Re: Official war thread
A Civilian aircraft runs into troubleSgnt Pepper was flying the Shalatov civilian air craft. He was used to the light touch of fighters, not the sluggish and heavy hydraulics that this plane had. His co pilot was a civilian pilot, but at this moment in time was having a heated aurgument with one of the airhostess's about the best star treck captain. Sgnt Pepper swore they would end up having sex in the planes toilet. The woman was a complete air head who knew nothing about star treck, and the co pilot was one of those trekkies that knew the class of ships that appeared in one set of opening credits. They were now flying over Ashkenatza on a South bearing which would continue to the south coast where he would receive his next instructions. A plane came into veiw, but Sgnt Pepper was not worried. A few seconds later the plane still had not pulled away and alarm bells began to ring. He looked round, the co-pilot was gone. The plane got closer and closer and Sgnt Pepper struggled to force the slugish controls around. The planes air frames screamed and began to judder violently. An automated voice came on the PA.
"We are experiencing slight turbulence. Please do not pannic this is quite normal, and level flight will be achievd soon"
While it said this, the other plane came so close that collision seemed almost inevitable. then right after the announcement clicked on, and as Sgnt Pepper shut his eyes, the plane stalled, dropping beneath the oncomming plane and missing it by a few inches before plumeting, nose down, from the sky. The busy city of Kolmeninsky suddenly became visible through the windsheild...

Re: Official war thread
Summary: Komelnitzkiy's air defences react. The Capital Defence Fliik-Teyl's routine CAP assigned fighter had been alerted to the erratic behaviour of the Shalitov passenger jet which appeared to be airborne in contravention of standing orders clearing the air space of the Republic.
[Red One]: "Have eyeball on two unidentified aircraft over Komelnitzkiy. Requesting permission to engage."
[Pantakrator]: "Yabotinsky authorises interception."
[Red One]: "Affirmative. Wait. The Shalitov, it's banking, sharply... Hashem... what idiot is flying that thing... it's entering into a steep dive.
[Pantakrator]: "Engage immediately."
[Red One]: "Acknowledged. Following into the dive."
[Dalet Battery]: "Targets inside minimum engagement range. Attempt intercept?"
[Pantakrator]: "Negative. Friendlies overhead. All ground batteries stand down. Red One has this shot."
[Dalet Battery]: "Acknowledged."
[Red One]: "Starboard engine in HUD sights. Fox Four. Engaging with guns."
And with that the first burst of illuminating tracer rounds arc'd towards the doomed airliner, and missed. The interceptor pilot cursed. Factoring relative airspeeds into consideration, he would have one more shot on target before the danger of 'overtaking' and slamming into the looming ground below became acute.
[Red One]: "Engaging again. Fox Four."
And this time the rounds flew true. The interceptor felt sure that he could see impact flashes of bullets slamming home on the fuselage and port engine nacelle. He had no time to check however, it was time to pull up, in a gut-wrenchingly drastic manner.
[Red One]: "Target engaged. Pulling up to Angels 5."
[Pantakrator]: "Red One. Confirm intercept?"
[Red One]: "Scanning. Looking. Looking. Wait I see it."
[Pantakrator]: "Smoke trails?"
[Red One]: "Affirmative. It looks like its trying pull out of the dive. G-D, no chance."
[Pantakrator]: "Acknowledged. Notify when you have visual of impact."
Re: Official war thread
Due to a breakdown in communications, I hand over command of +I corps to Herr Mavet, for him to do with as he so desires.
Herr Allenby, would you show a little more crediance in selecting pilots for such missions!

No Stories from me! Excpet a couple lines. Since the Ashkenatzim have send theyre troops wayward, the Provisional Amokolian Authority does the following
-Sends contigents of 1000 troops (Army and Marines for cities on the coast) each to the following cities to keep order:
--Le Terre (With 2 MP Helicopters)
--Petersburg (2 MP Helicopters)
--Cherokee
--Mittlere Stadt (2 MP Helicopters)
--East Mishalan Muse
--Mishalan (2 MP Helicopters, some can fly to EMM when/if needed)
With a total of 6000 troops used up, the rest are still in the Automaticas.

