Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
The Grand Vizier asked me to clarify the plans of the Government-in-Exile, following the concerns expressed by the esteemed Ric and Malliki in the administrative council.
1) On the use of real life place names: they are but a remnant of the original claim on Micras. In the new claim, no real life place names are used. After the resettling of the exiles, a new constitution should be drafted. A new capital and new national symbols should be adopted. A nation name change can be considered if the administrative council of the MCS so wishes.
2) The Government-in-Exile wishes to resettle this island, because it was also the place where it was offered santuary by the Republic of Mercury. The conditions on the island are harsh, but nevertheless habitable. The ruins of the city of Lucerne will offer shelter, as they did before. After rebuilding the city and regrouping the settlers, additional claims will me made on the continent a Corum.

Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
Thank you Frans for taking into account our concerns. I’m satisfied with your answer as to how the island is settled, and that new names will be submitted. I also think a new name for your country should be wise. I look forward to hearing from you again.

Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
I do wish to clarify that the idea of changing the name of the IIR to "fit" Micras is merely the personal preference of the Council members who suggest it, not an official line or request from the MCS itself. My personal feeling is that the MCS is not in the position to ask prospective claimants to be renamed and that doing so could set an uncomfortable precedent. Any change to the IIR's name should be from its representatives' decision, rather than as a mandated prerequisite of its return to Micras
Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
We do however constitute 40% of the full members of the Council and a plurality of those that have voted so far. Unless there is one more statement of support from the other members, we are merely a strong minority.
Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
I'd like to point out that Lucerne is also a real-world place
The suddenly found zealousy of the two NAY-sayers is admirable but also seems quite odd considering that they have never said anything about the real-world copying by nations like Krasnarsus or Phinbella.

Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
It's the French/English version of the city you may know better as "Luzern" in Dutch
Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
It's a city in Switzerland, but if you look at the claimsmap, you will find many places with a name that also occurs in the real world. The majority of Alduro-Wechuan names for example.
So, this sudden focus on names is just very random, and it's my opinion that it is pretty ridiculous to reject your claim based on this, as long as there are other nations on Micras who do the same and get AYEd without any objection.

Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
I have no objection to Lucerne. My objection is to the "Islamic Internet" part of the name.
Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
Jack, you're free to say whatever you like, but it is inconsequential.
Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
"Polish Republic of Freeland" however was no issue...

Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
Nothing that I voted on. Besides, it did change its name after people pointed out the inconsistencies.
Re: [IIR] Claim reservation request
Jack, are you involved with the IIR? Otherwise I'm not sure what your agenda is here? I'm fine with questions, but we have tried to explain and yet you keep being antagonistic.
