Fish Food Curry
X-100
"Cutting wires on torpedoes.... Wires are cut." said an officer quietly, but loud enough to let the captain hear it.
The XO walked over to the intercom and pressed the button for talking directly to the torpedo room.
"Reload torpedoes in all tubes" he said, and then released the button.
PING! The noise went through the ship and caught everyone off guard. They were unsure what really happened, who went with active sonar, or what was going on suddenly. But what they did do, was quickly react to it with what they had been trained to do.
"Load the ATTs" screamed the XO into the intercom.
"Loading ATTs" came the reply from the torpedo room.
The captain looked over at the XO and acknowledged it. He too would have done the same and his nod to the XO was more of a sign of 'yes you did the right job'. Within a few seconds, the submarine felt another movement from the outside world. The explosion of CAA Gomeisa had sent a few waves in all direction and all ships, including those hundreds of miles far, would have heard it.
"How do we look?" asked the captain, after his nod to the XO, to the sonar operator.
"Captain. Lots of activity here. We got at least three more of those all-electric ships here. We have range and bearing. No heading as of yet."
"What about those torps we launched?"
"One hit. Probably the explosion we felt. Jain (CAA Gomeisa) is out. Wolverine (CAA Kraz) exploded as well, though it seems it was a close one. Something seems to be wrong with them. They are still there but making more noise. A lot more."
Another wave as a result of explosion rocked the submarine. A few pipes began hissing, which were quickly turned off by the officers nearest to them.
"Hurry up officer." informed the Captain, who was now getting restless. There was tonnes of stuff to do, but the junior officer was taking time - valuable time.
"Torp at Seatine (CAA Matar) still on the move. Empire (CAA Mergha) just exploded sir!"
"Yes I felt that" said the captain sarcastically, already planning the next move.
"Er, no sir. That was from Wolverine's explosion. Empire is still going to hit us. And its gonna be a bit bigger. We had a direct hit it seems."
The captain looked over at the officer and knew he made some sense. A quick mental calculations based on speed of sound in water, distance between his ship and Empire, and then suddenly he screamed.
"Brace for impact!"
"Brace for impact!" went the word throughout the ship. And soon enough, the explosion of CAA Mergha came to the X-100. A few more pipes started either steaming or dripping. Some of the officers ran to close all the pipes, including the captain and the XO.
"CONTACT! Enemy torpedoes."
"Range to tor.." was the response from the captain, but was soon cut off by the sonar operator.
"Four inbound torpedoes. No.. five.. seven.. nine. Captain. Nine torpedoes."
Every officer on the bridge stopped fidgeting with the pipes and spent a second looking at the sonar operator and then at the captain.
"Ranges."
"2 at 4000 feet dead ahead. 5 beyond 6000 feet at multiple distances."
The captain ran over to the sonar operator to look at the sonar screen.
"What can you tell me? Give me something.. anything.."
"Yes Sir"
The operator punched a button to show the early detection of enemy ships. Though the bearing and ranges were known, the speed and direction of travel were not known. Same was the case with the enemy. They knew where the X-100 was, but not the direction or speed of travel. But that didn't matter, since the X-100 was not moving at all. It was a disadvantage, or an advantage depending upon how you looked at it.
"Captain, there's one ship behind us. Marked Nixon (CAA Fornacis). The crippled wolverine (CAA Matar) and Seatine (CAA Kraz) on port. And three more directly ahead, marked York, Tuvok and Spock."
"Captain," the XO called him from near the intercoms, "ATTs are loaded and ready."
The captain stared at the screen for a while trying to figure out potential speeds and direction of travel for the enemy ships.
"Nixon seems to have crossed us. So, they might turn to come our way. Though they might as well continue thinking the rest of their fleet will get us. Seatine's running in this direction.. York, Tuvok and Spock are our main threats."
"Captain, time to impact 15 seconds from the lead two torps." informed one of the weapons officers
"Prepare to fire the ATTs at the farthest four torpedoes. Give firing solutions to them."
"Time to impact 12 seconds, CAPTAIN". The officer was worried. The captain was showing no signs of avoiding the immediate threat.
"Release countermeasures in... NOW"
With ten seconds to go, the counter measures were released from the X-100 submarine.
"Counter measures not working...."
"Time to impact 8 seconds.. 7... 6.."
"Activate towed decoy."
"5..."
"Activating towed decoy."
"4... 3... "
"Torpedoes headed towards the decoy."
A sigh of relief from the worried weapons officer was observed by the captain. He simply smiled back at him to let him know that the captain was well in control of himself and was aware of the situation.
"Solutions ready. ATTs waiting launch."
"Fire them."
The four ATTs released in quick succession from the submarine, against the four inbound torpedoes. And there were still one more torpedo to worry about. But hopefully the counter measures should take that into consideration.
"Time to impact. 20 seconds captain." informed the weapons officer.
The XO who had been paying attention to all of the development, walked over to the captain to remind him that this torpedo was not the one being targeted by the ATTs.
"Prepare to release counter-measures and decoys on my mark." responded the captain to the weapons officer. The XO stopped midway in his walk, nodded to the Captain and returned back to the intercom.
"Reload with ATTs" he said to the torpedo room.
The captain looked over at the XO. It was a puzzling move, one that he hadn't yet thought about, but had full confidence in his XO. He didn't question his move. At least not yet in front of the rest of the crew.
"Time to impact, 15 seconds captain."
"How do they know where to fire?" wondered the captain aloud.
Right then, an explosion rocked the ship once more.
"Wohooo," screamed the sonar operator excitedly, "Seatine (CAA Matar) just blew up sir."
The captain smiled, but soon it disappeared as the weapons officer indicated the time to impact.
"Impact in 10 seconds sir."
"Wait.. torpedoe is moving away sir." informed the sonar operator. "Seatine explosion causing some sort of malfunction in it perhaps. Its heading towards Seatine."
"Well, that's good then..." said the captain happily, with a big smile on his face. But that too vanished soon."
"Captain! Two torpedoes. Directly behind us. Launched by...woah. Loads of noise going on back there sir. I am reading atleast five different sets. One Nixon. Four torpedoes."
"FOUR?"
"Yes sir. Wait.. Two of those headed our way. The other two seem to have acquired Nixon. The two that got duped by the decoys and counter-measures perhaps."
"Time to impact?"
"Ahh.... not sure sir. The torpedoes aren't fired directly at us sir. Its heading starboard side. Doesn't seem to have any specific target in mind that I can think off."
