communicated to the rest of the fleet, HMLS Hood's rear turret still fired off one last salvo, much to his annoyance. He'd need to have a word with Emily after that.
"Send a radio signal to the Antican Fleet. Request a meeting, either aboard Spexico or Hood or on the land. Report back to Home on this." ordered Hastings in a calm manner. The Tovey still spewed out black smoke while the Antican Fleet smouldered from its hits also.
Peace had broken out.
Summary:
HMLS Tovey has been hit. It is fighting fires in its crew quarters.
HMLS Triton has lost its main radar capabilities.
A few more salvos were fired against the Antican Fleet before the ceasefire request was seen by the Lovely fleet.
Request for talks sent to the Anticans.

Re: Official War Thread
The command staff of the expeditionary force were all sat in the fold away chairs around the mapping table in the command tent. Reinhardt was reading over the proposed treaty that had been drawn up by the Praetor Extrarius, the Praetor with responsiblity for Foreign Affairs, Viscount Eden. Guido Zambelis as he was also known had hastily drawn up the treaty for General Reinhardt to present to his opposite number who would represent the Novatainians. As the tinny voice of King Andreas attempted to boom across the radio, he put the treaty aside. The Novatainians were attempting to lecture him on peace and honour whilst they threw back in his face a perfectly reasonable ceasefire request so he could present this treaty. He did not want an unnecessary fight, despite his antipathy towards the Novas and Tokis. As such he began to shout orders as the command staff rose with him.
"Emile, have the Spexicans hold our left, the 2nd Guards to hold the centre and the 3rd Guards to hold the right. I want the King's Artillery deployed so as to allow the maximum coverage of our beachead. Get the Anti-Air Artillery set up and ready to hit anything they attempt to throw at us." shouted Reinhardt as Emile ran out of the tent to get in touch with the COs of those regiments.
"Basingham, move your force to here. Set up camoflage and be ready to deploy at a moments notice. I want to take no chances. Colonel Yelir, make sure our air support is ready to take off at a moments notice too and have our RLAF Sentinel up scanning the area too." ordered Reinhardt. He looked over to his aide, Major Brittain.
"Draft the following statement, Major. 'This is General Reinhardt of the Lovely Army, veteran of the War of Matbaaic Liberation and loyal Lovely. I have offered you peace. I have offered you the chance for honour. I have offered us both the chance to destroy or capture the Omen. I make one more offer of peace; we will lay down our arms if you lay down yours. You ask us to move our force away in 4 hours. The Behemoth has already departed so we have nowhere to go. If you are serious in your final offer, provide us with the transport out of here and we will gladly go. You ask us to help your civilians? With all the forces you have here you can do it yourself. With a barrier of your own soldiers in between us and your civilians, how are we expected to aid your evacuation? Perhaps it is you, yes you, who should be evacuating your civilians before attempting to engage us.' They will listen to that. Speaking half truths and false and empty words to us is despicable. They want to fight us while hiding behind those words."
The remainder of the command staff looked at him as he ended his speech. They felt the same sense of betrayal as he did.
Summary:
Lovely forces will lay down arms if similiar gesture followed by Novatainians.
Due to the fact that the Behemoth has gone to help Scott evacuate Nang (and its civilians), Lovely forces request safe passage off the island by Novatainian transports.
Still on high alert and defensive positions set up.
The L-SAS are moving to a secret location.
OOC: Lord Montague is dead and has been for a while now. Anthony Montague does not use his titles unless on very official occasions. The fight up north with the Anticans is being conducted by Admiral Paul Hastings (introduced in the War of Matbaaic Liberation) and Rear-Admiral Emily Hastings-Packard (introduced in MWW2). Also considering the Anticans and Lovely are on the verge of peace up around Airosamente, I suggest you call of Prodigy Andreas.

Re: Official War Thread
Summary: Lovely don't appear to have read the offer to them very carefully. So I've done the opposite, and taken them up on the non-stupid part of theirs. NSS Camel is coming out to pick them up and take them away. I've allowed two trawlers in case of mines (as well as deliberately going through deeper water), though for both our sakes, Monty, it would be easier if you just didn't ask for mines to be triggered this time. A copy of the conversation surrounding the message is being sent to several Novatainian cities and two news services, so if Lovely reneg on their offer or turn treacherous, the whole world will quickly know. The Camel is, like all ships, easily trackable to Novatainian forces, so if things go pear shaped, it can be taken down. Message also sent to the Batavians (just read it above) and to the Iceberg, telling it the official route it can follow (as with the Camel, if you'd like to radio in the location of mines to avoid it, you're most welcome to do so). Andreas awaits finally Lovely response (choice of destination island) and then will depart to investigate the archaeology. There may be more important stuff I missed in this summary - I suggest you just read the post if parts are relevant to you."Sir, they're bastards," one of the Lieutenants said, listening to the message. "You explained it perfectly clearly. Peace is great. If they want peace, why do they need to be in a state of occupation on our island? They seem to have ignored that part of your message. They're either highly mentally deficient, or they're bluffing to attack."
