Hello everyone, just wanted to make a general announcement that it is now official - the Commonwealth of Hamland is now the Kingdom of the Union of Caputia.

After enduring a devastating and decimating civil war that unleashed famine, disease, and pestilence upon the populace, a new nation rises to forge a new destiny under the reign of the much beloved Queen Elizabeth I. With much of the nation in ruins, the Queen has assembled her nascent Government in the city of Zalae, the new capital. There's a Constitutional Convention meeting in Zalae to write Caputia's new Constitution. The first draft has been presented, check it out here.

Caputia is now accepting new citizens. You're welcome to apply for citizenship here. It's a pretty short and simple application, not the grander biographies that people are used to with me (i.e. Alexandria). Of course, if your plans are to become deeply involved, the level of detail for your character's biography is 100% up to you.

My memory is quite hazy, but I do remember those two names! I wonder what Kuralyov is up to nowadays.

Kuralyov, now there was a fun fellow to plot with. He's probably a different person entirely these days - aren't we all?

Once again, I marvel at the ancient persistence of the Skerries and its Captive Sea in the affairs of Micras. Lighthouse was old when I started in this sector, and I try not to remind myself how long ago that was.

Indeed - I vaguely remember Lighthouse being around when I started 15 years ago... yikes. My memory of the time is very hazy. Naming Hamland Caputia was more of a nod to the history of the area, as nations who need to be "refounded" tend to do when they rename or rebrand themselves.

Will Caputia essentially be the "re-invented and re-invigorated" Alexandria you referred to in the closure notice?