"Let me know if it becomes a threat. Status on ATT."
"First three should hit about now. The last two seconds from.. well now, captain"
Four more explosions were to be expected to hit X-100.
"Brace for impact!"
The four explosions soon came. And the combined effect knocked out several pipes and computer systems. Power to some units also seemed to have gone, though it fluctuated now and then. Bruises and cuts were made on those officers, including the captain and XO, who were not firmly seated and ready for impact.
"ATTs ready" informed the torpedo room.
Summary:
CAA Gomeisa destroyed. (I assumed it didn't fire any torpedoes because one, it didn't fit in the 9 torpedoes calculation, and two, you wouldn't have had time to ping me, get firing solutions, and then fire a torpedo within such a short time frame)
CAA Kraz got damages like you mentioned. I am now aware of this, as I can hear it easily.
CAA Matar destroyed. (You said a sub had a torpedo it was trying to outrun. You mentioned CAA Kraz, but that already got shot with the torpedo fired at it. So, I assumed you wrote the name incorrectly. Feel free to change the name to another surviving one).
CAA Merga destroyed. (I fired at four submarines. You only mentioned three at best. So, I assume the fourth torpedo wasn't detected in time. Again, feel free to change the name to another surviving one.)
CAA Fornacis has 2 inbound torpedoes, that are your own. I launched countermeasures and decoys which worked. These 2 torpedoes lost contact of my ship and kept moving. And your ship popped up in front of them (as you circled back with Fornacis and came to fire at me).
Of the 9 torpedoes, I assumed 2 were fired from Fornacis, Nash, Sabik and Pleione each and 1 from Matar before it lost its battle of losing the torpedo.
Of the 9:
2 were duped by counter measures and decoys (which are now headed towards Fornacis).
4 were destroyed by ATTs (or anti-torpedo torpedoes).
1 got confused by the massive number of explosions occurring all around in the waters and headed off towards one such explosion (i count at least 8 explosions).
2 (fired by Fornacis) are fired in wrong direction (or at least not in a threatening way to me). The Fornacis had to take a huge u-turn, and then fire the torpedoes, during which time I needn't be where I am.
X-100 had quite a few pipe bursts, some fires and some electrical power issues, the extent of which is yet to be determined. Though your commanders wouldn't obviously know this, but the X-100 has now focused on defense and surviving rather than trying to kill any more of your ships.
Also, note that a 'ping' only gives you a bearing and range. Not the direction of travel or the speed. For that you need a second set of 'ping'.
Other than the 2 inbound torpedoes, you have nothing else fired upon from me in this post.
X-100

Fish Food Curry - Part Two
X-101
"Time to impact 30 seconds... 20... Sir enemy subs are accelerating and taking evasive action. Torpedo tracking still appears to be good. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Sir something is wrong... those impacts didn't sound right."
The sonar operator pushed his headphones against the ears to hear as much as possible, in the hopes that perhaps the gods of headphones and the producers of sound of music would tell him exactly what he wanted to know!
"What do you mean, zon?" asked the curious captain.
"All i heard was torpedoes 2 and 4 detonate I didn't pick up any sounds to suggest a sub taking on water."
"Thatz not good. Not good at all."
PINNGG! The captain closed his ears when his ship got pinned. He hated that noise. He thought those who used active sonar were cheaters.
"Oh thoz bloody foolz. Rainge and bearing?"
"Ahead sir. Quite far. Within torpe..." the sonar operator cut himself, and quickly moved on, "Captain. Torpedoes in water. Heading straight for us."
"Weapon zatutz?" asked the captain.
"We have ATTs loaded sir."
"ATTz?" asked the captain. He didn't like using them. It delayed the inevitable for both sides.
"Well, fire them. Then load ze torpedoz."
"Captain! We got more around 10 torpedoes against us!"
"HOLY ZHITE! exclaimed the captain. His jaw dropped as he tried to imagine the number of inbound torpedoes against his ship.
"That is cheating! How ze the hell am I zuppozed to fight thiz? Thiz iz ztupid!"
The officers onboard stopped their work and realized their impending deaths. Except one, the XO. He knew he was going to die, but he wanted to die fighting!
"Fire the ATTs at the nearest targets. Provide firing solutions."
The captain was still unaware of the XO's orders.
"Firing solutions provided."
"Fire the ATTs."
The submarine rocked as four torpedoes pushed out of the dead silent submarine and headed off towards the lead incoming torpedoes.
"Reload with ATTs quickly. Provide firing solutions for them to the next four torpedoes."
"Prepare to activate the towed decoy on my mark. Range to nearest torpedo.."
Effects from an explosion jolted the submarine. It threw the XO near the captain's vacant chair, who grabbed hold of it to balance himself. The captain himself was still on the floor sobbing.
"What the hell was that?"
"Goodwrench (CAA Alkes) exploded sir. The second torpedo must have hit it."
"Well, atleast now we can claim to have one bloody kill! Now, get me the range of the torpedoes!"
"ATTs about to meet up with the lead torpedoes."
"Yes. The nearest one after those four?"
"Probably cloz enough to kill uzz." cried the captain.
"Fire the VLS tube one."
"Target?"
"Just fire the damn thing in the air."
"We need a target.."
"God damn it. Babkha for all I care! Just pick a bloody target and FIRE!" screamed the XO as the tension grew in the doomed ship.
"Firing VLS tube one with tomahawk. Target ojaDom."
The submarine moved tremedously and created huge noise as the tomahawk missile was fired out of the submerged submarine. The air pressure release from the missile system as it travelled to break the water surface created even a bigger noise and waves than the dead-in-the-water X-101.
"Oh hell. That was a good one XO," claimed the sonar operator. "One of those torpedoes fell for that!"
A torpedo now headed for the missile, which was making a lot more noise than the submarine itself, including creating a larger wake in its path, than the non moving submarine.
"XO. Launch them all I say!" said the relieved sonar operator, with incredible joy!
"Fire four more tubes on my mark officer."
"Target?" asked the weapons officer, to which the sonar operator just smiled back. "Yes sir." came the response to the smile.
