The New Victorian Constitutional Convention
People of Micras,
As many here are aware, the Kingdom of New Victoria suffered from various issues last January, which culminated with the dissolution of the entire kingdom. These problems were, admittedly, largely caused by fraud and distrust on my own part.
Now, many months later, I have come before you today to announce that I would like to mend the sullied reputation of New Victoria. Though now but a pygmy, I persist in believing that our kingdom may one day be a great and prosperous micronation. In order to realize that dream, and after much personal deliberation, I have decided to restore New Victoria and to reform its government.
I have realized recently that one person cannot effectively run a government. In order for the people of a nation to truly prosper, they must be actively involved in a representative government. It is my intention to act on these words - from the start.
As soon as a website can be effectively set up, the Kingdom of New Victoria will be hosting a Constitutional Convention. Anyone interested in helping to build our nation will be welcome. We will start by discussing ideas for the New Victorian Government, and decisions shall be made through general elections.
In this way, the citizens of New Victoria will actively participate in bringing their realm into the twenty-first century. They will be given their right to determine the general composition of their own government. There will be a few restrictions, put in place by me, in order to ensure that the nation remains true to its reminiscent British theme, as well as to protect the freedoms of the populous. They are honestly minimal and I intend to give this Convention as much liberty as is possible. For complete details, see the charter below.
It is my solemn intention, and my ultimate responsibility, to be a new monarch; a different monarch than I was previously; a modern monarch. Therefore, in order to mark the change, I have decided to become King Charles II. I have also repudiated the title "Defender of the Faith & Supreme Governor of the New Victorian Church". There shall henceforth be no official Church of New Victoria, and I shall take the title "Defender of Faith" (- something it is rumored that Prince Charles shall do when he accedes to the British Throne). All peaceful religions shall be equally condoned and accepted.
I have already contacted a few people from the Micronational Cartographical Society, who have expressed interest in participating in the upcoming convention. Please let me know if anyone else is interested. Either post below, send a private message to this account, or email me at kingdomofnewvictoria@gmail.com. Participants in the Convention shall automatically be granted New Victorian citizenship, regardless of past standing with the realm or with me. I shall post an update when we have a website up and running.
Thank You For Your Time,
-Charles II

The Reformation Charter of the Kingdom of New Victoria
By the Command of His Majesty, CHARLES II, by the Grace of God, King of New Victoria and Defender of Faith;
WHEREAS We wish to reestablish Our Kingdom of New Victoria and restore the nation to its former glory;
AND WHEREAS We recognize the wanton lack of law, and the subsequently manifest need for governmental reform;
LET IT BE KNOWN that We, by Our Especial Grace, through these Presents, and by Mere Motion do decree that a Constitutional Convention is to be held in the Capital City of Kingstown; and do declare that all persons interested in rebuilding New Victoria shall be invited to attend and participate;
LET IT THEREFORE BE KNOWN that We, through Our de facto Power as King, do authorize this Constitutional Convention to create a legally binding and perpetual Constitution for the Kingdom of the New Victoria, to which both Our subjects and We are bound, so long as the following stipulations are met:
(1) In order to maintain its British style, New Victoria must remain a parliamentary monarchy;
(2) New Victorian citizens must be, in this Constitutional Document, guaranteed freedom of: speech, expression, association, religion, and political opinion/determination;
(3) The final Constitution must be formally ratified by both the King and a majority of the participants of the Constitutional Convention, in order to be enacted as law.
And We do Command that this Decree have immediate effect on this, the seventh day of August, during the two-thousand-and-thirteenth year of the Common Era.
And We do further Command that this Decree be given to Our subjects as law, and that it be proclaimed throughout Our Realms.
CAR TEL EST NOTRE BON PLAISIR,
Charles II
King of New Victoria

Genuinely interested in this, as it's a good opportunity to start afresh and have a second chance. I'd very much like to come along and have a nosey!

Would you be interested in participating in the Convention, to help New Victoria set up a better government? You're welcome to do so! Or not - whatever you're more comfortable with.

I hope you understand any potential hesitance on the part of the community on hearing this news. I wish you all the best in your project and in time I hope you will prove yourself and your nation to be an upstanding, creative and respectable member of this community. I won't be joining your nation but I will certainly be keeping an eye on it.

Yes, I completely understand any potential hesitance. I'm happy to say, however, that the idea has already received a great deal of positive feedback from the community and a few people have decided to join New Victoria once again.
