Reduction in Crowsilver (map pending)
Notes: Maintaining a keen eye on recent events, and no-less keen to join in the fun of breaking up tee-al ranges, the Imperial Republic feels it necessary to make a limited adjustment to its frontiers. This expansion is to be paid for by a fortuitous native uprising driving the Imperials and Goldshirians out of mainland Crowsilver.

This should roughly work out at the surrender of 1,180 pixels to acquire 1,038 pixels.

While we're waiting on that second map... do Shireroth and Jingdao ever intend to submit an update for the Benacian territories exchanged in the War of Lost Brothers, or does a reversion to status quo ante need adding to the narrative? Having neither after this long is... irksome.

I prefer uti possidetis, Jonas prefers status quo ante. Leaves us in a hypothetical situation of unrecognised occupations, which amuses me.

I'd be quite happy to knock together a map showing the expanded mainland enclave and the occupied Diwangdao isles as 'disputed', so as to reflect the whole "frozen conflict" thing.

As a fitting punishment for your mutual inability to resolve the matter, the ugly stripes of disputation would be perfect :P You may as well throw it in with this claim (not forgetting the inland half of Itteria which I believe remains in Shirerithian hands).

Regarding the Crowsilver reduction, the reduction refers to all continental areas of the Crowsilver area (accordingly, the islands remain Shirerithian).

The land would be awkward and off putting for any new nation trying to claim.
 Who the hell is going to claim in those pockets of land other than Kalgachia, Kasterburg, or Shireroth (and if either of the other two do they have my wholehearted support) but seriously a new nation that decides to drop itself into a landlocked continental interior rather than onto the vast swathes of green making up the rest of the world deserves a slap. :P

As for being on a whim, the policy of a hegemonic continental empire is to be hegemonic on a continent. We might not have hung much of a narrative on this particular peg but Shireroth's reduction-fed "expansionist" behaviour - of divestment and consolidation - has been consistent.

I'm guessing the issue is more with the general precedent set by 'spider web' claims than the circumstances of the land in question. From a Council standpoint, the implications for Micras as a whole have to be considered. That said, the reasons for rejection could have been articulated better.

Back to the drawing board with you - Benacia hasn't seen the end of the gravimetric horde yet

Point taken.

I really need to vote on council issues when I'm not tired :P

On a serious note though, the point that I was trying to raise was that unclaimed lands that are circled by an existing nation are off-putting to new nations and third party nations, which means that the land in question would only likely ever be attempted to be claimed by someone who either was Shireroth or would use the lands as part of a simulation that involved Shireroth. (I hope that makes sense).