A few seconds later, a quad launch of tomahawks from the submarine erupted, claiming another three torpedoes. However, the torpedoes were much closer to the submarine than last time and this allowed the torpedoes to catch up to the missiles before they broke the water surface, resulting in a massive explosion that threw tonnes of water into the air for everyone on the surface to witness. Underneath however, the explosion sent several shockwaves, with the X-101 being the closest and the first to be hit. Several pipes burst open and water had begun pouring into some of the higher compartments above the torpedo room, titling the long X-101 submarine forward. The compartments were quickly sealed off to avoid water flooding into other parts of the ship.
"Damage report?" asked the XO. He had to scream it to go over the top of the captain's voice, who was now talking to himself, wondering about his life's work and how he wished he had the courage to walk up to the Viking king of Stomark and drink alcohol with him.
"Fore ship hit. We are taking water. Compartments A-1 thr.."
"Sir. Incoming torpedo. We still got two inbound! Time to impact 30 seconds."
"Status on ATTs?"
"Just one ready," came the response from the torpedo room.
"Give firing solutions and fire!"
"Firing solutions provided." came the eventual response with 24 seconds to go.
"FIRE! And reload with decoy!"
The submarine flinched a little as the torpedoe was released, heading towards the inbound torpedo.
"Activate towed decoy. Launch counter measures now!"
The two remaining torpedoes exploded within 20 seconds of each other. The ATT claimed one of the torpedoes, while the second, having duped by the counter measures, headed off to the towed decoy. However, the explosions were very close to the submarine, leading to further damages to the submarine. Fire had now started in the engine rooms, while several of the crew compartments had been flooded. The active sonar system in the bow of the ship was also damaged from the close range explosion and random metalic pieces from the torpedoes and missiles falling on it.
Summary:
CAA Alkes destroyed. (you had one of your cancer class subs attacked with 2 torpedoes. you counted for one. i suppose the second one managed to sneak in undetected somehow. For this reason, I am also assuming that Alkes only managed to fire 1 torpedo at me).
You fired 9 torpedoes (5 from CAA Keid, 4 from CAA Turais and 1 from CAA Alkes).
Of the 9 torpedoes:
4 were destroyed by ATTs.
4 got duped by tomahawk missile launches. (though 2 of them managed to hit the missiles before they broke the water surface, thereby creating a massive explosion)
1 was destroyed by a reloaded ATT (though very close proximity to submarine).
1 got duped by counter-measures and decoy, though exploded somewhere in close proximity.
ok, perhaps you got 10 torpedoes fired (so 2 from Alkes before it exploded).
X-101 has the compartments in the front (above the torpedo rooms) damaged and/or flooded from the huge explosion above (involving missiles) as well as the close proximity explosion (between ATT and your torpedo).
Also, the rear explosion (decoy and torpedo) caused fires in the engine room as well as flooding of some of the crew compartments.
The ship is also, like X-100, on defensive mode and not looking at attacking your submarines any more. The captain seems to have lost it and the XO has more or less taken over the ship.
In this post, you only have 1 (or maybe 2, depending upon whether this missile exploded in the massive water explosion or broke water and fired off !) tomahawk missiles fired at ojaDom city of Toketi.
Edit:
oh could you please not use my characters to say things? i have troubles trying to put those words into context of what i would do.

OOC: Your fault for insisting on starting up there.
Re: the Omen - I believe Scott and Harvey have a plan to finally bring it down. You can certainly try to do something beforehand, but there's no guarantee it'll get through the Omen's defences.

Re: Official War Thread
ummm extreme with the attack on the cancer subs i countered all of your initial torpedoes you were wire-guiding them i made you think my subs were somewhere they weren't so you'd guide to the wrong place.
also i think the damage im taking compared to you is excessive to say the least.
my cancer subs are just as effective as your Virgina subs and im supposedly destroyed by one torpedo while you stop nearly a dozen?!?
also your sub destroying every mini sub it detected? i mean honeslty come-on. i didn't do specific things for each sub because for the 8-10 subs fighting i didn't have time. I posted my total casualties not half casualties and i though it was said earlier in this war that you dont post your opponents casualties.
Gomesia destroyed
Kraz damaged still in the fight (fires two torpedoes)
Matar damaged and bugging out (ie leaving)
Merga damaged rudder is locked up the merga is now on a suicide coarse with x-100
Fornacis IFF system prevents torpedoes from impacting the ship fires to torpedoes after coming about.
ALL OTHERS ARE STILL OUT OF FIGHT!
The alkes, Keid, and Turais each launch two decoys these decoys are some what smart in the fact that they will mimic the noise and movements of a cancer class sub so effectively there appear to be 9 subs in the water around your one. my three subs then launch a volley of 12 more torpedoes... well not a volley they come one by one but in rapid succession. not enough time for you to rearm weapons but enough for them not to fall for the same counters. also half are wire guided a quarter are tracking your subs sonar sig and a quarter are tracking its magnetic disturbance.

Alkes is damaged but not out of this fightCAA Alkes
there was slight chaos aboard the ship they had not managed to fully escape the torpedoes though their plan had been good they had not gotten away from the concussive wave of the explosion "Damage control to Aft torpedo room. Damage control to Aft torpedo room."
"Sir the ships suffering from hull ruptures across our aft decks, were slowed down and have lost aft torpedoes but all our other systems are still functioning. What are your orders?"
"Prepare to launch active decoys from tubes 2 and 4 all other tubes should arm torpedoes. if im not mistaken that what the others will do."
Sure enough as the Alkes prepared to perform the captains ideas the other subs began to do the same.

Sitting Ducks - Part One
X-100
"Inbound torpedoes. Four of them!" The sonar operator screamed. The bridge was now full of active officers. Almost all of them were at their stations. Other sailors were running around putting the fires out and getting the few inoperative computer systems to start running again. For now, their duty was more to fix the important systems, and then worry about the others later. Right now, the important computer systems were running on backup systems, but if those were knocked out as well, then there would be a significant problem on the ship. And that was the high priority right now.
"Fire the ATTs. Give them the firing solutions." said the captain calmly. He looked over at the XO and by a quick nod, ordered him to look into the defense of the ship from the four torpedo threats. He, however, walked over to the sonar station with the map of their current location.
"Alright. Tell me what's out there." he said to the second sonar station operator.
"Yes, Captain. We got the Wolverine (CAA Kraz) somewhere here, the Seatine (CAA Matar) here, the ..."
He was quickly interupted by the first sonar operator who pointed out that the Seatine was out of battle and that it was surfacing quickly.
"Right.. well, that's there and the Empire (CAA Mergha) is still directly ahead. We thought we had blew it up, but it must have defended itself nicely."
