Amokolian War spoils
Hi,
I've just been looking over the recent MCS map and have just noticed that Monovia (or what's left of it) remains Ocian.
From what I can see, legally that land should belong to the victorious parties of the Amokolian War.
In this post, Matt Kovac states that he 'puts all colonies/dependencies up for grabs' (ignore the preceding ill-educated drivel about Fascism).
As an overseas territory and former Kingdom annexed by Ocia, Monovia can therefore be defined as a 'dependency/colony'.
What, therefore, is the legality of the Monoviaville enclave remaining under Ocian control?
Regards,
Max

Surely the act of merely putting it up for grabs in a recwar if you lose doesn't mean you automatically lose the land. Since nobody bothered to claim it at the time, I'd say they should just keep it.

It really is no surprise that the stingy miser Ashkenatzis would approach the MCS almost a year later about obtaining a territory which was indeed up for grabs during the war but was not militarily won. A territory must be militarily won for it to be taken over. Undoubtedly, it must be agonizing for them to now realize that the free and loyal outpost of Monovia could have easily been won if one of them had put on their reading glasses when taking a look at the MCS map.
So to sum up the facts:
-Monovia was not one of the territories included in the provisions of the “forced peace treaty” not signed by Ocia. This so called “treaty” does not have the words “All of Ocias foreign lands are to be ceded to the following parties….”
-No invading force ever tried to take over the land
-The land was not militarily won and that is the only way to take over a territory in a recwar
There is simply no case here and it would be absolutely ludicrous for the MCS to for a second consider the legitimacy of such a claim.
Since this land is so far away from us though perhaps we should give it to those pretentious neo-cons over in Alexandria as a gift for being so friendly.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'd only just noticed it and was a little confused as to why it was still there. Ocian it remains, I guess.
Stingy misers, Matt? Don't think so...
