Vegno ratifies the General Membership Treaty of the MTO
COSSA, VEGNO - The Assemblea Nazionale approved (with 85 votes in favor and 15 abstentions) the application for MTO membership, giving the green light to the process. Considering the largely favorable outcome of the vote, President Antonio Visciglia proceeded to ratify the General Membership Treaty by signing it live on national television. "Our nation has grown and will continue to grow," Visciglia told reporters in Dilemma Palace. "We are honored to be able to sit in the MTO General Assembly, sharing our ideas and opinions on international issues".
"This is only Vegno's first step in international politics," Visciglia said. "Together with Prime Minister Zarrella and his cabinet, we will soon open the diplomatic channels with neighbors and other nations that share our same values of freedom and democracy". The intent of Visciglia administration will be to inaugurate embassies in foreign territories and to allow the opposite as well, encouraging the opening of foreign embassies in the nation. "We will invite foreign leaders and their delegations to visit our capital, showing the beauties of our land and our young country", Visciglia announced on this historic day.
