New Member State: New Victoria
Member States of the MCS,
I am delighted to announce to you that my country, the Kingdom of New Victoria, was formally accepted into the Micronational Cartography Society earlier today. Our entire realm is filled with joy and is glad to be able to contribute to this community!
Briefly, the Kingdom of New Victoria is a limited monarchy. I, Charles I, am the current King, but my powers are regulated by both a parliament and a Constitution.
According to the latest MCS maps, our realm has no immediate neighbors. None the less, we would be happy to consider any diplomatic treaties and alliances with any other member states. If you would like to commence diomacy with our nation. Please either send us a private message here, or visit our website (http://newvictoria.org).
We are also looking for citizens and will be happy to recognize duel-citizenship with any of the member-states. If you are interested in applying for any of our government positions, please let us know.
Thank you!
-Charles I

Thank you very much, Erasmus!Erasmus wrote:Welcome to the world! Please visit Jingdao one day!
I just quickly looked at the Jingdao - the blend of Chinese Imperial and European culture is amazing. I have do a question: does the Government there understand either English or German? The website looks to be mostly in Dutch, which I can read just fine because of the similarities to English and German, but can't speak/write.
Thank you again,
Charles R

Hail, Your Majesty! Good to see a well-spoken (or rather -written?) and friendly person joining our community. I wish New Victoria all the best, and I'm glad to see your claim has been successful. I'm also glad to see a British- or English-themed nation back on the map, and I hope you will be true to that theme as you develop. One of the first micronational projects I was involved in was based on the theme of the British Empire, and was called New Brittania: you can still see, at the north pole of the map, a note saying we were the first to reach it.
I'm Benkern, and I spend most of my time in the Imperial Republic of Shireroth. We're hosted together on the Bastion forums with Jingdao & Southbatavia so if you register on the forum to pay them a diplomatic visit, you have no excuses about not visiting us. Shireroth is one of the oldest nations on Micras, and certainly the longest-claiming - we founded the map and this organisation. I think certain micronations, like Reunion, might have started before this map was founded and made a claim relatively recently, but we have never left the map. I'm not a diplomat for Shireroth, I'm count of a small island and Minister for Information, but I'm sure the new Kaiseress Mira Raynora would be happy to receive you in the Kaiser's Court. The continent on which New Victoria has staked its claim is called Keltia, and that whole Eastern hemisphere has traditionally been an area in which Shireroth has little involvement, besides a long-gone claim to the Duchy of Lothlaria which was a little larger than the combined holdings of Uantir and Juclandia to your north. Which makes the arrival of your nation to Micras an excellent opportunity to make friends and forge bonds of diplomacy and trade!

Whoops, thanks Crait, for some reason I mislocated NV's claim completely!

Re: New Member State: New Victoria
Thank you all for the most gracious messages of welcome you have sent to my kingdom and me!
To all of you who suggested that I visit certain realms: My government and I are heavily inundated with work right now, however, we have visited several nations, but have only had time to start diplomatic relations with a couple of them. If you have not received anything from us yet, it is simply due to a lack of time on our part.
Also, if anyone out there is interesting in occupying a position in our government, there are several open right now, and we would delighted to have help!
(Currently the positions are unpaid, but that is only until we create a currency system, which sound occur very soon.) Just visit us at NewVictoria.org and post about wanting a position!

Namesakes actually. There have been two previous Victoria's: an anglophone and one in the Dutch sector, as you can see from the wiki link.Maximos wrote:You may find it interesting to read up on your namesake!

And we have one in Polish sector. So yeah, a quite widely-used name.
Anyway, this is my first post on this topic, so welcome to Micras I hope you'll enjoy being here and meet some nice people (as you've already started diplomatic activity)

Yes, welcome to the community. I'm impressed by what I see so far in New Victoria, so much so that I've given you some press time in the Coprieta Standard: http://www.micronationhistory.info/?p=3450
Feel free to stop by Gotzborg someday to say hello and establish relations. I've recommended to His Royal Majesty to make a trip your way as well.
