Nothing happening. Still patrolling the PRT's."Check mate!", the Duke exclaimed and looked up at his opponent, Colonel Becks. "Good game as always, dear friend. You beat me last time, perhaps I will not be as lucky one more time?"
The colonel leaned back in his chair and took a long draft on his cigar. "Perhaps not. Let's see. White for me this time." The Colonel made his first move. The Duke smiled and replied, almost instantly.

Re: Official war thread
SUMMARY:Arriving in a potentially hostile city at night after a long journey from an equally eerie frontier (now littered with Yiddish profanities in spraypaint and broken bunkers, having been spiked previously by detachments of Goltz's force) is never easy, but command had stated a positive occupation of Lucern by Gyeneral Astopov's forces.
All that could be heard was the tweeting of owls fornicating in the trees and heavy snoring from the numerous concrete monstrosities which served as Ocian citizens' residences. Remniscent of some Soviet dystopia, the most distinctive features of these cities were their vast highways lined with flat blocks, no doubt built with military access in mind for tanks to run over the occasional protesting student. A few mass-produced cars which looked at first sight like Trabants, Yugos, or Ladas were strewn on both sides of the boulevard.
The Judæo-Keltian Offensive Operations Unit advanced in its entirety through the silent streets of the city- evidently Astopov's troops had done a good job of forcing a curfew, and there were no bars open or drunks loitering homewards on the streets. The entire city was dead, probably due to the small squad which had scouted nearby in a jeep to detonate as many electricity pylons as possible.
Night-time heralded a particular advantage. Somewhere in this city lay a stock of weapons and some misguided Ocians. Not a happy combination. The fact that they were asleep and that Goltz's troops had a small stock of C4 somewhat alleviated this problem.
Deep in the centre of the city, once contact had been made with Astopov's troops, Goltz surveyed the central district of Lucern with a pair of night vision goggles. He gave a friendly thumbs up to one of Astopov's snipers on the rooftop, and to avenge the death of two Ashkenatzi troops who had been shot by the local Ocian police, gave the signal.
Privates Emmanuel Weitschichovsky and Noam Kahana slowly inserted the detonantors of the M112 demolition charges into the C4 and ran, breathlessly repeating the Sh'ma as their Tzitzit billowed dramatically behind them.
The glass of whiskey in Astopov's hand rattled, and three buildings in central Lucern lit up like the eyes of HaShem.
A tear trickled from the corner of Goltz's eye as he remarked on the beauty of the sight.
His two Sephardic adjutants were unmoved, but silently poured themselves glasses of Arak and silently toasted victory.
Nodding gently, Goltz uttered under his breath
" Iz Gut. " What more need be said.
- Upon advancing to Lucern, Judæo-Keltian Offensive Operations Unit send out an advance squad to destroy as many electricity pylons to the city as can be found. Privates Peltzman, Sokol, Zaltzman, Farberman, Levitan, and Shiniyuk return from their mission of spiking (i.e rendering unusable) 50 more of the Ocian pillboxes on the frontier and rejoin the main force.
- The entirety of the force now proceeds slowly, the trucks following behind cautiously with machine gunners trained on the silent flat blocks on either side of the street, and meanwhile make contact with Astopov's troops.
- Goltz and a small advance squad move to the central city via the inconspicuous backstreets and use C4 explosives to demolish three buildings in the city centre believed to harbour potential threats to the occupying Ashkenatzi troops. They are- the city's central constabulary and police armoury, a telephone exchange/ telecommunications centre and finally the Ocian regional Government building, demolished after a covert search revealed no documents of interest could be found therein.
- Five Dipou A3s land in Omricon-Mu Temporary Airbase on the outskirts of the city
- The bulk of the Judæo-Keltian Offensive Operations Unit install military police in central public areas to maintain public order when dawn breaks.
- Press facilities in Lucern closed down to avoid publication of harmful propagandist works by Ocian fascists
- All trains and non allied military and civilian vehicles grounded and roadblocks set up.
- 200 fireteams of five soldiers each (two machine gunners, two snipers, one anti-tank gunner) occupy positions overlooking streets on the outer suburbs (primarily those to the East) of Lucern- anti-tank gunner at second floor level, machine gunners on ground floor, and snipers on rooftops as used by Chechen forces in the 1994-95 Battle of Grozny. Remaining troops patrol central city with Astopov's/ Aster's forces.

