Reserving Land
Is it possible to reserve land for future claims?

Re: Reserving Land
By 'reserving' you mean preventing anyone else from claiming that land in the future but Oscland? Sounds essentially like making a claim without using the nation's color. You might as well just make a proper claim if you want the land, because reserving land, as you put it, would cause too much confusion when other nations make a claim or expand. The MCS would have to enforce your claimed-but-not-claimed land and at some point it would just be in the best interests of everyone if you just claim the land you want and be done with it.

Re: Reserving Land
Yeh, true dat.
The thing is, Oscland's claim has been accepted in a previously relatively empty space, and all of a sudden room for future expansion is suddenly being swallowed up - obviously I can't prevent this but you must understand it's a tad annoying, especially after modifying my claim to allow two other nations room for expansion.

That is definitely between a rock and a hard place. I can honestly say that you should've held your ground because what you've done was reserve land for them. We must all face the possibility that future expansions are not in the deck.
If I'm correct, your claim is as above minus the island and the small portion across the river. Uantir's expansion was approved so not much you can do about that. You have breathing room up to the point of meeting Uantir's northern border. You also have the option, despite the fact that it may make you look like a dick to Mercury, to claim up to Mercury's western border if they do not expand to that point within a reasonable amount of time. In short, they're just as entitled to that land as you are: not entitled to it what so ever. Which can justify you expanding in that direction if you're willing to deal with the backlash. If they don't use that land in the next 6-8 weeks and you have activity to justify it then you're making better use of that land than they are and that is the simple truth of the matter!

Re: Reserving Land
I’ve heard of no instance of land being reserved for future expansions and I would oppose the policy being started now. Like Einhorn said, that sounds a lot like making a claim – either make the now claim, or don’t. The ONLY instance unclaimed land is tied up is if a nation has recented collapsed - they're given a grace period (1 month, I believe?) to pull it together and be able to reclaim their previous territory.

Re: Reserving Land
There's no southern room for expansion, Sirocco have claimed that now.
Teaches me to have manners I suppose. I'm just hoping there's no claims west over the river.

Re: Reserving Land
Regardless of Sirocco Uantir has no aspirations of moving north. If we ever get active enough to expand more we'll fill in the green gap below us.