"They are unaware of the course of recent history, certainly," Mel'Kat observed. "They seem to misunderstand the offers and statements regarding civilians. They were given a free chance to help Nova Kajar, which they refused. Upon that refusal, the marines in Nova Kajar mobilised. The 'wall of troops' is one of their doing. They say we should evacuate our civilians before engaging - they miss the fact we already have evacuated Nova Kajar, and the civilians we want them to evacuate are the Batavian ones - and we stated our reasons clearly why we could not, at the present time, do that."
"Though with the Batavians kinda offer ..." Ben Gryphon began.
"Quiet please," Andreas asked calmly. "Get me a map, would you? A sea chart, to be precise." Someone did, and Andreas pulled a ruler out of his pocket. He measured the fastest route to Nova Kajar, though sticking to the deeper water, 'as those shallow mines won't be there'. He then calculated the length his fleet would normally travel in a day of sailing. "Do you sail at night also? Is that included in this figure?" he asked Mel'Kat.
"Sometimes, yes," Mel'Kat replied.
"Well, assuming worst case for time then ...."
He made a few more calculations, and said, "Right. About 80 minutes."
"What?" asked a few onlookers.
"About 80 minutes," Andreas replied. "It'll take about 80 minutes for NSS Camel to sail around to Nova Kajar. Give them four hours from their to embark. Drop them off on the northern islands. Their iceberg can pick them up again later."
"But ... they could take control of the carrier? How can we trust them?" a Lieutenant exclaimed.
"We can't," Andreas said simply. "Neither of us trust eachother one bit, and that's the problem. They refused the nice offer. They refused the fair offer plus threat. We refused their offer which probably sounded half reasonable to them, but begs a lot of questions (like why they landed in the first place and why they should be allowed to stay). They seem to be so arrogant they won't take anything that's not on their terms. So we'll give them their terms. They said 'provide a transport ship' and so we will. If they stuff it up after that, they're going down ... and I don't just mean militarily. You see, I took the liberty to record our conversation when they first broadcasted their response and afterwards. It has an electronic timestamp and everything. As soon as they've got our response, a copy of that recording is going to Ambassador, Anqh-Morham, my USB ... and the INS and Millenium News. If they turn on the Carrier - or even if they snub their nose up at the offer, after requesting it - their international cred is gone. They're every bit the treacherous murdering rats we've allowed for in our calculations. And one thing Lovely can't afford to lose is the little positive international cred they've got. And for the record, since this is being recorded, I didn't say that Lovely are treacherous murdering rats. I merely said we allowed for that possibility in our caluclations." Andreas turned to Mel'Kat.
"Dispatch the NSS Camel, with ... two of the trawlers in front of it. The route I've sketched shouldn't be possible to lay the mines we encountered in, but better safe than sorry. If they do know of mines, hopefully they'll have the deceny to radio ahead to stop us hitting them. There's not a minute to be wasted."
"As you will, my Baron," Mel'Kat replied, saluting, and left to make the arrangements. Andreas turned to those remaining.
"Time for another radio response," he said. "This time, don't bother recording it beforehand - just transmit it straight there. Allows us to keep our other recording going untampered."
He pulled the radio mike close to his mouth, and began to speak, broadcasting to the Lovely forces. "King Andreas here again. You guys seem to mistake honour for weakness. You had the chance for both of us to lay down our weapons with the first offer. You refused that, remember? You seem to have missed this fact in our second offer, so I'll stress it again. Peace is great, but you don't need to be sitting on our island, preparing to treacherously attack if things go wrong, while we're negotiating it. It seems clear you don't understand long winded, carefully explained clauses in instructions, otherwise you wouldn't have tried for a third way in our offer. Lucky none of you are negotiating the treaty, eh?" That got a laugh. "So I'll give you a simple one. I'm stopping the one-up-man-ship, and giving you what you requested - a ticket home. Our own transport ship has already departed and is coming around to get you. It'll take about 80 minutes. Because I'm feeling generous, you can have five hours, 20 minutes from the moment the carrier launched. So that means you'll have about four hours when it arrives to disembark. The carrier will take you to Sekatutet or Amoria - your choice, please radio back your response now before you embark. It'll leave you there for your iceberg to pick you up after you've got the Paladins. We'll tell your iceberg which route to go safely just after this message. I don't know how much you've paid attention to the main fleet, but there were some mines on our last patrol route. If you know where they are, or can find out quickly, I suggest you radio back any between Bryden and Nova Kajar. Because the five hours 20 minutes counts regardless of whether the ship gets through without hitting mines or not. The lives of our sailors on that ship are in your hands. I hope that's trust enough."
