Re: [New forum] Website
The intro prolly won't be too long, so scrolling shouldn't really be an issue...
Shall I take that close button out the code I copied?
I made all the banners on my copy links, it's easy enough
an I've added that chunk to #footer

Ok and go ahead. You should also search for the javascript, I think it's just below the <body> tag.
EDIT: Also for those still checking the site Spangle previously linked to the newer version is here; http://dr-spangle.com/tests/-Hub/Cairney/3/index.php

Re: [New forum] Website
I'd say let's go ahead with the design. We can always improve upon it later if there's public input that seems sensible enough to implement a change.
As for content, I plan on writing some stuff after I finish up a 10-hour work shift tomorrow.

Re: [New forum] Website
I proposed two ideas to Spangle which he said he'll code tonight.
The first one is an image uploader and the second is a url shortner.
Any suggestions?

Re: [New forum] Website
A reminder: If you create a URL shortener, you will be responsible for every single reference on it. Forever. By comparison you're only responsible for a human being for 18 years or so. Are you sure you want to bring a new URL shortener into the world?

Wow, I didn't know it's so harsh in the American law?
But, would it also apply if we made a "You're entering user-created content. Out there, beasts lay and monsters live. We can't take responsibility for every change made on the following website!" page with a button redirecting user to the actual shortened url and a ruleset including "Users take responsibility for content they create, upload and share. Site Administration will remove any content abusing this [Charter / Ruleset / whatever] and/or U.S. Law as soon as they encounter any violations" clause?

Re: [New forum] Website
We'll put something like that I imagine...
Also, it can be another job for the moderators
A simple page they can check see if there are any unmoderated links or images listed, if so they check them and say if they're ok could even make it so it used their phpBB login and cookie probably, so they can just load up a page and it says
If I worked hard, I could try and integrate that link with the forum so they see a button to check, maybe even so the button only shows when there are unmoderated images/links to moderate...
More likely of course is that it's a simple black on white php page and it checked their forum cookie to make sure they're a mod

Image uploader complete.
Well, Cairney has to make it shiney
I dunno if the comments section is needed at all...
There's also a moderation panel here:
