Thanks! Always feel guilty with self-nominations, so thanks for the backing
Re: FNORD AWARDS 2012
I fourth the nomination for Craitman. Despite being a procrastinating git, he does manage to get an awful lot done.
I also throw my support behind Arne getting an award.

Re: FNORD AWARDS 2012
Thanks Jonas, Erwin and Monty for your nominations of the Coprieta Standard. I'm honoured by the nomination! My hands are all the more pleased that the pain and continued preparations they endure for a future diagnosis of Carpal tunnel syndrome through typing this year's 103 articles is appreciated.Jonas Windsor wrote:Charles Beard Award for Conflict Resolution: Kaiser Stanislaus I / Benkern for successfully solving a conflict between Jingdao and Stormark about the area which is now Shanglu.
Iain Jacobson Award for Journalism: both the Coprieta Standard as the Batavian Post.
As for Craitman, I fifth his nomination, and I stare begrudgingly at everyone else for forcing him to self-nominate
For the Micronational History Award, since I should probably put forward a nomination for an Award that I created for the FNORDs and somehow ended up being named for me, I nominate Joe Foxon/Craitman and their other sports-oriented colleagues who have painstakingly documented Micras' sports history (specifically football) at MicrasWiki, which is a role that they play in the community that too often goes without recognition, as we tend to overlook the enjoyment sports simulation has brought to the community for the last 12+ years of its history, i.e. since it was founded.
Also, I'd like to nominate for the Rebecca Panks Award for the Graphic Artz, August Charles II of Gotzborg, who continued his well-respected and talented graphics arts production with what I feel are unique, professional and modern brand images for the Gotzborg Home Office vice-ministries as can be observed at this link: http://www.gotzborg.com/gtzwiki/index.p ... ome_Office
Re: FNORD AWARDS 2012
Of course I am crossposting, but I would like to share my opinion on the nominations for the Batavian Post and the Coprieta Standard with the judges and bring this in as evidence, our latest article on The Iain Jacobson Award for Journalism

Re: FNORD AWARDS 2012
I want to make four nominations. I have deliberately chosen topics that are close to my heart and nominees that have not been nominated yet in this thread.
The Award for Literature:
I nominate the Senate of Elwynn. OK, I know that I am biased but the literature I am speaking of had a great effect on Elwynn and nations beyond. "Senate taken hostage" also took place in other parts of Elwynn, with Prince Nathan trying to calm Ashkenatza down with iPhone messages (with status updates!) while hostage. Shireroth responded by demanding the release of Ayreon II (then kaiser, later prince of Elwynn). The best micronational literature may not be the one best according to literary quality but the one involving many and shaping the community.
The Award for Cultural Development:
I wish to nominate the People's Academy of Elwynn. From keeping discussions and information on the dark side of Elwynnese modern culture to holding important political debates, the People's Academy also has works on language (which actually made Elw a ceremonial language further on in Elwynn, both in west and east). The Academy also has published an Encyclopaedia of Elwynnese People of Importance (unfinished but so should everything in micronationalism be!),
The Award for Micronational History:
Vilhelm Benkern for his chronicles over Mar Sara.
Timeline based on real events put in a Micras context. The Mar Sara forum puts a lot history in "modern" context too.
The Award for Overall Achievement:
I nominate Rossheim. A year ago she (or he) was almost unknown outside Stormark and now she is the ruler of Sangun, Treisenberg and Shireroth. She managed to give Shireroth a new charter, following years of bickering and months of drafting and more bickering, a charter that everyone actually seems to like at the moment. She is a designer too, making coat of arms, drawing maps. This is the best achievement, I find, over the year.

I fifth this nomination. Craitland has always seemed to me to be one of the most agreeable spots on Micras.Craitman wrote:Also, sod it, I'll be cheeky and self-nominate myself for Overall Achievement 'cause Craitland's anniversary reminded me how long I've been around and what I've actually managed to do in that time...

Re: FNORD AWARDS 2012
Thanks for the compliment. I'm heartened that the Batavian Post picks up the slack on the entertaining front when it comes to current events; I am after all rather dull and boring, so says the FNORD Award from 2002 on my mantleErasmus wrote:Of course I am crossposting, but I would like to share my opinion on the nominations for the Batavian Post and the Coprieta Standard with the judges and bring this in as evidence, our latest article on The Iain Jacobson Award for Journalism