He put it down, then immediately gave orders for the Iceberg to be radioed an official route to follow, to keep it from landing early with any treachery, and hopefully to keep it away from mines also. "Allow deviation for mines only if they radio and ask permission BEFOREHAND," Andreas stressed. Then a message was sent to the Batavians, thanking them for their prompt and wise response, assuring history would remember them, and warning them to expect some Lovely forces on their northern islands soon. Details were also sent about how best to minimise deaths should the Omen approach one of their cities. Then he turned off the recording for the journo's and began to transmit it to them.
"Oh, and another thing," Andreas added. "NSS Camel, like all Novatainian ships, can be tracked. It's how we stay in contact with eachother. Get them to make five minute radio reports after they pick up Lovely. If the Lovelians do pull something treacherous ... we can blast them out of the waters. With warning to the crew to evacuate first, if possible."
The assembled commanders nodded. This sounded a more sensible course.
"I'll await the final Lovely response, then I'm off to Provost," Andreas announced. "There's something I want to see."
"But the Paladins are leaving ... being picked up. You don't need to talk to them," a Lieutenant protested.
"Did I say talk?" Andreas replied, with a grin. "There are diggings there. I want to see what they found."

The Book of Backstory: Chapter IV
And then Marika died.
She perished at the hand of a god, literally. While she working on a renovation of the Temple of Meskan in Tala, there was an earthquake and the huge stone idol of Meskan fell on her, the hand breaking her neck. I never saw the body. Whatever gift had allowed me to see my wife in life vanished at the moment of her death. My friends told me she looked peaceful. I was anything but.
I raised Nele as best I could. It was not very well. By now, I was one of Yyiji's rare confidantes, and tended to fly all over the world doing odd jobs for the Raikothin State. Nele came with me. I tried to educate her myself, but the thing I knew were all at one remove from a child's normal learning. I am afraid she turned out...odd. There was always something different about her. She never had any interest in other children, or in games.
"She is of Meskan, you know," a voice told me, one day. I looked up to see the god Sakat, ancient and dire. Nele and I were on a plane to Hamland to discuss trade arrangements for their succulent ham. She was fast asleep. I hadn't expected the old squid-god's appearance, but when I thought about it I supposed we were in fact over the water.
"What's that?" I asked him. I was tired, and the squid-god was a terrible conversationalist and one of the less interesting of the supernaturals to talk to. Nevertheless, one did not simply dismiss a god.
"Your daughter is of Meskan. Who is my enemy. In this matter." The god seemed angry. Most gods were, most of the time, but he had a special look of malice.
"Don't you dare hurt her," I said, staring him right in his huge eye. Then I turned away. As confrontational as I wanted to be, Sakat's eye was not healthy to look into for too long.
"I am not hurting. I am warning. You and I, we are together on this. Meskan kills your wife. Will kill. Has killed."
"That was an idol," I told him. "The idol fell over and crushed her. Not the actual Meskan."
"There is providence in the fall of a sparrow," hissed Sakat, his eyes flashing. "You do not think there is none in the fall of a two ton marble statue of a deity? Meskan uses your wife as a tool. Now he gets a new tool. He destroys the old so it will not be used by others."
"Marika was a devotee of Meskan, one of his truest worshippers," I protested. "He would never harm her."
"She is part of his flock," agreed the Time-God. "And what do shepherds do with their flock? They make mutton."
I sighed. Jet lag was starting to kick in. "What do you want from me, Lord of Time?"
"Do not trust Meskan. He uses your wife, then discards her. Soon, he uses your daughter too. This must not happen."
I looked at Nele, two years old, fast asleep, dead to the world.
"Use her how?"
"Meskan wants what is mine," said Sakat. "He does not have it. But he thinks to gain it by trickery. Your daughter is a trick. When he uses her, it is over for you."
My heart hardened. "Thank you, Sakat," I said. "You have my word that no one will take my daughter away from me, not if all the fish of Balgurd should come after her."
Without a response, the god disappeared. Then there was another tingling in the air, and Meskan appeared, his long blue hair resplendant against his saffron robes.
"Meskan," I asked. "Did you kill my wife?"
Meskan looked at me dispassionately, but did not answer. He looked about to say some extremely enlightened sounding thing about giving up attachment to other humans. So I wound my finger counterclockwise and banished him. He disappeared with a whistling noise, and immediately tried to rematerialize. I wound my finger again."
Nele woke up then and pursed her lips. "Who?" she asked, in her two year old way.
"A bad man," I said. " A very bad man. Who is not coming back."
Summary: Ships begin evacuating Nang to the Behemoth. Anyone who wishes to disrupt our evacuation effort should do it now (the procedures being used for the evacuation were spelled out on a previous post.) Once all the Paladins are aboard, we will generally follow Montague's lead in either observing or not observing a cease-fire with Novatainia. It was midnight, but the heat of the Nelagan coast was still oppressive. Which made it all the more unusual to see the giant iceberg silently gliding towards them.
