Incontinentia v Hamland Friendly - 29/06/2012
Preview
As we look around the ever changing skyline of Chegavan in the north of the Incontinentian peninsula, we have to head west as the Hammish warm up in preparation ahead of this year's World Cup. The 18 strong squad landed into Incontinentia last night, but as the sun starts to shine, it's a new day and it's definitely game on for the Hammish team.
Minnows Incontinentia have usually been an easy preparation match for many teams in the past few years; however despite their reputation as one of the teams lower in the FMF ladder, they are still willing to get stuck in and undoubtedly will not want to give up without a fight. With players such as Kazim Mustafa Sanchez playing in the Tellian league and Imperial Utd's Alexei Emir, the "part-time" squad is now having some professional influence, a positive outlook considering the size of their small dominion.
Hamland on the other hand will look to finalise what will probably be their starting 11 ahead of this year's World Cup. They look to stick with the 3-5-2 formation and start with many household names, including duo Andrew Miller and Benjamin Craig up front. The pair have scored 17 goals between them in the last two World Cup, and they will be the main goalscoring threat for Hamland this summer. Elsewhere, captain reliable Rodney MacLeod will be starting between the sticks. Elsewhere there are threats in the midfield with Billy McVeigh down the wing, and Jules Scott and Enoch Martin in the heart of midfield. The question remains though is the defence - the Hammish undoubtedly have a number of talented defenders, but which 3 will get the go-ahead and start if Hamland keep the same system?
Looking at the two squads, you cannot look at any other result but Hamland, although the threat of Sanchez and Emir may prove some test for the defence.
Preview Lineup
Incontinentia (4-4-2): B Askarev (GK), L Hjansen, F Zafiriyev, J Pellegrino, R Buzayev, S Bukareev, K Mustafa Sánchez (capt), I Zapharov, O Maldybayev, A Emir, T Aliyev. Subs: I Kadeer, M Gasparinskiy, R Karay, V Kurmangazy, H Nasarbayev, K Askarov, A Yussopovich.

TV Studio after the match with host Dbeth Zaqido (former Matbaic midfielder) and panelists Alexis Tereminus (former Craitish international, Romero manager) and Valérien Hertz (Tellia and Xäiville).
DZ: "Wow, and never in a million years would I expect that to happen. Incontinentia, one of the smallest nations represented on FMF has shaken Hamland, a former World Cup finalist! Before we go over to our post-match interview, I think we need to take the views of my fellow panelists. Over to you Alexis."
AT: "I cannot believe it. Incontinentia, a small nation with only a few thousand people living here have managed to pull a surprise. I feel for the manager though, Hamland did hit the post a couple of times and offensively I don't think they can complain. The defence wasn't up to scratch although MacLeod didn't have his best of games."
VH: "From a defensive side, it was awful. I think for two of the goals, Dean Martins wasn't really aware of what was going on and seemed lie it was ballwatching. I really hate to blame players, but Eddie Winters has some partial blame for all their goals conceding. His marking was non-existent. What has happened to the reliable Winters that we usually see? It maybe an one-off but they can't afford to defend like that in Antica. I don't see it as a problem though, they either wake up or get replaced. The manager has got plenty of quality players to choose from in the defence.
DZ: "Do you think Hamland have to make changes?"
VT: "I don't know. It might just have been bad luck or an one-off poor game, but at the end of the day anything can be happening in football. If you look in midfield, they also seemed to lack the presence of Eric Heinhorn. Ian O'Hara is a useful player, but Heinhorn's presence and chemistry with Enoch Martin was lacking in the defensive side of the midfield."
AT: "If I was the Hammish manager right now, I'd be fuming at the squad. But Ocia, Toketi and Natopia will have some smiles after this result."
DZ: "Alright, I think we should leave it there, I think our reporter Tim Zensen has found Rodney MacLeod."
Post Match Interview - Rodney MacLeod.
TZ: "Rodney, a 3-2 loss, something out of the blue really. How do you feel?"
RM: "Well, we're shocked but credit to Incontinentia. Not many of us expected them to come out and play like that. They gave it their all and they definitely made it difficult."
TZ: "How much has that dented the morale of the team?"
RM: "You know, at the end of the day, it was only a friendly. The lads are disappointed but I guess that's obvious. We have to learn from this and we have to up our game for the World Cup. We still created chances and scored goals so it's just taking the positives from this game. The manager's not happy with our performance, but we know what he expects and are confident that he will do what he can to improve the squad."
TZ: "After seeing your side waste chances, hitting the post, what was it like to see the third Incontinentian goal go in?"
RM: "I can't really say much apart from it was very unexpected. I didn't think they were going to get past our defence but what can you say? It's football. Like I said, we just need to take the positives out of the game and not dwell on the bad things. There's things to improve on but we will still to Antica thinking that we can go all the way."
*scene cuts back to the studio*
DZ: "Well that's all, we have time for here on MicraSport Extra, join us tomorrow when we will be live from the Stadio di Romero, where Tellia will take on the Alexandrians. I will be joined with Alexis Tereminus once again and Alexandrian legend Sébastien Focán. But from all of us here, it's goodbye for now!

Re: Incontinentia v Hamland Friendly - 29/06/2012
Biggest shock in FMF history, methinks! I think Hamland underestimated them and felt like they'd inevitably win anyway, hence the not-so-accurate shooting, but credit to the Incontinentian defence, especially as it's less than two years ago they let-in eleven
Also, this makes Incontinentia "Unofficial Micras World Champions", if we go by the criteria of the real-life equivalent! I've kept track of the Micrasian version for a while now, so I should probably post it sometime soon!
