Re: 2020 tournament warm-up friendlies
*Played 28th June*
Krasnarus 1-1 Craitland
17' - M. Durmel (pen.)
43' - J.M. Juliaĵsen
Krasnarus made sure Craitland's mini-tour of Krasnocoria ended with little joy as they secured a draw in the visitors' milestone 250th ever match. Merku Durmel's penalty after the quarter-hour gave last year's World Cup quarter-finalists the lead after a foul on Radmanović, but a Jan-Morteņ Juliaĵsen rocket strike right before the break evened the score. As they've displayed all year through a successful Copa Apollonia qualifying campaign, the Krasnarusyn defence remained resolute through the second half, while their forwards were unable to break down the Craits' own back line, leading to a stalemate that closed the match with the spoils shared.
Craitland now have a few weeks' wait before their final warm-up friendly in Sanama, with much to work on after a dip in results, while Krasnarus will soon be travelling to Lamantia hoping to at least reach the knock-out rounds of a tournament for a second successive year.

Srbozemska 0-1 Lostisland
55' D. Takilov
Lostisland snatched a friendly win over Srbozemska thanks to a second half strike from Dmitry Takilov. Srbozemska had threatened in the first half but Lostisland posted yet another solid defensive display and were perhaps unlucky not to come away with more goals.

Senya 3-1 Natopia
12' Cedric Alexander (pen.)
39' Alesandrœ Danetskë
76' Barnaby Hands
78' Markœ Minyorletsken
Senya wrapped up a victory in their final pre-Copa Apollonia friendly against Natopia but were made to sweat by the Tapfer side. After a quiet opening ten minutes, Maksim Ĵerzënyœ knocked over Ilyas Chowdhury in the penalty area, with Dyas Scitenhima Ĵets's Cedric Alexander converting the penalty in emphatic style, leathering the ball into the top-left corner, leaving Sileman Bɏankarlënœ with no chance to save it. Natopia were playing a good game in the midfield, starving the Senyans of the ball, and perhaps could've had another, had Nat Gordonsfield kept his effort from the edge of the box under the bar. Senya were able to rescue and equaliser before half time, with Natopia failing to clear a corner and allowing Alesandrœ Danetskë the space to turn in the box and fire the Senyans onto level terms.
Although the Natopians had been the better side in the first half, the Senyans came out much better in the second period, but couldn't quite find the killer instinct to put themselves infront. That was until 15 minutes to go, when Barnaby Hands cut inside and hit a powerful effort from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner. And within a minute of the re-start, Senya doubled their lead in a similar fashion, this time Markœ Minyorletsken's effort finding the top-right. Despite the two goals, Natopia will be proud of their overall performance, if a little unlucky not to get a draw from the match, but both teams will go into their respective confederational tournaments with a real sense that they can win the title.

Lamantia 1-0 Tiana
14' Sven Ebersbacher
Lamantia beat Tiana 1-0 in their final Copa Apollonia warm-up game in Colgrad. Sven Ebersbacher's goal, a shot from close range into the bottom-right was enough to seal Lamantia the victory as they tested out some reserve players ahead of the tournament.

Florian Republic 3-0 New Sussex
25' Kian Wright
71' Ben Cunningham
86' Ronald Vega
The Florian Republic wrapped up a final pre-Copa Apollonia friendly with a convincing 3-0 victory over EMU debutants New Sussex. Kian Wright broke the deadlock after heading home from a wide free-kick, before Ben Cunningham doubled his side's advantage in the second half after firing low from just inside the box after the ball broke to him. Substitute Ronald Vega rounded off the scoring late on with a header from a corner in what was a highly impressive result from the hosts.

*Played 4th July*
Alduria 1-1 Mercury
45' - D. Hannerby
66' - Á. Carrasco
EMU 2020 favourites Mercury came away from their trip to northern Eura with neither victory nor defeat following a close draw against many's outside bet for Copa Apollonia success of Alduria. Many players for the hosts featured for Caputia two years ago in the EMU 2018 final that Mercury ultimately won, so while the fixture may be new, the rivalry is already there.
Despite the plethora of attacking talent on the pitch, the first half lacked goals right up until its very last minute, and even that came from an unexpected source. Mercury right-back Daniel Hannerby found himself with the space to run forward as part of a counter-attack and a speculative shot looked too near the 'keeper, but a weak palm on the ball failed to direct it wide of the post and the score came via a ping off the far post. Alduria were the stronger of the two after the break, with some impressive substitution options available to them, and the equaliser inevitably came midway through the half. Strong wing play from Javier de la Fuente forged space for a cut inside and a lobbed cross into Álexis Carrasco fell perfectly for the Mercury-based striker to sidefoot volley home from close range.
With nothing changing in the final stages of the match, all ended level, and Alduria will be buoyed ahead of their Copa Apollonia opener against Jingdao next Saturday.

*Played 4th July*
Sanama 2-0 Talenore
64' - G. Totti
87' - G. Totti
Sanama made home advantage count as they overcame 2019 World Cup quarter-finalists Talenore with an impressive victory. Young, breakthrough striker Gjanluca Totti was the deciding factor of the match, adding the finishing touch to both goals in the second half. A partnership with Mariolino Sonetti looks to be in the works too, with the pacy forward grabbing two assists in this match too; both goals coming through similar circumstances of Sonetti's guile taking him beyond a Talenorean defender before finding a delivery for Totti to finish. The opener's strong right-footer was contrasted by the second's deft header, however, as Totti's range in finding the net was displayed.
A notable win for Sanama, whose odds on winning the Benacia Cup may soon be shortened, while Talenore may rue this blip in form as they hope to better their performance from EMU 2018 and surpass the semis this summer.

*Played 22nd July*
Sanama 1-2 Craitland
13' - W. Zóma
65' - K. Shuma
79' - J. Tórsen
Craitland's final Benacia Cup warm-up match came as part of their travels to Batavia, with a stop-over in Sanama to face one of the dark horses for the title this summer. After two underwhelming results as part of a mini-tour of Krasnocoria, the Craits wanted to get back on track, while Sanama had already recorded two very impressive wins earlier this summer over Talenore and Senya. Craitland put out arguably their strongest line-up and reaped the benefits early in the first half as Will Zóma finished off a pacy attack after a squared ball from Alexis into the area, but were kept quiet for the remainder of the first half as Sanama proved their worth. The second 45 remained closely-matched and the home side drew level midway through; the tricky Mariolino Sonetti broke through before being tackled well, but the ball made its way to Koke Shuma, who found the smallest gap between the defenders to strike home into the top-left of the net from the edge of the box. Sanama played some attractive football but were unable to score again, though Craitish substitute striker Jan Tórsen was able to poke home a winner for the visitors with ten to go. Replacing scorer Will Zóma, the forward was on hand to convert an Ilt Valmer pass first time after beating the offside trap and being left with just Hammonds ahead of him in goal; his rolled finish may well have earned him a place in the Craits' final twenty-man squad.
That's it for Craitland's preparations and those lucky enough to make the tournament roster travel to Batavia in a few days, while the Sanamans have one last test ahead of the finals with a trip over to Keltian heavyweights Mercury to help them acclimatise to the travelling planned over the next month.
