Just so you're more aware, our community is very much primarily simulation-based, so these kind of updates might be met with more negativity than positive responses. Especially when it comes to claiming you've got a stronger currency than the US$, and effectively asking people for money
Re: Republic of Stars currency now backed by real silver
I'm more than willing to convert a few thousand SCUE money to real silver. If I'm not mistaken you would pay me $7150 for 5000 erb?
Re: Republic of Stars currency now backed by real silver
How? There is no official exchange rate between the Erb/SCUE unit and macronational currencies or commodities.

The fact that the Republic of Stars is pay-to-play and has no publicly accessible forum raises the largest red flags I could find.

It seems to be run by 16-year-olds who apparently don't know any better. Why anyone would want to pay to join it is a complete mystery to me though.

Not every nation has, or has to have, a forum, so that isn't a problem. As Malliki basically said, they're just newcomers who aren't familiar with how things work and what's considered taboo...Carl wrote:The fact that the Republic of Stars is pay-to-play and has no publicly accessible forum raises the largest red flags I could find.

We never said that you had to pay to join. I don't know were you have gotten that idea from but please tell me so I know.

Re: Republic of Stars currency now backed by real silver
It said on your website that all citizens have to pay, but that seems to have been removed now.
Re: Republic of Stars currency now backed by real silver
If this is going to be a big hassle then I as president will take us of the silver standard but what am I suppose to back my currency with then?
Re: Republic of Stars currency now backed by real silver
Dude, no one is ever going to exchange silver or dollars for your made-up currency, so it doesn't matter. Most currencies are fiat money anyway.
Re: Republic of Stars currency now backed by real silver
Okay I wonder If I can back it with virtual goods because I don't like fiat currencies I just don't.
Re: Republic of Stars currency now backed by real silver
This is a simulation. Back it with blowjobs and puppies if you like.

The currency issue is usually the least important; you're not going to be exchanging goods with anyone soon, unless they're purely virtual, in which case you might be interested in SCUE (and/or just paying with hard bitcoin if you think you can afford that).