Wow Jess.....great contribution to your liberation war so far!
War Post
Summary:
Cannot be bothered with a long storyline so just to say in summary.....
The remaining units of the Dalmantia Corps abandon their positions and move to Directrus, with equipment and men being transported by air transport apart from the things too large to take which are transported by train.
Once there they will begin setting up defensive positions.

SUMMARY:Leucothe Air had specifically removed alcohol from their in-flight service during the transportation of the troops to Keltia, though it seemed not to matter. Air hostesses had been fondled, crates of Arak and Slivovitz had been hauled aboard (those stocking the cargo in the hold had noticed a sudden increase in weight in the boxes of emergency parachutes), and upholstery had been slashed open for no discernible reason. Burly Jewish Special Forces soldiers tend to find trans-continental flights with nothing to eat somewhat intolerable, this being Tzom Gedaliah, and their irritation could barely be contained by the Field Rabbi of their unit. A small Woody Allen-esque radio operator had started blasting 'Kishefdikher Retenish Reys' (Magical Mystery Tour) by the Beatles, and had barely survived the ensuing beating. Goltz himself was getting agitated, having been on the go for nigh on three days.
A brief stop-off in Nueva Sinagoga, Mahoz HaSephardim had been amusing- the fig trees, onion domes and Maghrebi mystique had been at first disconcerting, but then had a certain allure as, beneath the mountains of pomegranates and effervescent water-pipes in Souk alleyways, this was still part of the Ashkenatzi Republic.
The Gyeneral had amused himself learning some Ladino profanities, used to effect on the bumbling, moustachioed Sephardic Military Police he had taken on in Ladadika whose bright scarlet fezes and brighter scimitars spoke much of the naked face of the Babkhi Celestial Bureaucracy imported to the Mahoz from the former rulers in Kamalshahr.
Kakias had been a warm welcome, the Anticans wishing to prove their fealty to the Eagle-Bagel Pact, but a long journey to Keltia was still to follow, and as the fleet of commandeered civilian jets touched down on the frosty plains of northern Hamland in Koldoff, courtesy of HM Lewis I, Goltz felt back at home as he looked out into the forests surrounding the frontier town. Good locations for Shtetls, he thought- a visit to Hamland's province of Judah would probably be interesting.
He straightened his non-regulation Cossack uniform, thanking HaShem the weather was now suited to his choice of attire- in comparison to the baking sun of Northern Eura- and strode out onto the airstrip as the relevant Hammish military authorities raised the Ashkenatzi, Antican, Amokolian, Shirereithan and Babkhan flags alongside their own as a sycophantic prelude to the reams of paperwork which would later have to be filled out.
The Gyeneral rolled up his highly enjoyable and extremely relevant latest copy of the Litovsker Tagblatt as the troops disembarked behind him and set off for Koldoff barracks.
-Infantry components of Kampfgruppe Goltz previously specified arrive by airliner in Koldoff, Northern Hamland
-C&D Companies of the 2st Battalion, 1st Onfaler Teyl, as well as the Special Forces Infantry of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Pansershturem Teyl 'Toyts-Kop' are for the sake of brevity combined to form the Judæo-Keltian Offensive Operations Unit
- Supplies sourced from Koldoff and local Hammish depots by permission of H.M Lewis I of Hamland
- Forces deployed to Koldoff city and barracks after R&R
- Gyeneral Goltz contacts Palkovnik Szpilman outside La Terre and orders all armoured components of Kampfgruppe Goltz (the infantry now being in Hamland) to merge into the Unified Judæo-Benacian Armoured Contingent, 50% of which is relocated to Cherokee and the remaining 50% to Jeanezville. This will temporarily be under the command of Feldmarshall P.E ben Mavet.

The Cold Blooded Empire
The activity at the Empire's base on Leng has slowed down drastically after the announcement of the signing of the peace treaty. While the air force and the radar units kept themselves ready for any hostile movements, the rest of the military force attached to the 1st Expeditionary Force were trying to keep themselves entertained. In one instance, a tank crew had decided to take their tank out into the open permanent ice just to see how far they could go before they heard the first crack in the ice. It turned out that they were limited in range by the fuel tank capacity rather than the thickness of the ice. Needless to say, the tank crew had been reprimanded and been put to hard work punishment. Though, it certainly made things interesting for the aircrew as they would now fly over the area the tank crew drove out and try to observe the tracks. Some even took pictures of it, but everyone kept it a secret incase they too ended up getting some sort of reprimand. What did start changing on the base was the departure of few units now and then from Leng. These were being flown back to the Imperial capital city of Vader.

nothing happening... a post to keep my forces active rather than have them disappear!

