Appropriate size of Jingdao
This is mostly directed towards the council but other interested parties may also reply. I wonder what other people perceive to be the largest appropriate size of Jingdao? We have a discussion about expansions in Jingdao and I feel we should not ask too much from the MCS, that with our recent expansions in Cibola and Nelaga we should wait a few months before we should claim again, but on the other hand if it would be the general opinion that we could claim even more, there are some rather nice pieces of land free... I would like to receive some feedback on this from the MCS.

Well, if we look at it in a solely activity-related way, the most recent post counts put you as being more active than Babkha, Elwynn and Alexandria, who all (as far as my eyes can perceive) have more land than you. So, going by that, I'd personally say you're definitely active enough to merit more land.
However, how much and how soon is really the case in point. If you maintain your current activity levels, then claiming the old Nelaga islands (completely for example) wouldn't be beyond you at all. But if you were to claim them all in one go off the back of this month's activity alone, then you'd probably not get too far.
Don't forget, just because you could expand, doesn't mean you necessarily have to! Look at Réunion and Austbard, for example. Both miniscule but with activity levels which put them well up the leaderboard. Flanders are another example; smaller than Craitland but over 21 times as active this month

I am not sure about Austbard and Reunion but Flanders is hardly concerned with its map. They claim land on Micras because that might get them diplomatic relations, there is very strong opposition in Flanders to actually do anything with the land. In fact they viciously ridicule us for writing stories at all, they call that "Jonasian stories" after Mr. Windsor... President Erwin V.H. is an exception to that rule.
But I think your main point was that we should do it slowly and have activity to show for it.

They were concerned about it to want it back after being removed last year thoughErasmus wrote:I am not sure about Austbard and Reunion but Flanders is hardly concerned with its map.
Effectively, yes!But I think your main point was that we should do it slowly and have activity to show for it.

I've said elsewhere that I really don't think we as a society and community gain anything by having these nations on the map, but I guess with Réunion and others, their claim is so tiny that it doesn't make much of a difference. And central Apollonia, where Flanders has a claim, is a curséd valley of death.Erasmus wrote:I am not sure about Austbard and Reunion but Flanders is hardly concerned with its map.
