I cannot seem to log in to MicrasWiki any longer. Despite updating my password on the forum here, it's not letting me log onto the wiki. Any ideas?

As far as I'm aware, nothing's been changed with the wiki of late. I'm not sure how closely connected the forum and wiki are, either, so it may be that an updated password on here doesn't affect your log-in details over there. I guess an updated password could also bugger-up cookies and not let you on as well. If fixing any of that doesn't work, I'll see what I can do with administrating your wiki account - I don't think I've ever had to do that before, so I will hopefully have the right powers to do so!

A person's MicrasWiki account is synonymous with their forum account. So, for example, if you go to register a MicrasWiki account, it links you directly to the forum registration.

The only thing I can think of is that we changed my forum username from the one I used to use to make edits on MicrasWiki; my old username still shows up in the history of wiki pages.

There are both accounts on the wiki under the names of "Ryan" and "Orion", with the latter's most recent edits earlier this year (the former's last ones are from 2011). Looking at my options, I can merge users, delete them, rename them, but I can't see an option to be able to change another user's password, so what do you think would be the best approach?

I dunno. Merging the "Ryan" account with the "Orion" one would be a good start (into Orion).

I tried logging on to the wiki using "Orion" as the username and my normal password here and it's not working. The 'Forgot password" thing only redirects me back to this forum. I suppose I could just create a new user and try that.

Very weird. I've also had my username changed recently and tried logging in with my "new" credentials and it worked fine.

If the "change password" option redirects you here, then it may be that you have to update your password here for it to affect the wiki so that both are the same again. I'll merge the two wiki users anyway, but perhaps try that

Tried it, still not working. Thinking I'm going to have to set up a special account just for making wiki edits.

How very strange. I've tried to merge the users and it comes back to me with a blank page, so I'm not sure what's gone-on.

I'm wondering what could've affected it in the first place mainly, because we've changed people's usernames before with no troubles. Can you remember if you created the Orion wiki account before we updated your forum account name to that? I'm thinking that if that's what happened, it could've caused a clash and stopped it from linking/working...

I think I may have, but am not certain. IIRC, I was using the name Orion originally for Universalis, but then kept it for Apollantis and later my common pseudonym.

I think that may make the most sense as to why there's now problems with things. I'm really not sure how I'd be able to approach it to fix things, so I'd say, unfortunately, the best way to go about it is to just create a completely new account on the wiki

Anyone knows what plugin is used for the linking? With Ari, I might be able to help...