"CAPTAIN, " the first sonar operator spoke again, "Empire dead ahead. Its making a lot of noise. And they are headed straight at us. Full speed it seems from the screw speed."
The Captain thought about it for a moment, and then looked over at the XO.
"Status of tubes?"
"All empty. Just fired the ATTs at the four torpedoes. Reload with more ATTs?" asked the XO.
The captain ran over to the intercon.
"Reload with 2 mines and 2 decoys. HURRY!"
Then turning the attention to the submarine drivers, he said "FULL REVERSE."
The submarine's propellors started turning slowly for the first time in this action. As the reverse speed increased, the first of the guided ATTs hit its mark.
"Mines and decoys in tubes." said the weapons officer who could see the status of the tubes on his screen.
"Release the mines quietly but quickly."
The speed of the X-100 increased as it drove herself away from the oncoming CAA Mergha. Nearby, the another wire-guided ATT found its target. The torpedo tubes with the mines were flooded and the doors opened slowly. The mechanism holding the mine in place unlocked itself and released the mine. The mine stayed in place, as the submarine raced away behind it, putting the mine in line of path between the X-100 and the CAA Mergha. Within a few seconds, the second mine appeared in the waters outside of the submarine. It appeared more like a whale giving birth to its child.
"ATTs have found the mark." The relieved sonar operator said to the XO, who informed the captain immediately.
"Fire the decoys. Do not activate them yet. One starboard, one port." said the captain, while looking straight at the helm and deep in thought.
"Reload with ATTs." ordered the captain, "We still got York, Tuvok and Spock to worry about. They can fire 6 torpedoes at us, along with 2 each from Nixon (CAA Fornacis), Wolverine (CAA Kraz) and Seatine (CAA Matar)."
That was a total of twelve torpedoes against the X-100 potentially. Luckily however, the Kraz had its propellor stuck, meaning it couldn't turn to shoot towards the X-100, but had to shoot in a parallel direction. Matar was in a similar situation, except they were surfaced and the Fornacis was going to pass the X-100 soon some thousand feet to the port side, decreasing its capability of firing torpedoes by 1. That still left about 7 torpedoes at the least, and only four ATTs in the tubes of X-100.
"CAPTAIN! Contact. AIR!" screamed the sonar operator. The tension on the bridge increased. Now, the X-100 was going to have to deal with air threats as well.
"Friendly sir! Its the Ospreys"
The XO and the captain exchanged a quick glance. The two old friends knew what they had to do.
The XO ran over to the communications stations and quickly ordered the transmission of the last known co-ordinate of York, Tuvok and Spock.
Summary:
Okay, first, I assumed you didn't mention them because you didn't see them. And thus, I could easily destroy them (using 24 hour rule. I even waited 24 hours from my post, even though I saw your post immediately). However, I'll use what you said.
I fired 4 ATTs and scored hits on them. First, Kraz has its mobility lost (so, you wouldn't have been able to fire the torps because you could be facing the wrong direction, which you were, since you were parallel to me and i haven't been moving at all.) Secondly, the Fornacis has gone around me twice or something (you said "after coming about" again). So, I am not sure what exactly you meant, but I take it that the torpedoes were guided and thus, slow and easy to be destroyed with my own wire-guided torps.
X-100 has started backing up full speed to avoid getting a head-on collision with Mergha. It has launched 2 mines in the path, as well as later 2 decoys (that I will activate later when required). Reloaded with 4 more ATTs.
X-100 also sent the location of the stationary 3 ships (i don't know the names you used right now) to 2 Osprey aircrafts that flew in. I know their position and speed because you have been pinging the entire waters all this time. The two osprey's drop 3 passive sonar buoys and 10 MK90 Impact torpedoes each. The torpedoes have been provided the target information. They will first use their electric pump-jets to silently move in towards the target. Once, their own presence is revealed, they will dash in quickly.
EDIT:
The 20 torpedoes are distributed amongst the three subs. so, 6 torpedoes at each, plus 1 each at 2 unlucky ships (your call which one).
oh, and just in case you ask, the ospreys can carry around 6,500 kg of weight (12,300 kg for maximum load). the torpedoes are 300 kg each. (I could go with American, but that's even less at 200 kg, so i could fire more!).
NOTE: the distance between X-100 and Mergha isn't big enough for me to escape unscratched. if Mergha does indeed blow up, I am definitely going to take into account the damages from that explosion.

Sitting Ducks - Part Two
X-101
"That cant be true."
"We are dooooommed.. we are gonna die!" screamed the delusioned captain.
"Whats wrong man?" asked the XO to the sonar operator.
"Sir, we had three contacts first. All Cancer class. Now we got NINE. All cancer class."
"Decoys?"
"Has to be. I could have missed one or two at best, but NINE? They have to be decoys."
"Alright. Keep track of the originals if you can."
"I'll try sir. But how do I know which of the three in those three regions are the one?"
"Just look for one that is trying to save its skin!"
"Okay sir. WOAH! Multiple contacts! Torpedoes. High pitched."
"OOOHHh... my god. DEAD.. DEAD I AM DEAD!" screamed the captain.
"There's your sign man, " said the XO to the sonar operator, "which of those 9 fired those torpedoes?"
"I.. uh.. " the enthusiasm in the sonar operator was easily seen as he went about punching the buttons on the screen.
"I'll try and plot the course back to the source sir."
"Take your time man. Second sonar, you are now lead."
The XO didn't want to be left in the dark with his first sonar operator working on identifying the source of the torpedoes.
"Sir, the torpedoes are seeking us out. They are active from the get go."
"Fire the ATTs at them." exclaimed the XO.
"More torpedoes launched" said the second sonar operator, followed quickly by the first sonar operator saying, "Plotting those as well"
"Reload with ATTs" screamed the XO, still in charge of the ship.
"Sir the torpedoes are too quick for us. We wont be able to reload in time!" said one of the weapons officer.
"You are right. Full Reverse! FULL REVERSE! we'll try to buy as much time as possible. Tell the torpedo room to hurry their ass off!"
"Prepare to release counter measures and decoys on my mark."
"BALAZT! AIR! LET ME GO!" screamed the captain, still crying and lying on the floor.
"Sir, " one of the sailors said to the XO, "the Captain is right. Half the ship is flooded. We got some fires in the engine room. I think we should surface!"
The other officers on the bridge looked at the sailor. Most nodded in agreement.
"Range on torpedoes?"
