Champions' League re-organisation

Over the last couple of seasons, it has become apparent for the FMF to re-think the way in which it runs its club competitions. Interest remains low in the various Champions' Leagues and their related Cup competitions, with these tournaments often being dominated by clubs from one or two nations, which leaves the competitive level of these competitions low and leaves these tournaments often un-interesting until the final. Furthermore, the current regionalisation prevents the meetings of Micras' biggest club sides, unless the qualify for the awkwardly scheduled FMF Champions' League, which eats into the domestic match schedule.

As a result, the FMF has decided to re-organise the way in which international club football competitions on Micras are organised, with the changes coming into place ahead of the 2021-22 season.

Firstly, the FMF Champions' League will be re-organised, and will now contain 32 teams instead of 8, running over the same matchdays as the confederational Champions' League tournaments. With matchdays on Tuesdays, it will contain the 2 best domestic sides from 10 nations, which will be ranked by a new FMF coefficient, based on the previous rankings of the confederational Champions' Leagues, but weighted, with a further 8 nations submitting their domestic champions. Four spaces will be reserved for the Champions of each of the confederational Champions' Leagues, but if these teams qualify for the FMF CL automatically, spaces will be granted instead to the next four best ranked national leagues.

On the confederational level, the AEFA/CTFA/EMUFA/WMFA Champions' Leagues will all continue, albeit with lower ranked sides and cup winners from the FMF CL leagues and sides from national leagues that don't qualify for FMF CL places, ensuring a much more level playing field and providing a chance for new leagues and smaller leagues to develop and gain entry into the FMF CL.

The various Cup competitions though will be discontinued as a result.

We look forward to entering this exciting new chapter in the FMF's history, and look forward to a new and exciting club competition format for 2021-22 onwards!

Why not make it just 9 permanent teams from Senya, Craitland and Floria? That would make it a much more stable investment and money from television rights would not have to be shared with lesser clubs that no one wants to watch!
