Anunia points for Ekranoplans?
Anunia points for Ekranoplans?
I seriously doubt if there are any - nonetheless, could an Anunia judge give me a points quote for an Ekranoplan (See also, GEV craft, flarecraft, sea skimmer, screen craft) with the ability to launch cruise missiles and torpedoes?
Re: Anunia points for Ekranoplans?
Yeah, Ashkenatza has a significant naval contingent of Ekranoplans and I would have thought that seeing as they're a viable macronational technology there'd be no problem?
Since Ekranoplans are such a unique concept, however, there's not much in the way of a vehicle with equal or lesser capabilities on the Anunia Convention points list. If an Attack Helicopter is 75 and a Eurofighter is 500 I'd price an Ekranoplan at around 200-300.

...That said, with some modifications, many Ekranoplans (apparently) can be made to go over steppe, ice, desert and scrub. They're certainly quite a powerful piece of kit - I think the US army are thinking of designing one.

Ekranoplans are naval in nature aren't they?
I think they should be more expensive than a minesweeper considering their ability to launch cruise missiles, high speeds etc.
Perhaps 750 would be a fair figure.

Re: Anunia points for Ekranoplans?
Sounds about right. As long as they're not the size of the Caspian Sea Monster Ekranoplan- that'd just be prohibitively expensive.
So what's the accepted system for amending the Anunia Convention, even just for adding a new points estimate such as this one?
Would we even need to amend it, or would nations with Ekranoplans just agree on points costing with the judge before a RecWar?

It'll form part of the Common Law. The Charter's points scale is just a measurement so everyone knows the basic unit values and can work from there. Ekranoplans, as i'm sure you know, are a little bit left field in terms of basic units!

How about military observation blimps? Ashkenatza uses those too.
Re: Anunia points for Ekranoplans?
Wont they just count as support vehicles? As they dont accaulty do anything fighting as such.

^ Yeah, unarmed radar, AWACs, early warning, signals and recon stuff don't cost anything.
