Lucerne, today - It's election day in the Islamic Internet Republic. The former exiles can chose a new head-of-state: the Sadr.

The election of the Sadr is peculiar under the 2010 Electoral Code. A candidate cannot nominate himself, but has to be nominated by another citizen. Next to that, the elections are not per secret ballot, but openly on the nation's forum. There was but one candidate proposed, incumbent Sadr Saladin. He already received enough yes votes to claim victory.

Under the IIR constitution, the Sadr is a ceremonial head-of-state, with very little reserve powers. It's unknown whether the new constitution that's currently being drafted, will substantially change the office.

Saladin is in for another term. He's been the Sadr of the IIR since 2010.
