[DAO] The Transbataafsche Vrystaat (modification)
MCS Change Request Form (Expansions/Modifications)
Name & Title: Jonas
E-Mail/Contact: pm
Nation: Jingdao
Request:
I would like to claim this territory. In return, the lands between Gerenia and East Gerenia (north of the river) can be removed.
Notes:
I have been inactive for a while now (work, no time, travels, ...), but with a bit of free time coming up, I wanted to revive some of my interest in the micronational hobby. Benacia is, at the moment an interesting place to be, and I want to aid in making the situation a little bit more interesting.
To summarise the story I'm working on (trying to stay in line with the work of the Shirerithians and Jack): in the aftermath of the War of Lost Brothers, Shirerithian interest in the Green Benacian territories has grown. Batavian settlers (the western part of the country is the former province of Hoorne and Ashkenatza Minor) take up their guns, rally behind the charismatic lieutenant-general Baerdemans and push back mercenaries who are seeking glory and riches in those lawless territories. The Batavians establish their own government and make a push eastwards (towards Kalgachia). Pressured from all sides, they proclaim the establishment of the Transbataafsche Vrystaat: a republic with harsh apartheid policies, inclined in protecting the untouched Batavian culture (at least, that's how they see it).
The Transbataafsche Vrystaat will act as a separate country, and not as part of Jingdao.
I'm looking through the archives of Batavia (including old forums and wiki) and will soon re-publish some cultural stuff from those times (adapted to the current situation of course)

*Glances up from a book on the Boer War*
All this has happened before, and all this will happen again.

Could you add Nackholm back in? I'm vaguely attached to that place.

Re: [DAO] The Transbataafsche Vrystaat (modification)
No problem with that (didn't remove the icon for that reason, btw), but the place I have to add city names is rather limited... perhaps it works if I move around the Kalgachian town name (and remove [KAL]).Thorgils Tarjeisson wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 7:46 pmCould you add Nackholm back in? Should this pass, I'll find a way to squeeze everything in when adding it to the map, if that saves any panicJonas Windsor wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 8:43 pmNo problem with that (didn't remove the icon for that reason, btw), but the place I have to add city names is rather limited... perhaps it works if I move around the Kalgachian town name (and remove [KAL]).

You really should know by now that the answer to that question - is yes.
All this has happened before, and all this will happen again.

While I do not wish to contradict other parts of this claim. This is not true, we are willing to vacate any overseas territories necessary, but nothing on the Apollonian mainland or islands directly adjacent to Jingdaoese main territory.Jonas Windsor wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 6:55 pmI would like to claim this territory. By all means try again when you have a better idea of what you're ceding - some more development in the meantime would help too.

Re: [DAO] The Transbataafsche Vrystaat (modification)
No problem, I don't mind some development (especially because I finally have some time off).
Just wanted to say that I (respectfully) disagree with Joe's thought that this would be "to get one over on Shireroth". I could give a long statement (with probably meaningless statements) but I'm sure that wouldn't change anyone's mind. While I can agree with the arguments of the other members, I think that one statement of Joe is simply a too subjective argument.

Re: [DAO] The Transbataafsche Vrystaat (modification)
It was not an accusation by any stretch, I was just giving my opinion based on the fact it came so closely after the recent IRS claim in the same area. Of course without being familiar with what goes in internally in Jingdao, it was only speculative

Of course. It's not like I don't understand where you're coming from.

It's not like we would do something to annoy the Shiretits!
