6 Islands Stock Exchange Software presented
Those of you who frequent the Bastion Union might have stared with admiration at the SCX-levels information in Gralus' newsbox. Jonas and I did at any rate and we wanted a copy of that, we got the code of the SCUE bank with its mods but after playing an hour or so with it I decided this was overkill. We did not want to make a rivaling bank to the SCUE bank but just something which would enable us to simulate our own economy and something that would work with out forums. How hard can it be, right? I have created a few scripts that I can run locally on my linux server (not pointed at the internet) and which will then upload the results to our micronatie.net domain. These results are in a similar format as the file Gralus' newsbox uses so we hope we will be able to include them in our theme as well. A preview can be found here and the code, which is unstable and potentially dangerous so should probably not be used right now*, can be found here, comments are also welcome over there.
* I intend to make these scripts more portable, safe and stable in future versions.
Q: Is it random-number based or interactive?
A: The numbers are randomized in three stages, first it is determined if the growth might be drastic (0-6%) or not drastic (0-1.5%), the chance of the growth to be "might be drastic" are 1 in 15. The third stage is that it will be determined if the number should be pawsitive or negative. No interaction is required by design.

Is there some way to modify this to allow an actual change in order to accommodate different economic policies?

It wasn't designed to be interactive in any way, so while your suggestion is technically possible I don't think I will implement it any time soon.
I could make a module if you could tell me more precisely what kind of input would result in what kind of result.

Re: 6 Islands Stock Exchange Software presented
Here is version 0.0.3. I have slightly updated the code so it should scream at the user instead of writing errors to disk, also the ftp-password is now stored outside of the application folder. (0.0.3). Output is now a html-file which should be used in an iframe, instead of a text-file with html codes (0.0.2). No other improvements.
I doubt anyone can do something with this code but I place it here just in case.