"Close sir, " informed the second sonar operator, "Sir. We got further torpedo launches."
The mood was now definately sad and the sobbing noise of the captain made it worse.
"GOT IT! BOO-YA! I found the three Cancer subs and confirmed it with the latest launches Sir!" He looked back from his sonar station to realize the mood on the bridge. The XO and some of the officers just stared back at him. Then suddenly, the XO smiled.
"Not yet. We will die fighting! Status on ATTs we fired."
"About to hit the first batch sir."
"Status on ATTs being reloaded?"
"Still being reloaded. We need more time!"
"Sir, we are at full reverse speed. But we wont be able to outrun the torpedoes" informed the submarine driver.
"Weapons officer. Prepare to fire the tomahawks."
"Yes sir."
"Prepare to release the counter measures on my mark."
"Yes sir"
"Get us to the surface as quickly as possible!"
"AYE AYE SIR!"
"NOW! Fire the tomahawks"
"CAPTAIN. The torpedoes are almost here"
"Release the counter-measures. All of them if you have to!"
X-101 began firing her tomahawk missiles and released the counter measures and decoys at about the same time. The angle of inclination of the submarine caused the missiles to be fired towards the incoming torpedoes, but still up towards the surface. This caused an attraction for some of the torpedoes. The reverse speed and the high vertical climb, combined with the release of counter-measures and decoys underneath, attracted yet more torpedoes.
As the submarine began to break the surface, the submarine crew began to pray to their gods. They knew they wouldn't be able to save themselves from all of the torpedoes.
"SIR! CONTACT! AIR! Friendly! Its the Ospreys!" cried the second sonar operator.
The XO looked over at the first sonar operator and said, "Man, send them the target information! NOW!"
A torpedo then struck the submarine near the propellors.
Summary:
Again, I assumed you didn't read the 4th torpedo and thus claimed the damaged. I am happy to go with what you said about Alkes's damages, which seems to have hit the torpedo room.
3 active were countered by 3 ATTs that I fired.
I had 1 decoy (which like yours makes a noise mimicking the X-101) in a tube that i fired. This claims 3 wire-guided torpedoes (two targets, so, 50-50 to each i would assume).
I then begin moving rearwards at full speed to give me some more time to be able to reload weapons. I also began surfacing quickly, while firing my Tomahawks at Toketi lands (the nearby big cities).
The magnetic sensing torpedoes were duped by the launch of tomahawks. i began firing all of the tomahawks (so around 8 or so).
Of the remaining 3 wire-guided, 1 torpedo hit the propellers. X-101 has lost all mobility, has surfaced entirely, empty of all tomahawks, out of nearly 60 to 70% of counter-measures, and a foolish afraid-to-death captain who quickly opened the hatch to get out of the ship.
3 Ospreys are provided with target information to your 3 cancer subs. I found out which of those 9 are the real ones. The ospreys drop 10 MK90 torpedoes each, with target information for one submarine each. That means each of your submarine has 10 MK90 torpedoes silently bearing down on them. The ospreys then drop 5 active sonar buoys in the water nearby to identify if there are other submarines in the region. Active buoys are being dropped in the hopes that your submarine captains will realize that their element of surprise is busted and their position revealed, and that they would soon leave the area away from the surface fleet. I'll leave it to you to figure out which submarines got detected. These buoys are dropped in a fashion such that maximum area coverage is scanned, with minimum overlap between any two buoys.
X-101
"That cant be true."

12 torpedoes fired. 3 active, 3 magnetic sensors and 6 wire-guided.there was slight chaos aboard the ship they had not managed to fully escape the torpedoes though their plan had been good they had not gotten away from the concussive wave of the explosion "Damage control to Aft torpedo room. Damage control to Aft torpedo room."

Re: Official War Thread
the thing is when i have 20 ships doing individual story for each of them is too time consuming so i treat it like any military unit i post actions as a group. then specify damages at the end. hence our missing each other and that confusion.
the subra and alzirr begin to engage the ospreys with surface to air missiles each carries 40 and they will fire on the ospreys until they down them all or the ospreys bug out.
needless to say the Merga is destroyed.
cancers
Also i've never heard of an Osprey being used for ASW operations and you didn't declare that capability at the start of the war... im not saying you cant drop torpedoes im just questioning that since thats not a standard osprey capability how effective this attack actually could be. i mean its like taking a row boat and strapping torpedoes on the side and using it to sink a carrier.
EDIT: also as a psudeo secret move wolf packs one and two move to periscope depth after the multitude of explosions. i assumed this happened earlier so they could receive distress calls or updates but realized i never mentioned it.
Summary the CAA matar picks up the inbound ospreys when it begins radar scans after surfacing it sends a destress call reguarding the aircraft which is answered by the CAA SubraAs the matar broke the surface the crew immedaiately began damage control activated its radar and prepared to broadcast an SOS. but no sooner did the radar come on then it picked up the imbound aircraft. "This is the CAA Matar to all friendly ships inbound aircraft they are not broadcasting an IFF"
"This is the CAA Subra we have them and are preparing to engage." The Subra at that moment sat at periscope depth it had been watching and listening it had seen walls of water erupt from the air and then the Matar shoot to the surface and now the approaching dots. Osprey's it looked like with their unique design well thought the CO were about to find out how agile those things are. "Lock targets and engage I want those things out of the sky. also get the Alzirr in on this"
the subra and alzirr begin to engage the ospreys with surface to air missiles each carries 40 and they will fire on the ospreys until they down them all or the ospreys bug out.
Summary: Merga closes quickly with the x-100? and rams the first mine which causes a chain reaction with the second which is still very close to its launch point. there wasn't that much space between us and subs take time to get up to speed (or change direction) so i think that second mine was darn close to you. other mini's are rattled but not damaged. The Merga sped on towards its doom and even as fate drew upon it the enemy tried to escape the small leo sub collided with the first mine detonating the death trap the shock wave ripped through the water just as the second mine was beginning to clear is tube the concussive blast triggered the second mine. parts of the Merga began to rain to the bottom of the ocean
needless to say the Merga is destroyed.
