Re: 2021-22 Champions' League(s)
Cherry Trees and Jogasim Revolution stepped out onto the field in Hazar searching to claim the biggest title in club football. And it was the Craitish start who started the brighter, with Joe Foxon firing narrowly wide within the first 30 seconds, before Lydveldt Jonmikeltsen headed over the bar from Marko Zajc's drilled cross. JR might have narrowly won the Senyan League, but they looked disorganised early on, as Vladimër Ƨöčer picked up a cheap yellow card for fouling Aprem Neil on the edge of the box after being caught ball watching, but Zajc couldn't fire the resulting free-kick on target. But Cherry Trees were to be rewarded for their fast start. Neil played a sharp through ball into Zajc who burst into the box, and whist his cross was flicked away by Florian Kluge, it fell right into the path of Joe Foxon, who slotted the ball across into the bottom left corner from just behind the penalty spot to give his side the advantage. JR rallied after the goal, and finally pulled off their first attempt of the game with Garë Mendë firing a dipping effort from range, which swerved in the air and forced a spectacular save from the keeper, but from the resulting corner Aidan Keĵinz could only head the ball straight into the keeper's gloves. And despit the rally, JR found themselves two goals down when a slip from Jan Maytek presented the ball to Zajc, who ran from midway inside his own half with the ball, feigning to go one way and then the other has he made a mazy run right through the heart of the JR defence, before playing a one-two with Foxon to get into the penalty area, before a dummy shot sat JR stopper Jamie Vallensen on the ground, allowing Zajc to tap into an empty net and celebrate scoring an absolutely incredible solo goal. And with JR still reeling from that, Cherry Trees were looking to wrap up the game. Foxon hit the post with a header before a dipping effort from İlker Keremov required Aleks Mëa to volley off the goal line, to ensure JR still had a half chance going into the second half.Spoiler!
In the second period, JR looked to get the kick up the bottom they needed, with Ronald Vega being brought on as they moved to a 3-4-3 formation. And it looked to work for JR as they started strongly, with Alesandrœ Danetskë breaking through the Cherry Trees back line, only to poke his effort the wrong side of the post as he went in 1-on-1 with the keeper. Pasquale di Montezemolo was being kept busy by the front three, and picked up a cheap yellow card 10 minutes into the half as he fouled Isaac Mahler, before squaring up with Ronald Vega, who also went into the referee's notebook. However, Mendë could only skim the top of the crossbar with the resulting free-kick. The Senyan side did look dangerous though, and with the second half nearing its midway point, were awarded a penalty as Jan Maytek's ball into the box was blocked by the arm of Roland Théard, with the referee making no hesitation to point to the spot. However, Danetskë's spot kick was blasted against the crossbar before bouncing out, with the striker uncharacteristically squandering a golden chance to get his team back into the game. The number nine would get his redemption though minutes later, with substitute Bāiram Præla-Fadazareh finding him with his back turned in the box, before a one-two with Maytek allowed him to turn his man and prod the ball into the near post beyond the keeper to put his side back into the game. The Senyans continued to pile on the pressure, with Vega passing up two great chances to find a winner, first heading narrowly wide from a Maytek cross, before an air kick squandered yet another great chance in front of goal. Cherry Trees were able to hold on though, and after running down the clock in the final minutes, were able to be crowned champions of Micras for the second time in their history.
Re: 2021-22 Champions' League(s)
WMFA Champions' League final
Hänävissen-ó-Cräiteland and Sverige Tiem may have endured mediocre league campaigns this term, but both were looking to make amends by winning a piece of international silverware, and by extension, a spot in next season's FMF Champions League, in the SanOil Arena in Niyi. Whilst Sverige Tiem had enjoyed the spoils of the two sides encounters in the league, having beaten HóC thrice and drawing the other tie this term, they had finished behind the Central Craitish outfit in the league by two points.Spoiler!