No time to come up with a story.

Re: Official war thread
I apologise, Extreme - naturally, some casualties are expected from my forces in Lucern:
15 of Astopov's troopers were killed by gunmen during the advance

Re: Official war thread
OOC: No, Aster- just ignore him. His troops have magically been transported halfway across Ocia in a day- he doesn't understand how to RecWar. Biggest G-d modding I've ever seen.

Re: Official war thread
Montague had received the notification of his commission in the post. Immediately he rang his friend, General Martineyev, and began to receive a rather incredulous reply from Pasha.
"Admiral? Do they think you are your father, Anthony?" asked Martineyev.
"No, and besides what Navy would I command? Its all political. To show that all Ocians, regardless of political beliefs, supports this war. And what better way to promote it than appointing the figurehead of such dissent to the highest post on the Navy. Its quite astute, politically speaking, Pasha." responded Montague with some bemusement.
"Ah, playing politics with our military is foolish! On the brightside I can tell you officially about war progress." said Martineyev somewhat downbeat.
"Not well?" asked Montague.
"No. Our missile attack on their staging area at Koldoff did not bring about the desired results. Radchenko did not move his forces quick enough to Lucern and the enemy now have the city. What the fool will do next I do not know but I am not willing to let him throw away the defence of this nation at its best point. I have already begun moving forces to counter the enemy. Screw any defence plans, Anthony." replied Martineyev.
"Your zampolits will not like that sentiment, Pasha."
"Screw them too. I must go Anthony. Good luck commanding the vast Ocian fleet." finished Martineyev sarcastically.
"Good luck evading your political officers, Pasha."
Summary:
Army Air Support Regiment moves to and sets up a Forward Operations Base at a railyard junction 127km from Lucern. This junction brings all incoming rail traffic to Lucern onto two single tracks, 1 for Westbound and 1 for Eastbound traffic.
Both the Dalmantian Armoured Cavalry and Dalmantian Artillery embark on trains for this junction. Should arrived in 11 hours and 13 hours respecitively. They will be accompanied by their respective anti-air attachments which will be active on railcars.
2nd Special Purpose Regiment paradropped into the position along with all their equipment and transportation.
All Ocian citizens in Lucern to obstruct the enemy in any way possible, including bed ins, peaceful demonstrations and sit down protests.
OOC: Aster, don't ignore Extreme. He has a valid point.
OOC2: Under no circumstances play the Beatles in damned Yiddish. It offensive to my ears.

OOC: Your troops can't travel in armoured cars because they would need to be orbatted. Normal cars, yes. But armoured cars no.

OOC: Maximos, Montague is right... those armored cars are not-orbatted at all.. thus, you cant use them.. or at least they are not armored against Ocian troops anyway, though they might be armored against feather-dusters and colorful languages from the Ocian citizens.

Re: Official war thread
-Troopers from the Hambear legion/detachment Astopov begin to mine the North-Eastern, Eastern and South Eastern routes out of Lucern with anti-personnel mines and anti-tank mines, whilst IEDs are placed inside tunnels in the route.
-Hambear legionaires form checkpoints in the Lucern suburbs assessing all travellers to and from Lucern.
-Astopov takes up residence in the abandoned police station, and, in keeping with his historical interests and current dress, begins to order in crates of Alpha and Mythos beer, large hunks of meat and a krater for mixing water and wine! Herr Mavet, Herr Allenby and Herr Goltz are invited to sample a "Homeric" meal and talk tactics...using pictures of Kovac as plates!
-The local concert halls are used for temporary Tellian Catholic churches, Humanist meeting houses and Ashkenatzi Jewish Synagouges. Astopov attends meetings at all three as as gesture of good faith (awful pun...).
-Route Theoclymenos is formed to facilitate rapid transferral of materials, supplies and reinforcements from Koldoff airbase:

OOC: Maximos, I should have picked up on it earlier but am I assuming that your latest action post takes place tomorrow? It may have changed but there used to be a 1 post per day rule or something equivalent. Your latest post was within 12 hours of your previous post.
