Re: Resurrection of the Trans-Keltian Railway
Such a treaty would not be appropriate with Mercury anyway, as our rail network isn't state-owned (although it is regulated).

Re: Resurrection of the Trans-Keltian Railway
I merely offered the forum in Ergonia because, well, I can.I would urge everyone to keep discussion and work done a neutral and international project on the neutral and international Micras/Hub boards. This is to the obvious exclusion of internal discussions in a prospective nation to decide on if they want to participate and have line in their territory.
If everyone wants to use threads on hub.mn instead, that
is perfectly welcome.
I too support a formal business contract or agreement, outlined in
writing. Why?
Just how many times has someone else stolen and/or destroyed
someone else's creation in this hobby? Far too many times. A
formal, written agreement would prevent that from happening.
It would ensure that this railway would be THE international railway
on Keltia for years to come. It's 2018 and a nation wants to join?
Nobody would be mean about it, but logos, track gauge, fair
prices, safety protocols--any standardized stuff would all need to
be implemented by the nation that wants to join.
Re: Resurrection of the Trans-Keltian Railway
All cogent points, and joe made my point by acknowledging that not every nation can necessarily sign a treaty for the rail, but any versatile documentation on the work done on this project would be an extremely valuable addition.GilesMelang wrote:I too support a formal business contract or agreement, outlined in writing.

Re: Resurrection of the Trans-Keltian Railway
You could have easements instead of treaties. That's how a lot of municipalities work it.

Yay, I'd be delighted to see this project getting traction (no pun intended)

I hasn't thought about easements, but that's actually a perfect fit.

Alexandria welcomes these developments! How can we get involved?

Re: Resurrection of the Trans-Keltian Railway
If you can provide any details of the internal rail networks for the Alexandrian territories, so they can be added to the map, that'd be great
Re: Resurrection of the Trans-Keltian Railway
Sadly, we still don't have mapping that is detailed enough to show that. But I can definitely see if I can commission such a map so we can readily provide it.

Even if it's just lines drawn on in Paint, it'll do nicely for me!Edgard wrote:Sadly, we still don't have mapping that is detailed enough to show that. But I can definitely see if I can commission such a map so we can readily provide it.
Re: Resurrection of the Trans-Keltian Railway
I would like to propose a draft template easement:
EASEMENT AND RIGHT OF WAY
APPLICABLE TO THE TRANS-KELTIAN RAILWAY
STATE:
COUNTRY:
GRANTOR: (Name and Address)
GRANTEE: (Name and Address)
EFFECTIVE DATE:
On [DATE], Grantor, named above, granted and conveyed to Grantee named above, an Easement and Right of Way (the “Easement”) across lands in the country and state named above. That Easement is recorded in [LEGISLATIVE RECORD] of the country in which the lands are located.
WHEREAS, Grantor owns certain real property, commonly referred to as
_____________________________
WHEREAS, Grantee seeks a permanent easement and right-of-way through and within________________________________, for the purpose of locating, establishing, constructing, maintaining, repairing, and operating railway lines and mains and the right of ingress and egress in, from and to said easement, for the purpose of inspecting, maintaining, and repairing such railway lines for widths of 100 and 150 feet within the line.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties enter into this Easement Agreement this____ day of _______.

Re: Resurrection of the Trans-Keltian Railway
Ergonia is fine with signing the easements (with some modifications) for the Middle Route.
In the easements, the GRANTEE would be specified as "The Trans-Keltian Railway, Ergonia Office".
We would recognize the "Ergonia Office" as being in turn controlled by The Trans-Keltian Railway's Central Office, which we assume may or may not be located in Uantir, where the main station was located on Rook's earliest plan.
UPDATE:
I just submitted a claim to the MCS to annex a narrow strip of land heading towards Hamlandic Haifa so that the Middle Route can be completed in this manner. If Hamland could link Haifa to itself and then Ergonia builds a tunnel to Uantir, then the Middle-continental route, at least, would have full linkage.

Re: Resurrection of the Trans-Keltian Railway
I the idea of keeping the central office in Uantir appeals to me.
Creating regional offices to handle the railway easements and affairs is also Uantiri, as we strive to keep everything as local as possible and rejet centralization.

Re: Resurrection of the Trans-Keltian Railway
Well, Uantir has lost its claim on the MCS map due to inactivity.
This means that the "Great Central Station" envisioned in Uantir
is, well, not feasible at this time. I suggest we not worry about
the main station for the time being and focus on regional develop-
ment: Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest.
Hamland is large enough to dominate Northwest.
or Northwest. Ergonia, Mercury, and the Brettish can build the
East (with help from Juclandia and Pontus if they are willing).
Alexandria looks as if it were positioned to lead efforts
in the Southwest/South, Pontus in Southeast. Not all these nations
may be willing to participate, and in that case we would just
route around them. I have urged Hamland to expand its territory
further into the central section of the continent.