"Chances of attack?" Tephi asked General Scussion. They were taking a major risk by coming on the first boat themselves, but they thought it necessary to inspire the men.
"Hard to say," said Scussion. "Novatainia has been attempting to negotiate a cease-fire with Lovely. Lovely has agreed to a different cease-fire, but not exactly the terms Novatainia wants. Novatainia seems pretty angry about the whole thing. We suspect they won't fire on us until the entire issue is cleared up one way or another, by which point we should be on the ships."
"Which is sort of unfair," mused Tephi.
"Better unfairness than ten thousand Paladins dying," said Scussion. "Besides, we planned this evacuation before anyone mentioned cease-fires. It's not our fault if, when the time came, we had an unfair advantage."
"True," said Tephi. "Can you believe it, Scussion? A viyutere, here in Nelaga. We tried to bring ours here, but the refridgeration technology just wouldn't've been able to cope. The Lovelians must have figured it out. I have a feeling Yyiji will be out to buy whatever cooling system they're using, and that Home will be able to name its price."
The iceberg ship that approached was larger than the Queen of Night's Repentant Children, and more artificial, with obvious decks, towers, and runways carved into its surface. The worksmanship was less intricate than on the Raikothin vessel, but more complete, with barely a hint of the berg's natural shape left intact. It was an awesome construction, and one entirely deserving of the name Behemoth.
Their boat docked with the lower part of the huge vessel, and Tephi and General Scussion preceded the rest of their men in, where they were ushered into the captain's quarters. The ship was cool, but not freezing like Repentant Children, and the Lovelians had clearly invested more time and energy into insulation technology.
One of the Lovely guards escorting them stopped. "The Lady Rebecca Panks."
The Lady sat in her chamber, surrounded by maps of the Nelagan Isles and of Lovely's own territory. Tephi and Scussion both bowed.
"I am Tephi Ara Gal Sekion, Adjunct to Yyiji Tonkothion, Prince-Elder of the Barony of Kai-Raikoth in Shireroth. And this is General Richard Scussion of the Shirerithian Army. We are in your debt for your timely rescue of our forces." He handed her a wreath of silver flowers and a bottle of red thistle-wine. "Gifts from our people to show our appreciation."
Scussion spoke up. "Sorry, I'm a military man and not one for formalities. Mind telling us what's going to happen next?"
"That," said Rebecca "depends a lot upon Anthony Montague and King Andreas."

Nickleson’s Backstory, part 1 of 3
Eight years ago
The stealth submarine Blue Island was completing its post-mission operations within the docks. Nickleson and Radru oversaw it from the cave’s upper levels, near their offices. The crew was in high spirits tonight. It was their first day on dry land in about two weeks. The good news was that they were being paid handsomely for it.
Nickleson said, “Good mission, that. Perfectly executed too. They never even saw us coming.â€
“A bit too easy,†Radru replied. “The guy that hired us to do this way overpaid.â€
“His loss, our gain,†Nickeson said with a grin.
Radru returned it. “For sure. That’s what mercenaries like us are for; we separate fools from their money. We’re a natural part of the system.â€
“Think the Esthar navy will ever find this place?†Nickleson asked suddenly. “That would be a real shame.â€
Radru laughed. “Are you kidding? We’ve had hired goons try to trail us here for years now. Nobody can track the Blue Island if we won’t let them.â€
“True,†Nickleson said.
Radru continued, “Plus, I don’t think the Esthar navy is really trying to sniff us out. We don’t usually move against the Esthar government, at least without getting obscenely well paid for it.â€
“Also true,†Nickleson agreed. “I guess it’s not worth worrying about it.â€
“It’s really not,†Radru said. “Life for us as mercenaries is good. The men are a good crew. The Blue Island is good ship. Heck, even Esthar is good place to lay low.â€
“Careful what you say; they could make a loyalist out of you yet,†Nickleson said.
“Bah,†Radru bahed. “I’m going to go get some drinks with the men. Care to come?â€
Nickleson shook his head. “I’m getting to bed. We need to get ready for the next assignment. Gunna see if I can haggle up the price a bit, claim extra expenses. You know the drill.â€
“Right. See you tomorrow, then.â€
Nickleson awoke in his apartment in Port Chole, Stormark. He had an afternoon appointment with a potential job, but that wasn’t for several more hours. Plenty of time to head down to the local deli and get a bite to eat.
As Nickleson approached the deli, he made eye contact with a scruffy man across the street. Nickleson played with the change in his pocket. Only a few coins. That begger wasn’t going to get anything from him. Much to his shock and annoyance, the man rushed across the street right at Nickleson. He tried to pretend he didn’t see and stepped up his pace, but the man ran right up to him.