Summary: remaining mini's break off when a massive number of torpedoes are dropped and get the heck out of there. (see bottom)"Torpedoes sir lots of them coming from the surface deploy all the counter measures we have (not all on the ship just all the can at once) and get us on the surface" once more the ocean became a rock concert of noise any sonar operator who didn't have fast reactions would probably have gone deaf. And from the cloud of countermeasures be they noise makers decoys or counter torpedoes erupted a force of half size submarines
cancers
Summary: cancer subs surface hoping your sub will surrender anti-torpedoes loaded. Ospreys were probably engaged before they reached the cancers so i didn't deal with that if however that attack is still to occur just let me know."Sir the enemy sub is breaking off and heading for the surface."
"Any surface contacts, no sir none that i can hear."
"Then take us up with them maybe we'll get lucky and they'll give up."
The cancer subs broke the surface just as SAMs began to erupt from the ocean

Dead in the Waters
In the skies above the submarine battle
"SAM! SAM!" screamed one of the pilots of the lead V-22. His quick reaction was to take evasive actions and launch counter measures at the same time. The other pilots of the other two Ospreys followed suit.
"Quick, turn around and get out of this place!" screamed one of the crew members.
"Mother Goose! This is Whiskey One. SAMs in the region! I repeat, SAMs in the region. We can't do much. Bugging out. I repeat buggin out."
"Acknowledged Whiskey One. Mother Goose out."
The five Ospreys had only managed to drop their passive sonar buoys into the waters. They were about to drop the torpedoes, but now they were facing the wrong direction. And dropping the torpedoes now would easily reveal the torpedos' presence to the enemy as it would require a greater amount of energy and thereby, noise and time to turn the torpedo around. The Ospreys decided to keep their torpedoes in store and make a beeline for the exit.
"Whiskey group, this is Mother Goose."
"Go ahead Mother Goose."
"Rendevous with King's Cross."
X-101
"Sir, the captain has already opened the hatch. He's out. Are we abandoning ship?" asked one of the sailors who ran down from the section above the bridge.
"Embarassing!" whispered the XO.
"Sir, " began the sonar operator "Contact. Libra class. It just launched a missile into the air."
"Oh here it comes..." said one of the officers. He closed his eyes and held his good-luck tightly.
A minute later, another sailor made his way to the bridge.
"Sir. Are we abandoning ship? Our aircrafts are under attack sir. We can't just abandon them!"
"WHAT?" asked the XO.
"Sir, the enemy just fired a missile towards the aircrafts. All I saw was one of them making an emergency maneouver and then fly out of the region!"
"So, they abandoned us then!" whispered one of the officers nearby. He was almost about to curse at his fellow comrades, but was stopped by the XO.
"They haven't. At least not yet. Did these aircrafts do anything else?"
"No sir. They just left." said the sailor who had witnessed the aircrafts.
"Alright. RADAR, what can you tell?"
"Sir, the Osprey's are just heading back."
"Sir, no more missiles being fired by the enemy either." added the sonar operator.
"Hmmm... then the Osprey's are indeed out because they are defenseless against the enemy anti-air."
"We should take out the anti-air then to help them help us."
"And how do you suggest we do that? We can't move!"
"But we can fire our torpedos can't we?"
The discussion amongst the officers onboard had become a free for all brawl. Amongst them the XO stood quiet deep in his own thought. And above them, their captain of the ship danced and sang to the rain gods, while nearby enemy submarines were preparing to make the final kill.
The XO shouted and the shouting match on the bridge ended.
"RADAR! Turn off. I Want absolutely no radar on."
"Yes sir" said the radar station operator and quickly started to shut the radar system off.
"You there sailor," the XO pointed to one of the sailors, "inform the crew to abandon the ship!"
At that remark, most of the bridge officers began to get up from their seats and head towards the exit.
"Bridge Officers stay put. We are going to fight to give the rest and ourselves a chance."
The officers froze at that statement and with a deep breath, got back to their positions.
The XO walked over to the intercom and buzzed the torpedo room.
"Rearm with torpedoes!"
"Weapons station, " continued the XO, "get firing solutions on the Libra class!"
"Yes sir" the officer said, and then raised his hand quietly. The XO noticed it and walked over.
"What is it officer?"
"Sir, what about those cancer subs?"
"Our priority right now is to take out the enemy's ability to fight our air power."
"Yes sir."
"Someone sound the alarm for abandoning ship. And tell those sailors to make as much noise as possible while evacuating the ship." the XO screamed towards a group of sailors who were running up the stairs to the escape hatch. "Hopefully that will confuse the enemy a tad."
"Torpedoes ready sir! Firing solutions in." said the weapons officer.
"That was quick."
"Yes sir. I suppose the torpedo room guys want to get the hell out!"
"Obviously. Fire the torpedoes."
He ran to the intercom and informed the torpedo room to rearm with more torpedoes.
In the air nearby (just outside of the range of submarine radar/anti-missile coverage)
"Hey starscream! You ready for this?" asked the pilot of the lead Eurofighter in the two-aircraft flight.
"Yes sir! Piece of cake. I already ate danger for breakfast!"
"HA HA. Alright. We are almost in weapons range. Remember to not shoot at our own guys!"
"Why not? Its not like we are goi... woah! Did you see that?"
"See what? Starscream what you talking about?"
"I just lost one of the radar signatures. It just went off!"
"Let me see," and after a quick search of all the targets, "hey, what do you know. Our friendly ships turned their radar off. Good for us!"
"Good for them!"
"Bad for the Tokens! Prepare to fire the missiles."
"Mother Goose. This is Viper lead. Preparing to fire the missiles."
"Good hunting Viper!"
"Firing missiles."
Six ALARM missiles flew away from each of the two Eurofighters towards the submarine battle zone, still a far distance away.
"Starscream. We are probably in enemy missile range. Our job is done, let's get out of here!"
"Roger!"
"Mother Goose. This is Viper lead. Package delievered. Send in the cowboys. We are headed home!"
In the air nearby (Quite a bit outside the range of submarine radar/anti-missile coverage)
"Whiskey group, this is Mother Goose."
"Mother Goose. Whiskey lead here. Give me the good news..."
"Green light boys. We'll jam their radars, if they still exist! Thunder flight is inbound as well."
"Whiskey group. This is King's Cross. Go get them boys!" screamed the pilot of the refueling air tanker.
Summary:
The Osprey had dropped only the passive sonar buoys into the water, prior to being fired upon. They quickly took evasive actions, dropped counter-measures/flares etc.. and bugged out. Since you said you were not gonna fire missiles at them as they bugged out, I didn't take that into consideration.
