Re: Allowing citizens on the Council to vote
Okay, we might as well vote on it here as this was sorta the original thread that started the discussions. Council members, please vote aye if you are in favour of this, or nay if you are not. This is effectively the notice I can imagine being stickied in Claims:
Hope the wording's okay. Let me know if there's anything to change! As a means of reducing voting periods on modifications by member nations of the MCS, the Council members do hereby announce that any "basic" modifications will be automatically accepted. Such "basic" modifications are those which do not modify the external borders of the claiming nation, and only include the modification of land already held by that nation. Modifications regarding the name and flag of the nation as appears on the claimsmap's legend will also be considered "basic" as well.
The Council members reserve the right, however, to revoke their automated aye vote should they disagree with the content of the modification; such as offensive material or modifications which may potentially breach MCS rules.. "Basic" modifications must be submitted for a minimum of two days prior to the next planned claimsmap update (every Sunday) to allow for any disputes with the claims to be voiced. Any "basic" modifications submitted after a given Friday will not be applicable to be added to the next update that weekend.
Re: Allowing citizens on the Council to vote
This amendment would just clarify that it's not all about "Craplakistan" but also things like cities in the ocean. The Council members reserve the right, however, to revoke their automated aye vote should they disagree with the content of the modification; such as offensive material or modifications which may potentially breach MCS rules.

Re: Allowing citizens on the Council to vote
Added. Although adding a city in the ocean would be modifying something outside of the nation's land claims anyway

Re: Allowing citizens on the Council to vote
Okay, well the majority of the Council seem to support it, so I'd say that's a pass. Not even sure if a vote was actually necessary anyway! There was no complaint from Ric and I'm sure Chrim would support anything which means he doesn't have to visit as often - and even if only three have agreed, that's a majority towards future "basic" modifications anyway. I'll post this in Notices now then
