Re: Anti-Nelagan side Orbats
Roman, who do you think you are? How dare you come here and begin insulting one of the most respected and experienced recwarrers and micronationalists around.
Do not come here and tell someone what they must and must not do when you have no authority in these affairs on this board whatsoever. So far as I'm aware, I have not seen you fight in any international recwar with Novatainia or Tokidoki and believe me I've been in most of their fights, as I'm sure you know (I have notoriety in your end of micronations). If you have to look up on wikipedia, there is no problem in that. We all do it and the sensible ones do so to improve their own orbat so yes, I do expect you to fight an orbat of abbreviations.
I don't care for your opinions and even less so when you're not a participant in this recwar. Post another little tirade like that in this recwar and I'll sanction you.
@Saikar: Please don't refer to another member of the war as a cheat. Its not polite and makes it seem less like a recwar.

Just as a point, Roman has fought under recwars that are Anunia or very similar, so the point about him not having done international is moot; he's fought under the same system.
And I hate to say it, but almost all those who don't like pointless civilian killings have been insulting extreme. Your right to be angry as Judge though, sir.

Actually, it seems to me that you guys (Tokians) are taking recwars very seriously outside of the scope of recwars, while some of us 'old-timers' (as Andreas put it) take it seriously inside the scope of recwars.
Mind you, the last time someone tried to take recwars very seriously outside the scope of recwars were Lovely, who were thrown out of it. This was during the Circum-raynor war, but that was quite a different kind of mess entirely.

Well, I think it's interesting that apart from Jeremy and possibly Josephus, no one besides magic users care about the 'reality' of civilians in war. For instance extreme, wherever you're from, if we blew up your civilians would you bother defending them?

Re: Anti-Nelagan side Orbats
We're used to different styles of recwarring. When you fight internally, why bother killing civilians? You want to focus all your attention on your enemy units. Besides, everyone's close enough to respond within a day. It's when someone disputes the fine points of the trajectory of a particular missile against your combat units that gets annoying, and so we try to resolve those sort of disputes fairly quickly, and let the war move on. But when someone spends all their time killing civilians (that you've spent so long describing out of war) far away from other units, it seems dishonourable/sacrilige/stupid/totally-not-in-the-spirit-of-the-war. Of course, disputing the fine details of civilian defence isn't a problem because the orbatted units aren't actually fighting anything. Essentially, they're wasting time. So keeping more civilians alive is a small victory you can win against someone you shouldn't even be fighting in that manner anyway, as far as we're concerned.
Where as for you guys it seems to be the opposite. You seem to think killing civilians are the moves you do casually and you should be able to slaughter them without a second thought. Where as the moment someone says they can detect your sub too far, you'll pull a pause on the war action and dispute it for days on end, while around you everyone else is fighting and waiting for you to stop your dispute so they can attack your unit too.
I'll admit this war has been a lot better than previous international wars. Perhaps it's because we stressed to everyone at the start it was meant to be fun and for joint storytelling [though I appreciate telling Babkhan's it can be 'fun' may have given the wrong impressions ]. Perhaps we've just all learnt not to dispute specifics of military actions too far. (by the way, you haven't *really* disputed until you've done a long series of calculations to determine whether the opponent could possibly do the spell they suggested to the volume they suggested in the time they suggested . Most of the time we ignore all the maths ... except in disputes) I don't know. But the tension we are finding is between the different directions recwaring have progressed in the last few years to what people like Extreme, Ardy and the Anticans (who weren't really in WW2 and I don't think much in Lovely's scrap either).

I should point out I haven't directly killed any civilians in this war... and personally I think we should drop the magic and the technology and the guns and go back to fighting with pointy-sticks.

I think your quote speaks for itself, as I obviously have not altered it. I think you have actually (ed.)
Don't know what that means. You sound really mean though, for not caring what I think. You're just too big for me.I don't care for your opinions and even less so when you're not a participant in this recwar. Post another little tirade like that in this recwar and I'll sanction you.

I admit I'm a NOOB and I have no respect for my betters!!! I'm sorry for being such a NOOB I just can't help it.

Re: Anti-Nelagan side Orbats
As a side comment here, i found something funny:
I believe this is what Roman is trying to say, albeit in slightly different terms.
Even after I requested him to define his troops, extreme didn't provide links to half of them (yes, i could search wiki for them [provided there's only one relevant article on that abbreviation], but you could also search wiki for the definitions of prodigy's missiles, couldn't you?). And then, what if some of the abbreviations were home brew weapons that wouldn't be on wiki (like my scalziin, or prodigy's kensai, or anything extreme tried to steal)?Lord_Montague wrote:Btw, you never mentioned your missiles were exactly. Short range, long range, munitions, speed etc. Would be helpful to yourself and everyone else if you could specify as it allows me to know whether you're acting unfairly by immediately moving secretly if Ardy could theoretically attack you straight away.

Actually, he (prodigy?) didn't even mention what the missiles were, be it home brew weapons or real world. He just used the word 'missile'. One could take that as an ICBM or a missile that is wire-guided to hundred meters.Even after I requested him to define his troops, extreme didn't provide links to half of them (yes, i could search wiki for them [provided there's only one relevant article on that abbreviation], but you could also search wiki for the definitions of prodigy's missiles, couldn't you?). And I had linked to most of the descriptions. The rest were F-22s and AC-130s etc.. aircrafts that I assumed everyone has heard or seen of plenty in movies and stuff.

Re: Anti-Nelagan side Orbats
aside from:
10 IFVs = 10 x 40 = 400***
10 AH-64D = 10 x 75 = 750
5 RAH-66 = 5 x 80 = 400
4 A-10 = 4 x 200 = 800****
1 AC-130 = 1 x 150 = 150****
4 Type-45 (air defense)= 4 x 1000 = 4000
20 Special Forces = 20 x 5 = 100
50 Paratroopers = 50 x 3 = 150
300 Infantry = 300 x 1 = 300
1 Nimitz-class = 1 x 1000 = 1000
yes you did.
A type 45 air defense could be anything: G-A missiles, Gatling gun, intercept planes, etc.
The stars for the IFVs could be put on aircraft, ships, or heave vehicles, so we still have no idea what they are.
AC-130/ A-10 is modified to have carrier options. Great. Is that a plane carrying a tank, a ship carrying troops, or a tank carrying infantry?
and maybe the rest of us haven't seen all of these war movies. Different movies are popular in different areas with different people, so that is a horrible assumption to make.
RAH-66. Rotund aerial hippie? Reeking asylum habitat? Random alarm hinderer? at least spell the bloody thing out for us.
the special forces/ paratroopers/ infantry: what weapons do they have? Are they specifically trained to use the weapon they have with great ability or can they operate any weapon proficiently?
Nimitz-class: you brought along a school? And they teach about Nimitz? What is this Nimitz?
I believe I made my point
I had not brought up the point earlier because I had assumed they would be used with half a brain, and it would be clear what they were once you entered the war. Well now that assumption has truly made an ass out of u and me.

Longbow,
The stars act as references points for explanations below the main orbat.
Type 45 is mentioned in the Annunia Convention.
IFV is mentioned in the Annunia Convention.
Everyone knows of the Nimitz class.
Its perfectly fine for extreme to have done what he has done with his orbat so I would greatly appreciate no more discussion on the matter bar one final post from me.

Your single-minded defense of anything extreme does is beginning to vex me.