“Nickleson! Nickleson! Hey, man, been looking all over for you!†he exclaimed.
“Yes…†Nickleson said awkwardly. “Do I know you?â€
The man stared at him. “Damnit Nickleson. It’s me; Radru!â€
“Who?â€
“Radru. Your partner. Man, what the hell? I woke up today and the place had been cleared out. The Blue Island wasn’t in dock. And I came topside and everything seems out of place here. Do you know what’s going on?â€
“No, I don’t,†Nickleson said truthfully. “And I have no idea who you are and what you want. Look, here, just take some change if that’s what you’re after.†He fished in his pockets. A few coins was a small price to get out of this, after all.
The man looked angry. “That’s not funny. Damnit Nickleson. Where’s the Blue Island?â€
“The Blue Island? It sank five years ago. How the hell do you even know about that? Who ARE you?†Nickelson was beyond lost at this point.
The man narrowed his eyes. He said, “You really don’t know me? Radru? We grew up together in Esthar Clara.â€
“Never heard of it. Or you.†Nickleson had almost reached the deli.
The man stopped. “So. You’re like everything else here, then,†he said somewhat sadly.
Nickleson didn’t reply and ducked in the doors of the deli. The strange man stared in at him for a while, then wandered off.
Present Day
FIoJ Fist Omen-Class Gravship, hovering over the ruins of Ardy’s Reach
It’s amazing what you remember sometimes, Nickleson mused.
Still, this was hardly the place or the time. During its repairs and recharging of the Hypon Capactors that had stranded them temporarily over Ardy’s Reach, the Omen had picked up some of the chatter going back and forth between both sides of the war. There was even talk of a ceasefire, even lasting peace, to combat them! The showing a few days ago had gotten their attentions at last.
“Sir, all stations report we are ready to move. Shall I set course for Enhasa? We could be there within only a few hours,†the bridge hand reported.
“Enhasa,†Nickleson mused. That had been Harvey’s original target; to wipe out the Maraguoan resistance in one swift blow. Even though they were at cross-purposes now, Nickleson had to admit that wasn’t a bad strategy. But it also wasn’t the best one, given his personal mission.
He said, “No. Maraguo is weak; they cower behind Lovely’s protection. Swatting them like the bugs they are would be effortless for the FIoJ Fist, but also a waste our time. It seems our enemies are preparing to rally against us. Yet, their distrust must run high, and I’m sure they don’t yet know how to stop us. If we can hit them both while they are still unprepared, we can shatter this alliance with one, swift stroke. Captain, make course for the Nelagan capital of Nova Kajar.â€
The bridge hand smiled and saluted. “Sir! All hands, report! We are moving out.†He was zealous for a fight. All of Nickleson’s hand-picked crew were. They knew how big their cut would be if they pulled this mission off.
Summary: very odd backstory about Nickleson. The Omen has started moving towards the city of Nova Kajar. Harvey, Areuhat, Nicholas, and Lucious are approaching Maraguo by jeep to try to negotiate an alliance, unaware of the ceasefire talks that are going on already.Nearing Enhasa
“That’s one hell of a story,†Lucious said with a low whistle.
“Yeah,†Harvey mumbled. “We’ve been working for months upon months, trying to ready Nelaga for a peaceful declaration of independence, and now this. Damn Nickleson!â€
Lucious asked, “What do you know about this Nickleson fellow?â€
“He joined the Gold Eagle Society about eight years ago,†Areuhat said. “Highly recommended from a contact in Stormark. Spotless mercenary record. Real professional guy. Said he wanted to start over, fight for something that would last. We were suspicious at first, but he was a model member of the group. Really helped us out when times were tough.â€
“He’s a very odd character,†Harvey said. “I thought I had a feel for what he was after, but he proved me dead wrong.â€
“We’re comin’ up on Enhasa,†Lucious announced. “I dunno how the Maraguoans will treat us.â€
Harvey said, “We have to try to get them to see our point of view about the Omen. Who knows? Maybe it’ll be easier than we fear.â€
Jonas, Nicholas, kingjosephus; if any of you want your characters that I’ve hijacked back, feel free to write the next post in this storyline.

X-100
The captain of X-100 drank his coffee as he looked around the bridge. The officers were still quietly, some with their eyes closed, some with their heads resting on their hands, while some were playing some tapping to some imaginary music on the softpads.
The sonar operator eyes suddenly widened, and he pressed the headphones against his ears. A few button presses and turning of dials later, he called for the executive officer over. He gave him the second set of headphones without uttering any words. The XO listened to the noise in the headphones. The other officers on the bridge took notice of this, including the captain, and they quickly sat back in their chairs in an upright position. They were waiting for the XO to show signs of some sort of enemy action outside in the waters. The XO, being aware of this, put the headphones back down calmly, and whispered something to the sonar operator. He then walked over to the captain.