Never-the-less, form was out of the window for this cup final, and despite the league form going into this match, it was HóC who were to strike first, with Jonathan Smalling allowed way too much time on the ball to pick out Jeroen van Veen, who used his strength to hold up the ball on the edge of the 'D', before sliding a ball into the path of Zen Daviddlaw, who ran in towards the near post, before sliding the ball back across the face of goal for Avraham Vintarglimion to tap into an empty net ahead of Läns Däl to put his side into the driver's seat. Yet despite the fast start from their opponents, Sverige Tiem were to take control of the tie. With the more star players on show, including Craitish internationals Daniel Hjansen and Läns Däl, Senyan winger Ƨinkœ Zvet, Passas legend Danijel Đorđević and a strike force made up of Floria's Cristiano Ramirez and Sanama's Mariolino Sonetti, Sverige Tiem, whose on field talent had perhaps not always came together the way many would've expected in the league this season, were able to take charge of the game. With some neat midfield play, Zvet was often set to run down the flank, with his pace often having the beating of Menkara Iňanojk, but his crosses into the box were well defended by the HóC back line. Sonetti did hit the post with a header from a corner midway through the first half, but for the most part, HóC's defence was able to stoically hold on through until half time.
In the second half though, Tiem managed to go up a gear. Sonetti hit the upright for the second time after good work from Đorđević played him in, before Ramirez stung a shot from the edge of the box that required a sprawling save from Owen Jones. But Sverige would not be held off for ever, and with about twenty minutes left in the game, Zvet, again breaking down the left, delivered a pinpoint cross in for Ramirez to head home at the near post. Sverige now had the bit between their teeth, and almost took the lead just moments later, once again with Zvet running into the box, before squaring the ball across to Sonetti, who hit the post for third time of the day with a neat little shot towards the near post. And as the game went on, they continued to ramp up the pressure, with an advancing Daniel Hjansen almost the hero late on with a header the went just over the top of the bar from a corner kick routine. However, the referee's whistle came before any chance of a winner, forcing the game to extra time.
The first period of extra time finally showed some signs of tiredness from both sides, most exemplary of which was a late tackle by Iňanojk on Zvet as the Senyan made a run down the flank again, but the referee was perhaps lenient to only show the Hazar man a yellow card. And by the time the second half of extra time came to the fray, both sides were pretty much on their knees. None of the substitutes were able to provide much flare to the game, though Ramirez once again forces Jones into a sprawling save late on with a pot shot from outside the box, but the game would go to a shoot out.
HóC won the toss in the shoot-out and took first, with van Veen slamming his penalty into the bottom-left of the net, with the power of the shot putting it beyond the reach of the keeper, who had guessed correctly. Mariolino Sonetti then took, but smashed his effort straight against the crossbar, hitting the woodwork for an amazing fourth time this day. Subsitute Max Baärdsen then put HóC 2-0 up, before Ramirez finally put his side on the board. Avraham Vintarglimion curled his into the top right corner to make it 3-1, before Ƨinkœ Zvet smashed his into the same part of the goal. However, Jonathan Smalling's spot kick was saved by the keeper, before Danijel Đorđević made no mistake with his attempt, to level the score up. Substitute Simon Abdulayec however made nomistake with his spot kick, and neither did Jamie Mälent, as the shoot-out went to sudden death. However, it was Ætaňur Chanojk, who stuttered in his run up, who was to see his spot kick saved, before legendary Shireroth and former Toketi man, Ichigo Trask, in potentially his last season in professional football, smashed his penalty into the top left, to send the Sverige Tiem fans into raptures and secure his side's name on the trophy.
Re: 2021-22 Champions' League(s)
CTFA Champions' League final
Caerdragon Stadium was packed as Natopian side Butter Cow City Eucas took on Hazarese outfit Erciyes. Whilst Erciyes were able to call on the support of much of the local Calbain, it was the Natopians that took the lead, with Christophe von Bagelberry letting fly from distance, and seeing his spectacular effort bulge the top right corner of the net. However, no sooner had the Natopians taken the lead, they were back where they started, after some messy and lacklustre defending allowed Zlatan Bečirbegovič to pinch in and slot a tidy finish past the goalkeeper to tie up the scores. And then it was the Hazarese that took the lead, with Onur Kuşcu, who had been in a great goalscoring run this tournament, tucking home a neat finish following a lovely flowing passing move that allowed him to break the high line of his opponents.Spoiler!
The Natopians weren't going down without a fight, and just before the hour mark in the second period, they levelled, thanks to defender Dave Jeong, who rose high above everyone else to put his side back on level terms. But unfortunately for them, it was not to be their night, as late on Zlatan Bečirbegovič found himself once again in the right place at the right time, to stab a ricocheted shot home from close range to send the CTFA Champions' League title back to Hazar.
