Motion of no confidence in server operator Halian

It seems to be clear that Halian is unfit to have the kind of administrative powers that come with the position of server operator. He gets involved in arguments, thereby using foul language and insults, but still uses his administrative privileges to then sanction others involved in that argument. His character is not suited to having the power to mute, ban or kick users from the discord. As the discord has become a crucial part in micronational communication, it is not acceptable that Halian has the kind of control over the server that he currently has, considering his record and lack of objectivity. Halian was never appointed to this position, but has the server operator powers by virtue of being the guy who started the server. It would of course be best if Halian himself recognised that he is not the right person for the position, but somehow I doubt this will happen.

Therefore, the following motion: Halian should relinquish his administrative privileges on the Micras Discord Server, and should transfer the role of server operator to Craitman

This motion will carry the weight of the micronational community, and if accepted, will be a powerful appeal to Halian to follow the request of the motion.

Let's have 72 hours to debate, and this motion can be put to a vote on Tuesday.

Actions have consequences. None of us can be on our best behavior all of the time, but overall, we seem to manage just fine. Halian has already given you plenty of chances to learn to take responsibility for how you carry yourself on the server. In the end, you have to do it yourself, because nobody else can do it for you.

I'll be honest: the fact that this motion comes so closely on the heels of your muting makes it hard to credit the idea that you're acting entirely out of a concern for the proper administration of the server. Hal's approach to things isn't always what I would do, but the fact of the matter is that, by and large, it's really not that hard to avoid a situation in which he feels the need to take action, and most people seem to do so successfully.

Under those circumstances, I don't see why it's either necessary or desirable for him to relinquish server op power.

As someone who also removed themselves from being Discord admin due to a similar situation... I can relate.

I'm just here to say Halian deep down really and actually means well. I trust him, 100%. There may be times where I disagree with his decisions or actions, but his commitment to make the Discord server for this community run smoothly and be safer for folks is genuine and in good faith. That is immensely more than can be said about Jack, in almost any situation. Every time he's gotten called out for being an ass in public, he throws a fit. Don't have much sympathy for that astonishing lack of awareness, since you know, this happens like clockwork and people see fit to repeat the same mistake (leeting him back in only to make a fool of himself later on, doing the same things AGAIN) to the detriment of the community and everyone else in it.

When enough people disagree with something Hal does, I don't recall a time he's insisted on not retracting a statement or decision. That being said, I'm ambivalent about the whole thing. As Ardy said, we've just got to accept that the guy who controls the resource is the guy who controls the resource. If he pulls a stupid decision out of his hat, I can at least trust the guy to respect the community's general animosity and reverse something he does.

No offense to the guy, but yeah, there are better candidates for admin out there. However, he's at least willing to listen when shit hits the fan. For that and a few other reasons, at least he's not the worst admin possible, judging by any yardstick we might use here. For now, that's enough for me.