The missile launch from the Libra class ship got attention of X-101. A fair bit of the crew (except the bridge officers and the crew required to fire torpedos like those in the torpedo room) are evacuating the ship. They are launching life rafts into the waters and making a loud noise (banging around as they exit the submarine, splashing waters on the outside of the submarine etc..). As well, loud emergency alarms are blasting through the ship. All of this is to hide the noise of torpedoes from the submarine. The sub fires 4 torpedoes at the nearest Libra class submarine. Your call as to which one of the three ships you have is being targeted. Rearming with more torpedoes.
2 Eurofighters enter the area so to speak. They are not really in the area, just on the periphery of your radar range (which is about 50 kms). They fire 6 ALARM missiles (anti-radar missiles) each and then get out of the region and go home. The ALARMs have a range of over 90 kms (i think i read 100kms maybe) and if you turn off your radars, these will just loiter around for a while (parachute.. thus, not using fuel.. and they are high up in the air, so quite a decent loiter time).
The 5 Ospreys are re-entering the region to drop their torpedoes, after being refueled by a tanker (had these aircrafts in the air already. in a secret post. well, standard stuff really, so, i dont really have to explain this, do I?).
2 more Eurofighters are inbound with more anti-radar weapons. They will fire these when they are in range. So, assume the arrival of these missiles around the time my Ospreys make it to the waters near your ships. The Ospreys are flying low to avoid getting detected for as long as possible. 3 Ospreys headed towards X-101 area of battle, where each will drop 10 torpedoes, aimed at the three Cancer class submarines.
The remaining 2 Ospreys are headed towards the X-100 area of battle. Since I didn't launch an attack (and ran away at the sight of the first missile), there weren't any torpedoes dropped. If you want, you can take back the previous move you played about the dropping of counter-measures and running away. However, if you do that, I'll be able to follow you (since I got sonar buoys in the water). We could either do that, or assume that these 2 Ospreys weren't fired upon, and thus, they dropped their 20 torpedoes aimed at the 3 mini-subs. These 2 Ospreys are on their way back to the carrier, while your subs.. i am not sure. you can handle that part.

Though, they were released with a delay, I do not think a chain reaction would form. There's a lot of water in between the two and water is a good absorber of heat. Also i think mines need to be triggered to explode or they need to be exploded (as in put the explosive right next to them to explode them). Suffice to say, there's quite a gap between the two. Though I do agree, that there might not have been enough time to release the two decoys after the mines.. wait, no. that's possible. as well, cause i got 4 tubes, 2 were with mines and 2 with decoys. So, the decoys and last mine could have been fired simultaneously or almost close to each other's time frame. Anywayys. , you want to reword that summary/story so, that I can pick off from there?Summary: Merga closes quickly with the x-100? and rams the first mine which causes a chain reaction with the second which is still very close to its launch point. there wasn't that much space between us and subs take time to get up to speed (or change direction) so i think that second mine was darn close to you. other mini's are rattled but not damaged.

Re: Official War Thread
Antican Destroyers join forces with Lovelian Fleet in order to help take down the Omen. Combined group will move to restock supplies and reload armamennts before moving to engage the Omen itself.Meetingpoint, Airosamente Island
The helicopter's wheels touched the ground, and the landing gear once again absorbed its weight. The engines throttled down, and the landing party stood up from their seats to assemble at the side door, which was then opened. The eight ratings filed out to form two columns outside, followed by Lieutenant Valeria, who took position at the head between the columns.
Lastly, Captain Scutarius stepped out and onto the ground, which crunched as he stepped. He stood at the center of the two columns, just a little behind the Lieutenant. A short distance ahead of them stood the meeting point, a large field tent provided by Shore Party 2, which Scutarius could see standing nearby. At the entrance of the field tent were two Lovelian sailors. Off to the side, something caught Scutarius's eye. It was the helicopter that the Lovelians had used. To Scutarius, it looked a little larger and a good deal bulkier than the type the Antican Naval Service had chosen as its utility helicopter. It was painted in a two-tone grey tigerstripe pattern, with the words ROYAL LOVELY NAVY printed near its tail. Scutarius preferred the Antican design and paint job, but the Lovelians did have a particular style about them.
"Presenting Lord Anthony Scutarius, Captain of the Antican Destroyer Halimēdē, Acting Commander of the First Carrier Group." Lieutenant Valeria announced at the entrance to the tent. Even at the great distance, Scutarius was sure that he could see the corner of the mouth of the man standing center behind the table momentarily curl up. Lt Valeria stepped aside to allow Scutarius to step into the tend.
He turned to Valeria to say, "thank you Lieutenant," and then proceeded further in toward the table at the center.
"First Lord of the Admiralty Sir Paul Hasting, Baron of Old Spexico." One of the junior ranked Lovelians stated. The man standing at the center bowed his head slightly.
"Rear Admiral Madam Emily Packard-Hastings, Lady Old Spexico, Captain of Hist Majesty's Lovely Ship Hood." The woman standing to Hastings's right bowed her head ever so slightly, enough to identify herself but not to portray any sense of respect. Even in bowing her head, she continued to look down upon Scutarius.
One by one, the others were identified. Captain Vega of the Spexico. Captain Maud of the Triton. Captain Koles of the Trident. Captain Haileybury of the Warpite. Captain Roberts of the Tovey. None of those seemed particular happy to see Captain Scutarius standing there. At least, intact. Of them, Captains Koles and Roberts seemed especially sour. Scutarius surmised that their ships had taken casualties. So did his, as did the others.
"Speaking on behalf of my fellow captains of the First Carrier Group, I hereby formally surrender." Scutarius stated. His left hand lifted up his Captain's Sword and placed it upon the table.
"Your surrender is accepted..." began Admiral Hastings, trailing off when it appeared that he had difficulty with what to address Scutarius by.
"Captain Scutarius is sufficient, sir."
"Indeed." He began. "I was not aware that Antica had any nobility."
"The Patrician Class was abolished as a legally privileged class after the Revolution, and the Civil War had taken many of the Patrician Families, while many others have assimilated into the greater society. The Kaikian Patricians, on the other hand, have acted to keep the tradition alive."
"I see." Hastings said, nodding as if he had just learned something quite interesting. "Please, sit. I would like to discuss how we proceed from here."
Scutarius nodded and pulled out a nearby chair to sit. All of the Lovelian commanders similarly sat around the regular table. "If I may begin?"
"Go ahead, Captain."