"You should come take a look at this."
As the two senior officers got to the sonar operator's desk, the XO started talking again.
"Alright. Listen to this." and handed the captain the headphones. The captain listened to it for a few seconds and quickly removed it.
"Ok, how far is this? What is the course?"
The sonar operator punched a button and the screen ahead showed information on the screen that looked similar to a radar screen on board aircrafts.
"It could be a submarine. It certainly sounds mechanical. We are running it through the computer, but we can't match it to anything." said the operator.
"Could it be that new all-electric submarine the Tokens were rumored to have?" asked the XO to the other two officers.
"It could be. This is the first time we are hearing it. We do not have record of this." informed the operator.
"Alright. Record as much of it as possible. Keep a track on this 'ship' source. Call it Jain. And let me know if it deviates from its path."
"Yes Captain."
The captain and the XO walked back towards their positions, whispering to each other.
"The torpedoes?"
"We are ready to fire all four torpedoes, captain. The tubes are already flooded and doors are open. We can fi..."
"CAPTAIN!"
The XO was interrupted in his whisper by the sonar operator, who this time had felt the need to call the captain directly. Now, every other officer on the bridge was aware of a potentially serious threat existing outside the confines of their submarine. The two senior officers quickly moved to the sonar operator's desk and put a headphone on.
"There. Do you hear it? Behind the noise made by Jain. Its very faint. The computer shows its almost similar to Jain, though low amplitude, same frequency."
"Where is it?" asked the curious XO.
"2000 feet on port side. Jain is about 3000 feet on port side."
"Alright, mark this Seatine. Make a record of this reading quickly and send it to X-1000 immediately. Inform X-101 of potential enemies in the region." said the captain, "And look for more of these buggers. Intel said they had put to sea at least five of these."
The senior officers walked over to their positions in the middle of the bridge, discussing their next move.
"Jain seems to be damaged. If it was not, it should be as stealthy as the Seatine."
"Agreed."
"Captain, I recommend one torpedo against Jain and two against Seatine. Both wire-guided."
"Yes. That leaves us with one torpedo against any threat that is around us. At least for the time being."
"We'll reload the tubes quickly. I'll have the second round of torpedoes on immediate reload standby."
"Good. But what do we do when we suddenly see a whole bunch of these all-electric ships next to us the moment we strike two of theirs?"
"Counter measures... Hopefully 101 would have picked up some other ships as well..."
"Yes. Our two, and their hopefully two, if they get two detected in the first place that is. That's four. And then a few more to find. I tell you.. I hate it if that thing is this quiet."
"Yes sir. I'll..."
"CAPTAIN. I am seeing one, possibly two more ships heading our way." cried the sonar officer, "wait... Contact. Codename Empire. Captain... its heading straight for us. 5000 feet."
All the officers on the bridge looked at the captain, with one or two with their jaws fallen. The captain took a deep breath.
"Red alert!"
"RED ALERT!" screamed the XO.
"Assign Jain to Tube One. Tubes Two and Three to Seatine. Tube Four to Empire."
"Aye captain." screamed one of the officers.
"Ranges to targets?"
"Empire 5000 feet dead ahead. Jain 3500 feet port side. Seatine, 2200 feet port side."
"What's the last known location of One oh One ?" asked the captain.
"Quite a distance. Starboard side captain." replied the XO. The exact position of the other submarine was not known, as both the ships were to be completely quiet.
"Alright. Send the recordings to ex one thousand and one oh one. Tell them what to look for."
"Yes sir." said the XO. It was an important task and he felt necessary to attend to it personally.
"Ranges to targets?" asked the captain again. After recieveing the new values, he ordered the firing of the four torpedoes, on wire-guidance. The water ram explusion system kicked in at low power and gently pushed the four torpedoes out of the submarine extremely quietly. Three of them turned towards port side, while the later headed straight out.
X-101
"CAPTAIN! Multiple Contacts. Really far. Cancer class submarines."
"FIRE ZE TORPEDOZZ !" cried the over eager captain.
"FIRE THE TORPEDOES!"
"FIRING THE TORPEDOES!"
"TORPEDOES FIRED!" came the eventual reply.
The XO of X-101 soon took out his watch and started the timer. Minutes into the attack on the cancer class submarines, the communications officer recieved an incoming message and called the captain over. He handed out the information to the captain.
"Pazz thiz over to ze zonar operatore." and as he said that, the captain walked over to the sonar operator's desk.
"One hundred claims this to be the new submarine of the enemy. Did you hear any of these?"
The sonar operator listened to the newly available recording for a while, and then removed his headphones.
"Possibly sir. I can't tell."
"Zhit," said the captain. He knew the enemy submarines could now be anywhere. "Well continue. And find thezze idioatz."
