2012-13 Champions' Leagues
So it's about the time of the year when we need to start thinking about next season's Champions' Leagues. Next year, we hope to get them up and running for all four confederations, as well as holding the inaugural FMF Champions' League.
Now these are just my thoughts, it will be up to the individual confederation heads to decide, on how we could structure the competitions. These plans will change as members join and leave the FMF
AEFA
AEFA currently has 21 member nations. The top 8 nations could have one automatic place in the group stage. The top three nations will get two extra qualifying places, and the other nations will all get one, so there will be 24 teams playing in qualifying. The bottom sixteen will play each other in the first round, with the winners advancing to play the remaining eight teams for a place in the group stage.
First Qualifying Round
Bottom 16 teams play each other. Third placed clubs are placed in this round regardless of ranking. Winners advance to Second Qualifying Round.
Second Qualifying Round
The eight remaining teams that have not automatically qualified will play the eight winners from the previous round. The winners advance to the Group Stage.
CTFA
There are eight nations in the CTFA confederation. Champions Franciscania Athletic will automatically qualify for the Group Stage. The top three nations will also gain an automatic place. The remaining five nations will enter the qualifying round, along with the runner up from the top three nations, with the winners qualifying for the group stage.
Qualifying Round
Runners up of top 3 nations plus the representatives of the other 5 nations play each other for a place in the Group Stage.
Group Stage
Franciscania Athletic, and the league champions from the top 3 nations (or Alexandria's runner up if FRA win the league) join the four Qualifying Round winners.
EMUFA
The EMUFA has 26 members. The champions of the top 7 nations will qualify automatically, plus the reigning champions. The bottom 16 nations will each send one team to the qualifying round, with the other nations sending two. The 24 lowest ranked clubs will enter the Preliminary Round. The next four highest clubs will join at the First Qualifying Round, and the next eight clubs will join at the Second Qualifying Round.
Preliminary Round
Clubs from the bottom 16 nations, plus the 8th-10th ranked runners up, plus the 3rd-7th ranked third placed clubs are placed here. Winners advance to First Qualifying Round.
First Qualifying Round
The top two third placed clubs and the 9th and 10th ranked league champions join the twelve Preliminary Round winners here.
Second Qualifying Round
The top 7 runners up plus the 8th ranked champion join the eight First Qualifying Round winners.
WMFA
There are 12 nations in the WMFA. The top two champions will automatically qualify. The bottom ten nations send their champions to the Qualifying Round, with the top two runners up. The winners advance to the Group Stage.

Looks good to me. Hopefully we can get at least one team from as many nations as possible competing!

Re: 2012-13 Champions' Leagues
I still think we should abolish the confederational champions leagues and just have one for everyone. The level of activity differs vastly between confederations. Why should Sanilla suffer from being in a pretty inactive confederation? I'm also considering stepping down as head of whatever confederation I'm head of, since I don't have the time to handle that as well.

I could perhaps consider switching positions from AEFA to WMFA, if that is okay with whatever person/s involved.

You'd have to wait until September when we'll elect the WMFA President.

Re: 2012-13 Champions' Leagues
Oh sorry, the WMFA President is elected in odd numbered years, so you'd have to wait a year. There's AEFA and EMUFA up this year.