Re: 2021-22 Champions' League(s)
AEFA Champions' League final
Rain spewed down on the glorious night in Dragonmoor, as the side currently occupying third place in Super League Football, Northcliff City, took on the side that had finished third in the Senyan Top League, Urzi Magalatska. Despite the inclement weather, it was not enough to dampen the mood of either sets of supporters, with both sets of fans showing off impressive tifos and setting off plenty of flares ahead of what of would likely be another grudge match in the stands. With one end covered in sky blue and the other in white, the bright colours of the fans contrasted nicely with the weather and atmosphere that seemed to be more representative of the conflict that was to follow.Spoiler!
The Florian outfit started quicker out of the blocks, and they took just 21 seconds to register their first attempt of the game with Ainslee Trueman playing in Sheldon Hunt, but Hunt tried to stab the ball into the top right hand corner, only finding the side netting, rather than squaring the ball across to Dräsen Isrdlvarien, who had a much better angle on goal. However, Urzi were able to grow into the match and eventually the game became a bit of a midfield battle. With some stern tackles going in from both sides, the referee did well to remain on top of things. Jean-Pierre d'Oliviera had Urzi's first real chance of note on the half-hour mark, but his dipping effort from a free-kick from 25 yards crashed off the woodwork, before Deryebel Čagelhîmer's follow up header sailed over the crossbar.
With the rest of the first half not producing much in the way of quality, the second half began in much the same vain, with both sides seemingly cancelling each other out in the midfield. There were glimmers of hope for both teams, with Dräsen Isrdlvarien forcing Æden Rinforgetskarlos into a good save, before Frankäya Kischt's cross caused confusion as Patrick Marshall and Roald Jorgensen both seemingly left the ball for each other, but Lökas Vrandela guided his free header over, with the Senyan international sinking his head into his hands knowing that it was a glorious chance wasted. Towards the final few minutes, the referee finally pulled out his yellow card, firstly taking Oliver Murphy's name for mistimed lunge on Domonik Ƨarkœvič, before Harë Ëgermarč was shown a yellow for an altercation with Sheldon Hunt in the middle of the pitch. However, before things could get too heated, the referee's whistle sounded for full time, taking the match to extra time.
That tension though was to carry into extra time, and soon it was to be on full display for everyone to see. After yet another 15 minutes of a tense midfield battle, a Roald Jorgensen clearance into the skies was though by many to have been the last action of the first period of extra time, yet the whistle did not blow as Dräsen Isrdlvarien controlled the ball on the half way line, before smashing a dipping effort over a stranded Rinforgetskarlos into the Urzi net, sending the Northcliff City fans into raptures. Or so they thought, as whilst Dräsen had been lining up his shot, the referee had blown for half time, meaning that the goal would not stand. Both players and fans of Northcliff City were furious with the referee, with Dräsen himself being shown a yellow card for his protestations.
When the second period of extra time finally began, Northcliff City were angry, and just four minutes after the restart, the inevitable happened, with Dräsen overextending for a tackle he was never going to make on Döker vam Poltsam in the middle of the field, the referee produced a second yellow card and dismissed the Craitish international. Whilst the Florians were obviously frustrated to go down to ten men, their attitude then became to try and get one of their opponents sent off, as the last few minutes of the game, and with tackles and challenges going in left right and centre, every time a challenge came in from an Urzi player, the Northcliff City players were quick to protest by surrounding both player and referee to try and get a reaction. And whilst Frankäya Kischt was shown a yellow card for a tackle on Tanilo Tosha, with just a few minutes left on the clock, Domonik Ƨarkœvič wriggled his way through the midfield before laying the ball out to Kischt, who whipped in a mean cross that was met by the left foot of Lökas Vrandela and was slammed in at the back post to send the travelling Urzi fans crazy.
Northcliff City felt aggrieved, but with a few minutes remaining they had enough time to try and find an equaliser, and in the last minute of added time, they were given a gift, as Ainslee Trueman's cross was blocked by the outstretched arm of Rödë Vankarlënœ, with the referee having no choice but to point to the spot. However, Sheldon Hunt blasted his penalty over, and the referee blew his whistle, ending a feisty and controversial final, with the Senyans just about edging a victory.