"Firstly, following the Battle in the Western Sea, the Antican Destroyer Kymothoē had recovered a Lovelian fighter pilot, who had been aboard in the ship's brig since. He should be ready to transfer to one of your ships as soon as you would like him released.
"Secondly, due to the recent events regarding the Omen, I would like to volunteer the ships under my command to join yours in attempting to bring it down. If not, we would like the opportunity to return home. It would, however, be beneficial for all if we worked together."
Hastings nodded during the time that Scutarius had spoken. Now, he responded. "I agree. It would be bastly preferred if we worked together. The Omen is a danger to us all. We intend to head south to Batavian lands for the restocking of supplies. You are welcome to join us so that you may rearm and repair your ships."
"Thank you."
"Your own ship, the... Halimede. It receive a great deal of damage from what were were able to tell. Will she be seaworthy enough to join the fight against the Omen?"
Scutarius nodded. It had indeed received a good deal of damage. Damage that could be repaired or at least patched. Repair that would undoubtedly be analyzed by the bean counters in Nafticon to make plans for refits and an updated second block of ships that would improve the class's fighting potential. But people had died, and others were injured, and for now, the Halimēdē's status was indeed wavering. "She will be able to join the fight. If we were to join forces and my ships restocked alongside yours, I have some concerns."
"Go ahead."
"If we reloaded from your stock, we may need personnel to aid in making sure that they are compatible with our launch mechanisms."
"That can be arranged."
"Also is the matter of our aircraft. We have more fighters and helicopter than can be carried aboard our destroyers alone. This is why we had to operate most of them from a land position, with personnel on the ground. I would be most beneficial if you could permit our aircraft and our technicians some operating spece aboard your aircraft carrier."
"That could be complex but doable." Hasting said. He stood, followed by everyone else. Scutarius stood and raised his two fingers to his temple to salute, then remembered that most other nations saluted the other way -- The Continental Way, as the Kaikians were wont to call it -- , and he straighted out all of his fingers as if a large blade, and pointed it upon his brow. Admiral Hastings made the same salute. "We will be leaving in four hours. Hopefully, by then you will have made the necessary repairs to accompany us."
Captain Anthony Scutarius turned and exited the tent. Outside, his Landing Party escorted him back to the helicopter, which grought him back to his ship.

Re: Official War Thread
And so the fun begins, with yet another bizarre move.
-Courtesy of Andreas' loan of a ship, The Scalziin sail an intercept course for Extreme's surface fleet (seeing as it is en route to the islands). -Well out of range, the troops jump ship, and the ship sails out of range.
-Once Extreme's ships (or any subs reasonably near to the surface) approach, they all slip underwater, and swim towards the ships mimicking a pod of sharks (to confuse sonar, if the sonar can even pick them up. They're people-sized swimmers for god's sake.)
--To match the ship's speed, a special suit is used (pm'd to judges), as well as precise timing (calculated on the ship), and (if needed) they can use some pressurized gas in the air tanks to increase speed (underwater jetpack, McGiver style).
-Once the ships pass overhead, they swim up and stick thermite, C4, and other high explosives to this ships. If need be, they can use magnetics to cling to the ships' hulls, and then climb up a short distance.
-Once all the charges are planted, they sink back down to a safe depth, then press the big red button.
-If any sailors, troops, people attempt to escape the sinking ships via the water, the Scalziin use harpoon guns to eliminate them.
Sailing the ship proved to be much different than operating any of the guns mounted on the deck. That's why the scalziin let the crew do the piloting, sailing, and other naval necessities for the ship. They manned the deck guns, and prepared for their mission. Several new guns had to be customized, as par with their tradition, as well as the new suits. Personal decals were painted onto rifles, insignias were welded into fins, and chatter was kept to a friendly normal. Tension was for those who did the expected. Nothing about this attack would be normal. As the scalziin looked each other over, grins sprouted all around.
"John, you really need to find a better pic than that!"
"What the hell you think is wrong with it?"
"It's been years since anyone has poked someone else's head on a stick. Keep up with the times man!"
"Hey, I'll stick whoever's head on whatever I feel like!" Raucous laughter bubbled up from the nearby troops, while their novan friends looked on strangely. Even though the two nations had been allies for as long as anyone could remember, sometimes these troops' jokes seemed to be a little vulgar. Silent communication displayed its best as the novans shrugged, rolled their eyes, and walked out of the locker room. Scalziin were weird.
"Would you two pipe down? You're drowning out the muzak" A third soldier quipped. He closed his eyes, ignoring any response, and let his favorite invention alleviate his boredom. The I-Pod.
Meanwhile on deck, Perry sat by his turret, watching the skies for any signs of hostile aircraft. Even though this was supposed to be a secret mission, you never knew what could happen. Doubt of himself flickered through his mind as he thought this. The 50 men had grown up together in the same boot camp. All were good friends. Any who tried to leak information would have been noticed immediately. And if any of his friends had turned traitor, they would not have been picked to join this war. Shuddering, another thought crosses his mind 'Somehow, that guy just seems to read our minds. Nobody would turn traitor here without him knowing.' Longbow may have been a strict commander, but he was fair, and developed a real personal connection with his troops. But there was always that possibility...
Sailing was best left to sailors. If anybody in Extreme's army thought they could sail these ships better than those picked to do the jobs, than they would be doing it themselves. Conversations of troops flitted all around the ship as the captain focused on getting his ship into the war zone. They had had enough of slaughtering civilians. It was time for some real action. Those in the submarines had it lucky. They were fighting even as the ships sailed on into the open seas. That was at least some excitement. All this ship had seen was blue skies, and blue ocean...
Striding into the conference, Monty felt excited. The war was finally coming to a close, as the events that heralded the end drew near. And he would be a part of those events. A chance to make history. Few ever got the opportunity. Truth be told, he was surprised.
And speaking of surprises, the pocket that he thrust his hand into wasn't empty. Inside there was what felt like an envelope. Curious, he reached in and opened it. A single piece of folded paper was inside, labeled: To: Monty. Reading further brought no explanation. The letter was short, had no return address, and no from signature. All in all, the letter read:
This was going to be for you.
Thank Andreas.
From,
Staring at it for a few more seconds, Monty repocketed it. More important things were at hand. His confusion could wait until later.
SUMMARY:Staring at the ship that you sailed in on leaving without you is a very bizarre sight, Perry thought. Considering that they were a long distance from shore, the only thing that could pick them up was the approaching fleet. Speaking of that fleet...
Perry went under. This would be explosive.
