[New forum] Getting this done
I think it'd be rather neat if we could have this all ready to go by 8th January, Emperor Norton Day. If we can get all the discussion wrapped up by 1st January then that gives us a week to make the changes, which should be plenty of time.

Yeah I'm getting the feeling that next to none of this is actually coded.

Re: [New forum] Getting this done
One of the problems is that Cairney is offline or appear offline so much of the time, and changes a lot of stuff without telling me, so the about page here:
http://cairney.webs.com/hub/about.html
That worked a while ago, doesn't work now.
So I have no clue what's happening with it.

Re: [New forum] Getting this done
Change the div id from content to intro. Then in the CSS add #252525 to the background.

Re: [New forum] Getting this done
Indeed...
For a basic system:
1)Move the forum to hub.mn/forum
2)Set up forwarding to forward micras.org/forum (and all threads) flawlessly to hub.mn/forum
3)Reorganise boards on forum
4)Install a new skin
5)Set skin as default for most users
6)Enable the website at hub.mn
7)Set some adsense adverts for hub.mn, no need to make some separate google adsense account, I'll donate the money in my adsense account so far to this hub (Which of course has cost me hosting and domain costs anyway, but heck, what's a couple hundred pounds between friends )
Set up who are administrators and who are moderators, I still don't know how we do this? some nominations threads followed by some votes threads seem a simple option.
9)put the admin and moderator information on the about page
For a working system:
1)Make some text for the about page, describing what this hub is about, what it is for, and where it came from
2)Make some text for the micronationalism page, follow that text with a frequently asked questions section.
3)Hosting and hosted sites section, we'll have to figure out how that will work, 1000 mysql tables is not a lot at all it seems, it doesn't take long to eat through them, although I can clear quite a bit, I can't clear it all...
4)Link needs to be added for the image uploder
5)URL shortener needs to be created, along with a link somewhere to that
That would be the list I would say

Re: [New forum] Getting this done
I assume 1 & 2 can be done relatively easily, so the stumbling block is the new skin I guess? 3 should only really happen as we introduce the new skin. 6 & 7 can go ahead now, can't they?
Re: [New forum] Getting this done
I don't see any point to waiting for a new skin to reorganize the forums. We've already finalized several of these areas. Let's get things moving!
I think the best way to approach the skin issue would be to add a new "working" skin and then work on it until finished. Make it known people can switch skins and test/try it to get an idea of how people will react; what they like/dislike, how we can improve it, etc. Then when we feel it is adequately finished, we can toggle the working skin over to the default skin.

Good plan, Ryan.

The new skin, SEO, is now available in the control panel. It should be set as the default soon.

One thing with the skin; links don't stand-out as they're the same colour as the rest of the text