X-1000
The incoming message contained a recording of what was believed to be the noise made by the new all-electric submarines of the enemy. It had provided the surface fleet with two important information. First, how to look for the enemy ships. Second, the enemy ships were in bound.
Anti-submarine warfare units were now going to busy in over time.
"Inform the follower ships to be on anti-air operations. I dont want to be caught looking for enemy submarines only for the enemy aircrafts to bomb us from Toketi. Keep an AWACS up at all times looking as far out as possible. It would be nice to know enemy attack before they get close enough to find us. Keep an extra pair of aircrafts with full air to air loadout ready just incase enemy does show. Inform everyone. We are now back to battle stations." said the captain of X-1000. He knew what he had to do and didn't need HIM to tell him what to do.
Summary:
Everyone is now aware of enemy submarines, including surface fleet, which is now looking for submarines as well as aircrafts.
X-101 fires 4 torpedoes at 3 Cancer class submarines. they were detected on long range. and since you said they were within a minute or 2 of coming to aid, that means, they are easily in range of my ships. After firing the torpedoes, it found out about the possibility of the mini-subs being present all around it.
X-100 fires 4 torpedoes at 4 mini-subs, one of them is the damaged one. It hasn't yet detected the Cancer class submarines.
All torpedoes are wire-guided. My submarines were extremely quiet when firing the torpedo. The wires will be cut when the torpedoes are seconds from impact, or if the firing ship of mine gets detected.
Secret move sent to judge.

(no time for backstory atm sorry)
Summary:
Lovely forces evacuate but not before marching through the city of Nova Kajar to the docks. They are going to Armoria.

I think you have your directions mixed up Monty. The docks 'near' Nova Kajar are several miles away at least - the city is inland. Unless you're saying you landed, pitched camp on the beach, and then walked into the city just as an incitement to be slaughtered before walking back the way you'd come to disembark?

Summary:Mini subs: As soon as the wounded sub picks up the torpedoes it starts actively pinging, then launches its own weapons and attempts to emergency surface. the counter fails and the sub goes down with all hands.CAA Gomeisa
"CAPTAIN! Torpedoes in the water!"
"Contact on source?"
"Negitive sir 5 seconds to impact"
"Ping forward and launch tubes one and two."
The active sonar ping tore through the ocean and like a candle in a dark room shed light on what was hidden. the ping rebounded off not only the enemy sub but also the four subs that had been about to pass it by now each of them was aware of the presence of the others. This was going to get ugly.
"Contact torpedoes away sir"
"Blow the ballast tanks!"
--------------------------------------------
X-100
All was well until the sound of active sonar reverberated through the ship.
"Sir they have us, torpedoes imbound"
"Cut the wires evasive action."
The 100's sonar operator watched as the Gomeisa tried to escape from the inbound torpedoes as it erupted in a wall of foaming bubbles and tried to dash for the surface, as the torpedo struck it in the rear and sheared the aft segment of the sub from the rest. then he snapped back to reality.
"Four inbound torpedoes sir... make that five... seven... nine...
---------------------------------------------------------
X-101
"Time to impact 30 seconds... 20... Sir enemy subs are accelerating and taking evasive action. Torpedo tracking still appears to be good. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Sir something is wrong... those impacts didn't sound right."
"What do you mean"
"All i heard was torpedoes 2 and 4 detonate I didn't pick up any sounds to suggest a sub taking on water."
"What are you saying?"
"I'm saying i dont think we got them skipper. New contact it sounds sorta like that recording we just got in... except... bigger... Cancer sub coming right at us. Its pinging."
"Prepare to fire"
"Imbound torpedoes"
"Torpedoes away"
Another sub lets say the CAA Kraz suffers a near impact and begins to leak also loses maneuverability.
five mini subs engage three that were coming up fire forward tubes. the one that was with the wounded one fires its aft tube as it attempts to out run its torpedo (CAA Kraz) and the CAA fornacis come about (it was the one behind you) and fires both forward tubes.
total 9 torpedoes
remaining mini's stop moving and wait to see what the first volley does before engaging
Cancer subs: as your torpedoes are closing on pack 3 the subs launch decoys (which sound like the subs if they were to increase speed for evasive maneuvers) drop down to running silent speeds and close in. (each sub had a decoy ready from the attack i was planning on your surface forces)
CAA Keid closes and pings your sub both subs now have a 'lock' on each other keid fires 5 torpedoes at x-101
Alkes and Turais who performed similar maneuvers each fire 4 torpedoes at x-101 using the active ping from keid to target.
the Subra drops to silent and adjusts coarse to avoid the battle and join up with pack 1
packs 1 and 2 continue onward (closing distance but not yet engaging or moving to engage.)

To turn time shortage into:
SUMMARY:
Several supply planes (of mine) are hijacked, which then crash land in the ocean. Scalziin are investigating the matter. Strangely, nobody is found on the planes.

Re: Official War Thread
Anyway, moving on. This is my "response" to Monty's "move" (things get weird when you work together with your enemies).
Summary: Lovely troops dropped off at Amoria. After they've disembarked and NSS Camel begins to sail away, it fires off fireworks that for a few seconds show the Nelagan flag in the sky. Caspian wins his bet with Frederick. Destination of NSS Camel pm'd to judges. It was now nightfall, and the NSS Camel had finished disembarking the last of the Lovely troops on Amoria. Apart from a slight attempt at provocation at the start, the trip had gone without incident, and they had begun disembarking in early evening, when they had arrived. As the last Lovely soldier went off, the gangplanks were pulled quickly up, and the ship began to head off again. Then there was the sound of an explosion from the top of the ship. Many Lovely soldiers turned, expecting last minute treachery ... but then there was a boom overhead, and the unmistakeable sound of ... fireworks. The ship was sending up fireworks.
And what fireworks. Suddenly a dozen shot up at once and exploded at once. The colours lit up the sky in the unmistakeable shape of a flag ... but what flag was that? Nobody recognised it. Though that eagle looked like something on the Maraguoan flag. Or was it off the Jasonian.
"It's the Nelagan flag," one soldier cried in a bout of inspiration. Just for a few seconds, the Nelagan flag was flying over Amoria. The lights lingered awhile, as if loathe to leave, but eventually they fell into the sea in a shower of sparks, and the spectacle was over, and NSS Camel sailed off into the night.
On the shores of Nelaga, the troops raised their head at the sound of an explosion from the north. Even from this distance, they could faintly make out the sign of the Nelagan flag. "Lovely's flying the Nelagan flag!" one soldier cried.
"Maraguo's submitted!" another declared.
Frederick and Caspian (who had arrived on the island earlier that evening), meanwhile, who had been privy to this development earlier, looked at eachother. Sighing, Frederick handed over several CP to Caspian, who pocketed it. He'd won his bet. The Nelagan flag had flown over Maraguo.
Summary: Andreas makes his way to Provost island. I think Scott's evacuated by now but I'm posting this just in case he wants to respond.Lovely had conceded - finally. Loss of life had been avoided, they were off his island and thus no longer a threat, and they had landed safely - though Andreas only learnt that later. Soon after the carrier had arrived near Nova Kajar and not been shot at, Andreas had left, making his way overland towards Provost. And he had with him a dinghy.
The Hyperborean evacuation should be well underway by now, he thought. Still, taking no chances, he wove a web of illusion about himself, obscuring him and the dinghy from view. Finally, he reached the river that separated Provost from Nelaga. He began to row his way across, hoping he would not be attacked.

Acting Commander of the Antican First Carrier Group goes to meet the Lovelian Fleet's commander landside.Antican Destroyer Halimēdē
Anthony Scutarius ran a comb through his hair. In the mirror, he could see a few more grey hairs than last. No matter, he thought. His hand flipped the light off and he returned to the main room of his cabin. Out of his closet, he removed a dress tunic. Added onto that standard uniform, he fastened his dress belt. He adjusted it until the buckle was perfectly at the center, between the bottom two buttons of the tunic, and the loop properly positioned on his left hip. In through that loop went his Captain's Sword, taken down from his wall display. Once the scabbard was firmly secure in place, he put his hand on the grip and slid the sword out to hold before him.
It had first been presented to him upon his appointment as Captain of the Cruiser Liberty during the Civil War, and it had been in his possession since. On the lower wall display stand was his first ceremonial sword, accepted when he graduated from the now closed Naval Academy in Liminias. That had been his sword since then until he had been given this. Anthony returned his Captain's Sword to its scabbard and removed it from his belt. In its place, he instead wore his old sword, keeping his sheathed Captain's Sword in his hand.
"Chief Petty Officer Russell reports that the Lovelian Commander has reached the site." Lt Ischyrius reported once Captain Scutarius stepped out onto the landing pad. The meeting location for the two sides was decided to be a neutral place landside, which happened to be near where Shore Party 2 had been position. Scutarius told them to set up a field tent. They then chose to furnish it with a table and chairs filched from a nearby town. "The Landing Party is assembled."
CPO Tyson, CPO Anders, PO Robins, PO Glenn, Spc Walters, Spc Ryder, Spc Harris, and Spc Fletcher stood at attention. Standing in front of them, Lieutenant Valeria raised her index and middle fingers to her temple to salute. Each was in full dress uniform.
Anthony Scutarius turned to look out off the starboard side. In the distance stood the Lovelian Fleet. To the ship's port side, the other Antican destroyers. He looked back to Lt Ischyrius to say, "First Lieutenant, you have the ship." and then made his way to the waiting helicopter, the Landing Party filing in behind him.
