Just noticed I'm not on the staff mod group for the AF; mind adding me as well?

Re: Cycling the staff
Don't worry about double posting, it's not really an issue anymore, I keep that gif in my signature because I think it looks cool... maybe I'll change it...Einhorn wrote:Damn me for double posting but I'd like to get voting started on these amendments, how can we do this? We should also probably take care of replacing Benkern and delivering the ultimatum to Chris.
Anyways!
I have posted both amendments into administrative discussion for voting. I have voted, but you will need a minimum2 more council members to vote on them
Re: Cycling the staff
You could probably edit it so the guy still runs over but it's for a different offense. Like, I don't know, saying silly hats are stupid or something. That'd be worth a facekick.dr-spangle wrote:Don't worry about double posting, it's not really an issue anymore, I keep that gif in my signature because I think it looks cool... maybe I'll change it...

That is really good news. We're half way through getting the status quo changed for the better!

Re: Cycling the staff
It's been changed many many times for the better ever since August 15th 2006.
I won't glare at ryan for that, but if it helps you to understand the point, imagine I am doing so...

Re: Cycling the staff
Well changes will always happen, but at what pace, when and how are always semi-unpredictable. This time we've just taken the bull by the horns before the MCS falls over and dies.

Re: Cycling the staff
Every single time, that is what happened.
Literally, every single time "MCS is about to die" major changes made.
I'm quite happy for changes to happen all the time, but no one else takes notice...
Right now I'm talking with Hesam on IRC who believes changes never happen in MCS and that he is always trying to make them...

Re: Cycling the staff
Well change is what keeps things going and people interested. Before, it was somewhat hard to change the status quo due to voting requirements. Now, I think we've made it easier for change to be brought about by the people who need change the most - the MCS members.

Re: Cycling the staff
Change was always possible, look at this very thread, change was done easily
People like to believe change is hard, it allows them to do nothing and believe it's not their fault.

Re: Cycling the staff
I think most people are too afraid of those that go around billowing about how things are is they way they should be, for better or worse. Or the administration/council shooting them down saying the same thing. The latter is usually never the case, unless it is just some ridiculous sweeping change. But the former can be a bit common on the MCS boards. This was very common during Pete's tenure, which is what I think started or at least greatly contributed to this problem/attitude. In a way, we're actually implementing De-Stalinization and Perestroika.
