Notice of Reduction to the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union

The Council has in its meeting on 16/11/2020 concluded that the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union has not sufficiently developed its land through activity for the past 90 days.

In accordance with Part H of the Charter, the Council has voted to issue a notice of reduction to the the the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union.

As such, the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union has fourteen days to propose reasonable reductions to its territory. In the event that the Council finds the proposed reduction to be unreasonable, or in the event that the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union does not propose any reductions of its territory, the Council will unilaterally decide on a reasonable reduction.

Any territory reduced from the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union will be reserved for 30 days from the reduction takes place, during which time no country other than the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union can claim it, provided that the Haifo-Pallisican Imperial Trade Union provides sufficient activity and development to sustain that re-claim.
This is the first we've had to put a reduction request through based on the rules set-out in the new Charter, so the process isn't completely nailed down just yet. We've agreed that such notices should be placed here (as well as directly to the nation's representatives) to act as a place for the proposed reduction to be submitted, or a lack thereof discussed, prior to voting taking place; akin to a traditional claim thread...

The reduction request at this stage isn't, in the Council's opinion, enough. While we appreciate the increased levels of activity since the request was made, that would go more towards reclaiming during the 30-day grace period, but we still need to see a reasonable reduction in the first place.

The claim won't be moved to Added & Rejected Claims just yet, as you're still within the 14 day period to make your proposal, for what I hope, will only be a temporary reduction.

Feel free to suggest a number of pixels. I could keep guessing all day, or the council could be transparent about what it wants.

We would like to see a reduction of roughly 20 percent.

Is that the consensus of the council?

It is the collective decision of the Council.

I said we, not I.

To be clear, the council wants me to give an entire continent's worth of my territory, accumulated over 6 years, because I haven't been incredibly active in 90 days. That is frankly a fantastic way to drive members out of the community. But hey, that's the charter.

As you said, that is the Charter, and I can't see a compelling reason why it should just apply to others and not you as well. I suggest you revise your proposal so the land removed is your choice and not ours.

And the removed land will be reserved for 30 days as previously stated, so if we see your activity pick up you shouldn't have a hard time reclaiming.

30 days to reclaim territory that took 6 years of hard, dedicated work to accumulate. That's nonsense and you know it. I'm a lot more likely to quit the community than I am to out in that effort to appease a council that wants me gone.

So well done, Maliki, you've likely rid the community of the evil Bijaro. At last.

It's very difficult to have a discussion with a person who isn't rational. The council doesn't want you gone and I'm not the council, and disregarding my own personal opinions, I don't want you gone for the sake of the community. Hell I probably don't want you gone at all, there are several people higher up on my personal shitlist than you, since we never actually interact. I can't tell you what to do, obviously, but I do hope you stick around. As for an insight into our discussions, the consensus seems to be that if your activity picks up again, you shouldn't have a lot of difficulty reclaiming territory.

That being said, the charter is in the public domain. Prolonged periods, in this case three months, of low activity will lead to a reduction. In this case, my best guess is that you're overextended and simply can't maintain one of the largest claims on Micras by yourself, while also handling the Bassarid Periphery, while handling real life time constraints. We all need to make priorities. You also had ample opportunity to protest this while the new charter was being discussed, and you had opportunity to vote against it when it came up for a vote. As far as I recall, you did none of those things.

As for your claim it took you six years to accumulate 8,500 pixels (which is about 20% of your total), mainland Sanama is 17,000 pixels. It didn't take me 12 years to accumulate that.
