Re: Oil Rigs and such
I'd like to think that Barnaby is saying that Joe successfully claiming the Franklin Islands was due to his position as a more experienced micronationalist (akin to how we used to have a different waiting period for new/experienced people's nations), rather than being a newcomer - think about how many claims we've had in the past where people have tried to add a new island due to a lack of knowing what they're doing. Though I would certainly like some clarification as it certainly isn't understandable to give Council members preferential treatment (I don't see the Franklins on the map anymore, for instance)...

Pretty much. Although my choice of wording certainly wasn't the best in hindsight and certainly wasn't meant to imply anything shady going on about either Joe or the council.Craitman wrote: ↑Sat Mar 03, 2018 1:05 pmI'd like to think that Barnaby is saying that Joe successfully claiming the Franklin Islands was due to his position as a more experienced micronationalist (akin to how we used to have a different waiting period for new/experienced people's nations), rather than being a newcomer - think about how many claims we've had in the past where people have tried to add a new island due to a lack of knowing what they're doing.
However I'm unenthusiastic about claims of non-mapped lands and if I had been on the council when the Franklin Islands vote occurred I would have likely opposed it. That said, the fact that there is development going into it does somewhat soften my position in both cases, but either way I remain uneasy about adding the Oil Rig onto the map.

I mean, you did "nay" its attempted return claim, so that definitely holds-up