SUMMARY:The early hours of the morning in Koldoff were an eerie time. The only sounds to be heard were the crunch of footsteps on snow, dogs barking in the distance and heavy breathing as the owner of the Hammish truck yard outside the city fumbled with the padlock. With a dull thud, the floodlights went on and row upon row of trucks and lorries in various conditions and of various types could be seen in the compound.
The Gyeneral raised an eyebrow and after a small nip to keep the cold out from his hip-flask, strode between the rows of trucks.
'That one, that one, that one... that one'
The two burly moustachioed Sephardic military police adjusted their fezes to and kept pace behind Goltz, noting frantically as they went. The truck yard owner looked suitably worried.
'H-herr... Gyeneral...' he stuttered, in bad Yiddish
Goltz eyed him suspiciously
'W-will I b-be reimbursed?'
The Gyeneral smiled, and took a scrip of paper and hurredly scrawled something on it.
'I.O.U five shekels and a pickled onion. Signed Goltz'.
Before the poor Hamlander had time to react, Goltz let out a load whistle and the entire 1,257 man strong Judæo-Keltian Offensive Operations Unit came marching quickly through the gate, tearing open the doors of the trucks and filling the compound with the side of excited engine-revving.
One group of White Litovinan squaddies were already strumming on a Balalaika and knocking back the vodka, fluffy Cossack hats balanced rakishly atop their rugged moustachioed features. The scene looked something like what one would have seen in a Cossack encapment in the Russian Civil War- Goltz's intentions, as the vast quantity of Cossack uniforms purchased on credit with military funds were warm, durable, and stylish according to his own personal taste.
A radio operator two was decked out in Cossack finery, though the bulletproof vest and OAH 9mm Pistol were hardly conducive to the appearance. As commanded by the Gyeneral, five Dipou A3s from Kato, Antica, had taken off and were expected to arrive in Koldoff by midday the next day at the earliest.
The Gyeneral found a greasy tool-box in a cupboard by the compound garage and took out a pair of bolt-cutters.
Thirty minutes' stroll through the moonlit slush-encrusted streets of outer Koldoff revealed a wooden stable. A laboured expense of calories later, the chain and padlock came off and Goltz had found another bright white horse.
He spray-painted an Aleph in scarlet on the horse's sides in a moment of bizarre patriotic fervour and galloped off toward the revving trucks filled with troops.
They had the means, the will, and the chutzpah to do it, and the next day, the Judæo-Keltian Offensive Operations Unit would begin its conquest of Ocia.
- Gyeneral Goltz commandeers basic transport for the next day's operations
- The Judæo-Keltian Offensive Operations Unit (1,243 Special Forces Infantry, 14 Infantry) awaits the signal to attack the Ocian border and sets up radio communication with GHQ in Kolmenitzkiy
- The 2nd Bregmeyletzen Fliik Teyl (5 Dipou-A3 Naval Fighters) is transferred to Goltz's control by Feldmarshall P.E ben Mavet and leaves Kato, Antica, via Port Talbot (Hamland) to Koldoff.
Re: Official war thread
Sorry all - too late in blighty to do a story...
Summary:
- +I corps, having been transferred to the control of Herr Mavet, is on guard duty in liberated Northern Amokolia (ask Herr Mavet for details).
- Detachment Astopov, (consisting of 3,264 Infantry, 6 HQ Staff Officers and 160 Close Protection Troops (Special Forces)), drafted from kampfgruppe Megiddo, is formed in Hamland and placed under direct command of Herr Astopov by Herr Mavet.
- Detachment Astopov, also dressed in elegant cossack uniforms (worthy of the colour spreads of "Osprey" books...) do not yet manage to secure enough vehicles to transport them to the Ocian frontier quickly enough. Donning their greatcoats, a grueling march through the tundra ensues...
- Radio contact with the GCHQ in Kolmenitsky via Hamland and KG Goltz is secured in the early hours of the morning
- 20 close protection troops on horseback and 20 standard infantry on skis speed on ahead of the column to keep an eye on the emerging Ocian frontier...
- Detachment Astopov quickly gains a nickname - the "Hambear legion"
