[Backstory] In search of the Motherland
"Comrade Commodore, why is the Ocian flag not flying in the port?" asked Major General Gregoriy Igor Biscan, Commander of the 2nd Infantry Division, Dalmantia Corps. He had been assigned the task of leading the advance force, reinforcing the Amokolian Armed Forces since the border closure with the Ahskenatza. President Kovac, always obsessed with secrecy, had ordered the military transport convoy to remain in complete electronic silence on their trip from the Motherland to this far flung province. He, and the advance force, were completely ignorant to the intrgue that had happened on their voyage. That war had been declared, Amokolia had revoked its Union with Ocia and that most of the nation was in open revolt against all forms of authority was unknown to Biscan.
"I do not know Comrade General. I will radio the Port Authority immediately." replied the Commodore, a burly man who had served in the Ocian Merchant Navy for many years and had risen through its ranks with great ease in the "worker's paradise."
Biscan stood on the bridge and kept surveying the docklands through his binoculars. Ther was no sign of activity. There were no ships docked in what should have been a busy Port. He was aware of the shuffling and annoyed voices emnating from the radio room aboard the transport ship. He turned and walked to the room.
"Comrade Commodore, what is the problem?" asked Biscan politely.
"The Port Authority is stating that they no longer recognise the authority of the Ocian Government and that we should turn around immediately or otherwise face the consequences." relayed the Commodore. Picking up the radio microphone, Biscan began to speak.
"La Terre Port Authority, you may not recognise the Authority of my Government but you will recognise the authority of my guns. I have enough military power with me to raise your city to the ground. We will dock in an hour and you will accomodate my force. Agreeing to this will spare you and the city any penalty." said Biscan forcefully but in control. There was a pause as the person on the other end of the line considered his options. A terse reply of "Agreed" settled the matter.

Once in the City, a meeting with his sneior staff settled the situation for Biscan. He summed it up to them after being briefed as best as possible.
"So, we're alone in a rebellious area facing the entire might of a nation's army. We are cut off from supplies and communications with the Motherland while our supposedly great, wise and glorious Leader Dr. Kovac fiddles away as Amokolia burns."
"Yes, Comrade. Shall we surrender?" asked an Infantry Colonel.
"No. Kovac is not worth dying for and neither is that fool Radchenko. Dalmantia and Ocia expect though. And we shall deliver if, and when, we die trying. Brief the troops. They have saved Dalmantia in the past before and they will do so again but this time in a foreign land."

The very man himself. I figure his ability to put through balls through the Juve defence might serve us well.

Nah, sounds more like he's the forlorn hope intending to make a stand for the honour of Ocia.
